Heartland Health Food

This is an excellent Health Food store and it's right in Painesville! I pick up my Vitamin D here. David DeFelice has an Excellent staff. Debbie wanted me to try a sample of Carlson Wild Norwegian Cod Liver Oil. I know, I know...for many of us Cod Liver Oil was a wicked part of our childhood that we don't want to repeat. After a lot of talking Debbie convinced me to try a prepackaged sample. I ripped it open and hesitantly tried it. This is NOT your mother's Cod Liver Oil! It didn't have the bad taste we all knew in childhood. It was tasteless and actually easy to get down! The 8.4 ounce bottle is $26.95, the 16.9 ounce bottle was 43.95. I was glad I tried it! At least I know that some of the horrid memories of childhood are gone and never coming back. I purchased the Kosher Vitamin D liquid for $9.95. This Health Food store has great personal service! I adore this little store and stop in whenever I can. The staff are so kind and friendly and knowledgeable. It's tiresome when online specialty stores are out of stock all the time or you have to buy more than you need to avoid hefty shipping costs. That's when I zip over to Heartland Health Food and find what I need right on the shelf and discover many other interesting products. They also carry locally produced foods like honey and maple syrup which is a big plus in my book. Prices are competitive and you get what you need that day. They also maintain an inventory of very clean and truly "healthy" products. To me, this store maintains the feel of the old grass roots food co-ops of the 80's & 90's, i.e. they genuinely care more about natural health than following the latest trends. Other stores get caught up in gimmicky products claiming to be "healthy" but loaded with chemicals. None of that on the shelves here.

Nice little heath food shop. I like to buy my favorite tea and supplements here. Prices are reasonable and the staff is very knowledgeable. I believe it is a family owned business. They have good selection and offer to order things if they don’t have them in stock. It’s a local shop and I like to support small businesses in my area. They have great advice depending on what problem you have or if you just want to improve your overall well being. Customer service is excellent!

I want to thank Dave the owner on his wealth/ years of experience on questions I hade yesterday when I visited his store. I came back today and met his wife and realized how fortunate I am to have both owners who really know health and which products that may best serve me! The cost of products were similar to the big chain vitamin shop in Mentor down the road. I will be coming back!

I am so delighted with all their products and customer service. The lady that helped me yesterday was so kind and got everything I needed. She was so patient with me and my 5 year old. Thanks again, we'll be back!

A hidden gem!
One of my yogi friends referred Heartland to me, I was not dissatisfied.
Here you can find non invasive organic and natural derived healing herbal supplements, teas, shake powders and the like.
There is a lovely essential oil section.
Raw ingredients for you own DIY home remedies such as powdered clays, bees wax, oils and empty vegetable glycerin pill capsules.
There are informational pamphlets and reading materials sprinkled throughout the store.

There are some unique health food finds such as quality Matcha and other teas, flower alternatives, nuts and seeds, and ancient grains.
Some Braggs products including liquid amino acid, nutritional yeast , and Apple cider vinegar.

You can also find paraffin and sulfate free shampoos, conditioners, and shaving creams.
Aluminum free deodorant. There is a little spaced for Neti pot salt mix, ear candles, and a few other niche Ayurveda body health finds. ( David consider;a good thing to add to the mix would be organic cotton tampons or healthy mensuration options)

I am so grateful for my stop I found everything I needed and more! I most definitely preferred this experience over visiting a vitamin shoppe or GMC. Thank you Dave for taking the time and choosing quality health alternatives!

Visiting from out of town. I called and asked about a product I needed in a pinch. Although they didn't have it, Janet was super helpful and went out of her way to check shelf to see if they had what I was looking for or something close to it. I really appreciated her willingness to help, and she mentioned she was ordering the product also.

Anyone complaining about workers not wearing face mask need to go to a GNC. We all know facemask don't work and cause more health issues. The way we keep healthy is by building our immune system and quarantine the sick not the health. If your worried about getting sick then eat healthy, exercise, drink clean water, avoid stress and get the proper vitamins.
P.S. we come here probably every other week and they are awesome and very knowledgeable.

Great customer service, and they had an herbal tea that I had been looking for elsewhere but to no avail. I'm glad that I decided to check them out, and I will be back to purchase other natural products very soon.

My favorite place to shop in the entire planet. They’re ALL so friendly, knowledgeable, and health conscious. It’s a breath of fresh air being in this establishment given the political climate in this country.
