Papa Lou's Wine & Spirits

The staff and owner were friendly and helpful. They introduced me to Hooten Young by their recommendation, and it was great! It has all the classifications of a true bourbon, with the exception of not being cast in a charred oak barrel. It’s a great sipping whiskey with a strong military background. I highly recommend it.

This store has a great variety of wines and other liquors. Also gifts and other unique items. The owner is very nice and knows about the wine from the region and helped us with very good suggestions

We popped in here for a bottle of wine and some cheese, salami, etc. for an impromptu little picnic. This is a wine and provisions shop along the main street in Calistoga, and so not the type of place for which one would normally leave a review. However, the two people who helped us were so kind and helpful and went out of their way, and so I just had to say thanks again and to let others know about the friendly folks who work there. Have you heard of price gouging? This place is case and point. They’re offering Colonel Taylor at 5 times a mark up! I can see 1.5 for a family owned liquor store. But not 5x. And the excuse we were govern is “that’s how I stay in business”. You stay in business by having happy customers. Not by exploiting them. If you’re looking to over pay for something. This is your store!
