This was not always the case at this location, but since Josh has been the service manager, the service has overall been excellent in terms of auto-mechanic know-how and workmanship and, most importantly, fairness (e.g. not suggesting extraneous or unnecessary repairs). The staff there are victims of their own success because since demand is high for their services they are not always able to turn around the car pretty quickly but the value is really there in what they do. P.S. Besides Josh, I have found his techs to be very nice and helpful as well.

My children and I were traveling home after the Christmas holiday from North Carolina to Loudoun County, and as I was driving on RT. 28, a ton of smoke started coming out of my exhaust, I managed to take the next exit and stopped at this Shell station. The mechanics were busy but stopped what they were doing to take a look at my car. He took a look a realized it was my transmission, still being an hour from home, I couldn’t drive it. He wasn’t looking to make a quick buck, he was honest with me and told me what the problem was. I offered to pay him for his time but he said no. People like that are hard to find! The nice guys at Shell let me keep the car there till the tow truck came. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND the NICE AND HONEST MECHANICS AT SHELL!!

I have had my Ford Ranger here several times and it has never been a bad experience. Josh has always been up-front, and honest, on the best service options, rather than making quick buck, focuses on quality work. Kendall is an excellent mechanic and takes the time , and care, to make sure the job is done right. My last visit had an issue with the drive train and Josh recommended a more simple, and appropriate, fix that saved over $500.
You cannot go wrong taking your vehicle here.

The McLearen Shell is my go to station for over 12 years. The mechanics always give me good advice and help me keep my car on the road. They have also advised me on purchasing a vehicle and I have never been disappointed. Once, I went to another Shell on a three day weekend to have my oil changed and it was quite different. All these guys have been down to earth and professional through the years- mangers, mechanics and inspectors. Thumbs up!

Been here a few times for inspections and car washes. Their car wash service is exceptional due to them having a staff member who pre-washes the car before it goes through the machine. (please leave tips for him!)

Mclearen Shell is the place to take your vehicle. I was just there this morning. They have an all new management and staff. The mechanics are very knowledgeable, friendly, and they will actually think in your best interest, and advice you on what your best option is. They were not expensive and there was hardly any wait for service. I was helped almost immediately. I will definitely continue to bring my vehicle to this place. I wish I had found out about their service and quality sooner. It would have saved me time, money and headaches.

I like to come here bc they have someone give a good cleaning before you go into the actual wash......it leaves it look very nice and clean.

My review is long overdue. After taking my car to a station close to my house for years and years, I was forced to find a new place. It's overwhelming and a challenge to find a place you trust. The team at Shell treated me like family from the moment I walked in. They are extremely thorough, and walk you through everything. They're also awesome at letting you know exactly what you need, and ONLY what you need. They don't attempt to push unnecessary work on you. They won me over on my first visit, which was in 2015. Took my car back for a completely different issue just months ago, and was happy to see the same team still there, and just as friendly and helpful as ever. They go above and beyond to work around YOUR schedule! The only place I will take my car. :)

My mother who is 81 has been going to them for years. My mother sold her car to my husband so he started going there. Now I take my car. Just wonderful, honest folks at McLearen Shell. I work in the shopping center and I locked my keys in my car and my coworker told me to go see if they could help me with that. The guy Josh was wonderful! He came out and helped me but the first time it wouldn’t work. I was planning to call a lock smith and then 5 minutes later he comes back again to help me even though he didn’t have to. An he didn’t even charge for anything! I’m not sure if they usually charge for anything but it was so helpful on a Already horrible day!

Great place to get gas in Herndon, prices are low, at the moment and service is great.

Just a great job. Not only completed exactly as requested, and done right, but they also responded to a last minute request to install wipers that I purchased...and it was complimentary! Pricing for the work done was lowest that we found (including the shop across the street). Highly recommended.

I have been in Herndon for 17 years. Most of the time, I took my Lexus and Acura and Honda to this shop for repairs and maintenances. Josh McMahon (current manager) and his crew are providing honest opinions about my cars' conditions and explained and showed you the problem if there were really problems. Several times when I felt something unusual and asked Josh for double checks, he and his crews examined my cars and explained the car conditions are OK and no repair is needed. When my Lexus really needed repairs, they provided excellent services. I have 100% confidence and trust for this auto shop.

McLearen Shell auto repair is the best shop I have ever been to. My guard is always up when I go to a repair shop, worrying if I am getting ripped off for something I don't really need, etc. However, that is not the case at McLearen Shell. For both my wife and my vehicles, they have provided exceptional service every time, and I always feel I am getting a very fair, if not good price! The guys there are incredibly nice. I dealt with Josh and Tony last time, both are very personable and you can tell they genuinely care. It's a great feeling to know I have a local shop I can count on and trust. For many years, McLearen Shell has serviced all our vehicles and they have never disappointed. They maintained our Hondas, even the CR-Z hybrid, and my beloved Ford Mustang. Heck, they've even done a safety check on our travel trailer. A couple of years ago, a close family friend asked if I knew a honest auto repair shop, I recommended McLearen Shell and ever since she brings her car in all the way from DC to get it fixed at McLearen Shell.

Great service station, great mechanics, and a firzt-rate service manager, Josh. Gotta tell you that a simple 'fix' of burned out bulb replacements that Vienna Toyota dealer service wanted $18-20 for two tiny rear replacement light bulbs alone, plus $50 more to install (yep!) via a simple 10 minute pop-out process through trunk access--this opened MY eyes! Glad I came to McLearen Shell! Boys got it done in 10 minutes for 1/4 the price.

I trust them for substantive work in future on our Generation 4 Toyota. Professionalism, courtesy, honesty and skill. And--ladies are sure not treated like nitwits either. Impressed all the way.

Got tired of the price gouging and rude treatment at Ourisman Toyota so I gave Mclearen Shell my business. Couldn't be happier!! If you are looking for expert mechanics, fair prices, fast and friendly service this is the place to go for all your car mechanical repairs.

Exterior is clean and well maintained. Premium is a bit more expensive than other brands but it is Shell, it usually is. I get my gas here weekly even though it's out of the way for me. I've been to other Shell stations in the area but the gas at this location seems the most "fresh/clean." My WRX seems to run better and smoother as well as perform better compared to other places, including other Shell locations.
