Awesome experience, selection, and advice from local experts. Me and three friends dropped in while visiting UNE for a graduation and Naval Officer commissioning event. The team helped us pick the right bait and tackle to lock-in some action. Not too long after that we were on them. No keepers but still fun to catch and release. I will definitely come back here the next time I’m in Maine!

Large inventory of baits and lures. Had fresh mackerel and clams that were just put in the freezer along with a large amount of live eels outside. Many rods to pick from with helpful staff.

They have everything and anything you might need to catch any kind of fish, from mackerel and squid to Giant Bluefin Tuna and everything in between, and they are reel nice people and a bit knowledgeable also!! I love this place!!

Just started getting into striper fishing and these guys were a great help, super friendly and gave me a good spot recomendation that ended up producing a couple fish. I'll be back everytime I'm in the area

This is my go to saltwater tackle stop. The staff is friendly but not pushy. They are all about answering your questions as well, they got me all set up for surf fishing when I was first getting into it a few years back, they were even kind enough to point me to a few hot spots. I buy bait here all the time still and any gear I'm having a problem with they are more than happy to either have it sent out for repair or suggest a reasonably priced upgrade. Love the fact that I'm supporting a local business rather than a big box store as well.

Great experience here! Both guys working were extremely knowledgeable and even showed myself and a friend how to assemble different rigs for different fish. Prices were fair and they had a good selection of worms.

Awesome and knowledgeable staff. Prices are a little high compared to bigger stores or online, but the knowledge that comes with is worth it. Everyone knows the hot spots to fish and has awesome tips and tricks to uses. I'd rather give my business to a local store than some nation chain. It's worth every penny.

What they have: Live/dead bait, tackle, basic boating supplies, and all the fishing equipment you'd need to square yourself away.

This is the first time I've felt compelled to write a review, and for good reason. This is an excellent store, manned by some excellent people that are genuinely interested in setting you up to catch more fish. The advice they have offered has consistently resulted in a greater fishing experience, taking me from the days where I would be lucky to even feel a nibble, to snagging a striper or two each time I go out.

They are genuinely good guys who you wouldn't mind going fishing with, they don't put on a gimmicky salesperson persona, and they are not afraid to tell you what products won't work/which cheaper product works just as well as the more expensive version they sell.

I've been coming here for well over 20 years, decent pricing and excellent staff, very helpful and knowledgeable and well worth the extra price of dealing with a tackle shop. Yes you'll pay a little more for your gear at a tackle shop, that's any shop anywhere and this is a given. However, you're not only paying for the gear, you're paying for the service and Saco Bay Tackle has always given me outstanding advice, pointers, and put me on the fish. This is my go-to shop for all of my fishing needs and I'll remain loyal to Saco Bay Tackle, only place I've ever needed, thanks guys!
Their Penn combos are an outstanding value, highly recommended I just bought 2 more. Can't go wrong with Penn and you can't go wrong with Saco Bay Tackle either, give em a try you won't be disappointed I'm sure :)

in Maine for only 2 nights. didn't bring any fishing gear, the two guys that helped me were awesome, answering all questions and showing me good spots to fish. set up a new rod I bought and hooked me up with the right tackle. I will be back.

I have been going to this tackle shop for as long as I can remember. Ever since high school (1980s), they have been my go to place for not only tackle but varieties of bait as well. They have sea worms, blood worms, clams and mackerel (frozen and live ones during the summer). If you are an angler, local or vacationing, this is a must go to place for your fishing needs.

Been in there a few times. Thought the service was great. Awesome selection of products. Very knowledgeable staff. It an awesome local business. Rate 12/10 and 6 stars
