This fall festival in downtown Franklin N Carolina is simply fabulous. The pumpkin rolling contest, man on stilts, entertainment from the cheerleaders, and scrumptious food there.

They hooked my girlfriend and I up with some awesome pairs of Altras. I believe it was one of the owners who helped us out and he was extremely attentive and knowledgeable and got me in my new favorite pair of shoes. My feet pain issues are pretty much gone and the shoes feel amazing to play my drums in just as the owner said they would! Great experience

Honestly I’ve never been in person but I saw a clip of advice from the shoe guru on a Jack & Bob Ross’ YouTube video and I’ve never witnessed such incredible service at an outfitter. Y’all really care about people and it shows! Amazing muscle care advice and shoe fitting. 🙌🌲🥾

The items are of such amazing quality! There are so many amazing outdoor products, clothing and specialty items that it's like Christmas! Not to mention, while there you can grab a craft beer in the back bar area! I also can't say enough about the amazing staff there. Thanks guys!

Great stop for hikers (or anyone) passing through the Franklin area. The staff are all experienced and knowledgeable on the gear and products they sell. There are even a few foot/shoe experts that can help identify issues with your shoes and get them resolved with the proper footwear.

They have a decent selection of backpacking dreeze dried meals including Mtn House, Backpackers Pantry, and a couple others. They also have a decent selection of common snack items like Stinger Waffles & Chews, Cliff/Kind/Luna bars, Pickle juice shots [NICE!!], Nuun drink tabs, etc. See photos for resupply selection as of 4/20/21.

They have a selection of common backpacking clothing items and gear you might be finding a need for at 100+ miles into your AT adventure. I forgot to grab a picture but they had a selection of Backpacks (Osprey and a couple others I believe) as well as foam & inflatable pads, sleeping bags, etc. Likewise, they also have more "souvenir" type tee's, hats, stickers and the like for those passing through by car or for those hikers that want to send a little bit of Franklin back to their hometown.

To top it all off, there's a bar in the back half (Rock House Lodge) with shuffleboard, darts, a Hightop bar (with 360 access) to stand/sit and converse with other hiker trash, locals, or drifters while having a glass of drought beer from their on-tap selection or a can (or 6-pack) from the local breweries.

5/5, do recommend.

I spent several weeks trying to find a particular set of boots. 76 outdoors had them, my wife and I went out there to get them. I walk in and was greeted by Kelton [sp?] who sized my feet (which nobody's actually done that in years). He found the boots I came for in a size that fit and I was ready to walk out with them, then and there. Kelton convinced me to try several different types of boots before it was all said and done with. He asked that I take a trip down and back the hill outside the store. Which I was reluctant to do, at first. Long story short the boots I thought I wanted wrecked my feet in under a quarter mile. Bottom line, go here if you're looking for the right footwear.

Went directly after school to get our daughter fitted for better running sneakers. The employee that fitted her was very knowledgeable and gave her many options not only for her comfort but for longevity of the shoe. We have purchased many items from them from clothes, shoes and a kayak. They honor our Veterans as well. This store is a huge asset to our little town. Thank you!

I had a great experience here! I passed by Franklin while hiking the AT. When I visited this store the employees were all beyond helpful. I was asked several times if I found what I was looking for or had any questions about the gear. I found what I was looking for quickly and the person I talked to was clearly knowledgeable about the gear and comparing it to other products. The little bar in the back was a lot of fun and had good selection and prices as well. Definitely a fun town stop, and a store that loves hikers and the culture.

What an amazing staff. We set an appointment for a shoe fitting with Jonathan. He spent 3 hours with my friend and me getting the perfect shoe for each of us. I will gladly drive the 2.5 hours again the next time. Thank you Outdoor 76 and Jonathan Bird.

Wife and I went to get new hiking shoes. Worked with Andrew. He took the time to measure our feet and also wanted to know what we liked or disliked about our current shoes. Brought out several pairs for each of us and explained the differences. No pressure. He did a very good job. Store is a stop over for through hikers on the AT. It's definitely worth a trip.

The store has just about anything and everything you could need for your experience with the outdoors. The staff is very kind, helpful, and knowledgeable the employee who helped me spent about an hour just helping me find the right walking shoes for me. They even have a "rocky incline" for you to test shoes on so you know how it will feel to walk on unpaved paths. There is even a little bar to sit and relax whether by yourself or with friends or loved ones.

I had an amazing experience with buying new hiking shoes. I took my current and old shoes in to show what I had previously tried and had not worked. My feet and arches were measured. The nice guy helping me was informative, patient and truly listened to my feedback while helping me pick the right shoe for me. They also have a nice selection of on trail and off trail clothes and hats. As well as, backpacks, socks, water bladders and different cooking items.

Dropped in on a whim while passing through town. Mentioned to Rob that we were vaguely in the market for trail runners. Discovered that Rob knows more about feet and shoe fitting than anyone I have ever met. Ended up walking out with two pairs of perfectly fit trail runners, two pairs of darn tough socks, a hand drawn map of some fantastic local hikes and camping spots, and an almost impossibly high bar against which to measure all other outdoor stores.

Here's a shot we took while out hiking and running on Dartmoor (in the UK) a few days ago. Thanks Rob! Shoes continue to impress, and we'll be sure to drop by if we are back in the area again!

Had a hiking boot blowout on the trail so we came here for a replacement. The staff was extremely helpful and knowledgeable and helped get fitted for not just 1 pair but 2! Had a couple of cold beers at their bar and played some shuffleboard. Store was well stocked.

Andrew really helped my husband find the perfect shoes for his daily walk. Andrew took the time to measure carefully then listened very patiently as we explained Dave’s foot issues as well as experience with different shoe brands. We haven’t received service like this in a shoe shop in a long time. We will stop by every fall when we visit Franklin for new shoes. Thanks Andrew.

Staff and owner were super helpful in selecting the right gear and the right price. I have never slept so well on the ground with inflatable 2 person pad we purchased. Furthermore, store presentation is on point, and even better … taproom with many draft beer is attached.

Kelton, Jonathan and staff are next level friendly. Customers here are some of the most down to Earth people you will ever meet in Franklin. Great addition to the city!
