Reasonable prices for lots of fresh everything. In-house made tortillas of freshly ground white or yellow corn, (cactus and wheat tortillas, chips too.) In-house made traditional drinks to drink there or bring a quantity home. Fresh made tamales, burritos, sandwiches, salads, dips and desserts. Large bakery selection of traditional breads and sweets. Vegetables, fruits, large assortment of dried peppers, herbs, beans. Beautiful hand painted pottery for serving and for gifts. Fresh butchered meats, seafood, cheeses. Diverse frozen foods department. Large aisles.

Northgate Market is the best if you want Mexican food, produce and things you will not get elsewhere. They also have everything else you would get at any good market.

The place is just spotless. They are always cleaning and it shows. The produce is amazing and they have a selection of peppers you simply won't find at a typical market.

They have a large section of hot food. You can get it there and just leave or continue shopping. The selection is really amazing and the prices are low. They have the best tamales and their rice and beans are so great. They have a lot of hot items and sometimes there is a line, but it moves fast. You will be happy with everything.

As to the main market area they have good prices on things you would want to get at a regular market and a vast selection of Spanish and Mexican items, be they canned or fresh.

It is easy to park in their large lot.

The service is great. I have never seen an employee that does not look happy and they are all so kind.

You will love this place. We do.

With its charming atmosphere and friendly staff, it's a great place to grab a quick bite or browse local goods. The produce is always fresh and reasonably priced, and the deli counter offers a wide selection of meats, cheeses, and salads. I highly recommend stopping by for a memorable market experience.

Post-renovation and it’s now the nicest market in West LA. Everything is so fresh and they have EVERYTHING. Even imported Mexican beer that’s hard to find at other places. It’s also spotlessly clean.

Brilliant market!

I love going here, the fresh breads are so yummy.
Go early but when there hot.
The food court is full of several choices.
The meat markets huge with sea food.
It's local for me.
I recommend it if you like fresh home made tortillas too.
And supporting local businesses is the plus.

The renovations are stunning. Even though it's the same amount of space, it feels more spacious. This market is such a comforting place to just walk around through all the aisles.

Tamales tamales tamales! We come here for many items but any time we want tamales this is our go-to spot. They also have amazing deals for their counter meals and then the guac bar. They remodeled a lot so there is a lot more space and efficient shopping with newly added self check out.

I always enjoy coming to this grocery store for specific mexican products. Especially for the "ranchera" meat that is juicy and tender. It's always good for the weekend carne asadas.
The last time I was there, the store was going under remodeling. I like to see that it's finally getting an upgrade.

I loved this store even before they remodeled it, it’s a grocery store , but they prepare Mexican food that is hard to find. Like Salpicón and agua hole. There, they make Mexican hot sauces better than
I do. But you have to find them in little containers , not bottled. They sell aguas frescas and even carnitas. Sooo good! I like to pick up rice, beans , carnitas and the Tortillas are the best ones in LA. They are well prepared , just like in Mexico.

Plethora of homemade Mexican food cooked daily, even tamales! They've done a great job with this place.

Just moved here, found this store nearby. Great store, fun to walk through. I think the best thing is the tamales they make, very nice. They have them in packages you can toss in the freezer, and hot ones in a self-serve station [ed: it's not self-serve]. The bakery looks intriguing, but I can't be eating that kind of stuff too much. They make stacks of tortillas in the store, though I confess I eat those high-fiber, low calorie chemical plant creations these days, so I can't indulge. Still, lots of good stuff here, great selection of Mexican peppers at rock bottom prices, less than two bucks for plump pablanos. One thing I'd like to see is a greater selection of red sauces, but no shortage of dried peppers to make your own, I suppose, bins of them. Look for bean and cheese filled corn disks in the freezer, good snacks for the air fryer.

Produce and meats are fresh as hell. Best place to get bananas that aren't crushed (Costco) or constantly touched with grubby hands (Trader Joe's). Looking forward to coming back and trying some of their fresh bread and tamales. Update: tamales are great, and the tres leches cakes are *AMAZING*! Delicious salsas as well, the habanero salsa is so damn good! Also, it's nice to see them renovating, I look forward to seeing it completed!
