Good prices on cigarettes, especially if you buy the cartons. Pretty good selection of kratom products. Friendly cashiers are always quick to open the second register so there's no waiting in a line. A great little store!

Nicest people ever. I’m glad we have this little locally owned, great selection of stock, clean corner store. Not super fancy but legit always has the lowest gas prices of anywhere in town. Never, ever have I had any trouble with being overcharged and there’s a sign on the register that refunds and exchanges are prohibited. A business like this has to do this. You don’t want people bringing back tobacco, lighters, soft drinks or smoking accessories. Anyway, cheap gas, nice people and huge selection. Love this store.

This is long, sorry. Stopped by to fill up. Gas was posted as $2.85. But individual signs on the pumps stated that they were out of 87 octane and that they'd honor 93 octane at the same price ($2.85). So I purchased just over 10 gallons, which came to $34 (and change). Price listed on the receipt was $3.35 a gallon. I went inside and asked the gentleman behind the counter (no name tag, so I can't list a name). He stared at my receipt for a while, didn't seem to understand. So I repeated myself and then waited patiently for approximately 6-7 minutes while he helped other customers (which was fine). He walked me outside, I pointed out the signs that were on several pumps, which he quickly took down (wish I'd thought to take a pic of those). I asked for the difference (approximately $5.00) and he said that it was a "misunderstanding" on MY part and he didn't have to do anything. I pointed out that I was only following the suggestion at the pump and had the signs NOT stated that they'd honor the 87 price, I wouldn't have purchased the 93 gas. He said that the signs were put up, the night before and hadn't been taken down, and that wasn't his fault. I told him that's not how "fault" works. He got annoyed and told me it was a "misunderstanding, sweetheart" and to "get over it" and walked away. Wrong answer, sir. It's only $5, yes. Had he apologized or shown any kind ownership, I would have been peeved and walked away. But the utter lack of responsibility and the attempt to gaslight infuriates me. I'll be reporting this station to the BBB for fraud, since it's technically under the "Bait and switch" law for the state of TN. From the other reviews I'm seeing, they routinely rip off the public. Avoid this station if you can.

I went to the Corner Store on Dayton Blvd and bought two cokes and a pack of gum and they wound up charging me 5 times over the required amount.

When I inserted my debit card, there was a longer than usual delay and then it flashed "Declined" on the credit cared machine, which I knew wasn't accurate.

The cashier requested that I re-insert the card, 4 times. I figured he knew what he was doing, so I did. It never worked and it said "Declined" each time. Then he requested that I move to the adjacent cash register, where it worked the first time.

He told me I wasn't charged for the times I had inserted my card and it didn't work. He said it was just a glitch in their credit card system because of their internet.

I didn't think much more about it until I checked my bank account a few hours later to find that I had been charged five times for one transaction.

A transaction which should have been right at $11 had wound up costing me $55.

I went back to visit them, and asked about the charges and they assured me that the charges would just disappear, because the credit card company wouldn't charge me multiple times for the same transaction.

I decided to let it ride, and waited two more days and when I checked my credit card, the transactions hadn't disappeared, but they had been deducted from my bank account.

I went back a 3rd time, and asked to speak to the same guy. He kept me waiting out in the store for 15 minutes while he sat in the office eating with his shoes off, and when he finally came out, I showed him my bank account, and he told me it wasn't their fault, that they had nothing to do with it, and I needed to call my bank.

I was getting frustrated by this point, but essentially he told me it wasn't their responsibility to fix problems with their credit card system, that there was nothing I could do about it, they wouldn't refund me, that it had never happened to anyone else, and he told me that the machine hadn't said "Declined" even though I watched it flash every time it failed.

The guy who was yelling this at me, was the same guy who ran the cash register during the transaction, and who asked me to repeatedly insert my debit card.

This is the second (and worst) time this company has overcharged me. Both times, they acted like it was my fault and refused to give me a refund in an aggressive and unprofessional manner.

I'm writing this to let everyone know that you should be careful shopping at the Corner Store on Dayton Boulevard, across from the dry cleaners and the McDonalds, because if I hadn't been paying close attention to what they did on my bank account, I would have been out the money they overcharged me.

As it is, I wound up burning two hours, going to the bank, waiting in line, and then telling my story and disputing the charges.

The whole episode, including both times it happened was a disturbing and unnecessary pain in the butt.

Be careful when you're shopping at this store.
