Such a cute shop and pretty local as well. The shop is organized by your needs and super easy to navigate. Prices are reasonable and staff is welcoming.

I’ve been wanting to go to this store for a while and I finally got the chance to and I’m so happy with my experience. Right off the bat, I love that they have their own parking (about 5 spots), there’s also plenty of street parking, and at the door there’s a sign that says everyone is welcome🤍 As I walked in I noticed that the energy in the store is very refreshing and felt like a safe space for anyone new to sustainability. There’s many beautiful plants in the store that just brings the place to life. They also have a gender neutral restroom which I love. The store is very clean and organized and fun to explore. On my trip, I was looking for a vegan and cruelty free shampoo bar, conditioner bar and a lotion and Colleen was very knowledgeable about all the products that she carries. She was very kind and even helped me fill my container with lotion because I was making a mess haha. If you do have your own container that’s wonderful and recommended but if you don’t have one she will give you one for free😊 I was honestly so surprised with the variety in her store, she even had vegan gummy bears!!! AND a section for kids to play while you shop!! I will definitely be returning to this store once I run out of my goodies. This is definitely a place to go check out if you are in the Sacramento area and want to treat yourself while being good to the planet. The little things really do make a difference. Thank you again Colleen for all that you do! You’re awesome. P.S. This is a no cash store, card/tap payments only. Also, make sure to check their store hours before you head out! They’re closed Mondays and Tuesdays, Open 10am-5pm Wednesday- Saturday and Open 11am-4pm on Sunday!

I love this place so much. My kids love this place and the sweet owner. We go there regularly with our empty containers. We use old orange juice jugs for laundry detergent, peanut butter jars and spaghetti sauce jars for dishwasher powder, etc. We've been to many refilleries in different states, in Auburn, in the Bay, and this is the best one yet. They have pantry items, cleaning supplies, beauty stuff. Wide assortment, which is not common to find in refilleries!!! Highly recommended!!

I love this place! So many neat and sustainable gift options, plants, bulk food, etc. And I can come in and refill jars with just about every single product I use - from bath, to laundry, to kitchen, pets and kids, and more! They have done a great job at bringing back the General Store and enable busy people to live sustainability!

Village General Store & Refillery is one of the true gems of Roseville.

Like the name suggests, it’s a general store where you can get everything from dried mango slices to shampoo and conditioner with a modern and sustainable twist, meaning no plastic and sourced from a company that you’d like to support.

The owner, Colleen, is so friendly and knowledgeable. But what I love most about her is that she firmly believes that sustainable products don’t have to mean lower quality. If anything, they’re better quality.

And you don’t have to be an environmental expert to go in. I ask a million questions, and she answers them all with a smile.

Sometimes I go just because it’s a pleasant place to be and look around. Sorta like a real life Rose Apothecary from Schitt’s Creek.

As you can probably tell, I can’t recommend this place enough! Check it out!

WHAT A GIFT TO ROSEVILLE. We moved here from San Francisco and appreciate the environmental awareness! Talk to Colleen the owner. She’s so informative! There’s a kids corner. You can turn in old batteries and aerosol cans. Bring your own containers or take from donated ones! Now I know I can drop off my empty jars here. I feel extremely environmentally responsible shopping here.

On our first visit, we bought:

oils

Village General Store and it’s own Coleen are a joy to buy from. The natural body care products are bar-none — you become hooked and can’t find them anywhere else! And the fact that you can do your bulk shopping, and pick up a beautiful unique gift at the same time is incredibly convenient. I come to shop with my kids and they love sitting and reading a book in the kids corner while I shop. I can’t say enough good things about this business.

What an amazing store with a beautiful layout and excellent selection of natural and organic products. This is a one stop shop for healthy and local products. Make sure to stop by and get all your goodies and support a small business near you! If you need good quality at a good price, look no further.

Love this store! We have been trying to reduce our use of plastic in our house and were so thrilled to know there was a store like this in Roseville! They also have fun things like antiques, plants and amazing kombucha from Sacramento on tap. I go to this store frequently for my household staples. The owner is very friendly and helpful in picking from her different options.

I have been needing a store like this for so long! It makes sustainable living convenient and affordable. The owner is a really lovely person and will walk you through how the refill process works (its super simple). Its a one stop shop for majority of your household/hygiene necessities too which is so cool!! Looking forward to returning 😁

We love this shop! The owner is always super informative and helpful with filling of our containers. There is a wide selection from pantry items to bath items. They have a cute little corner area for my kids to entertain themselves while I shop and ultimately it’s more economical to shop here. Happy we found it.

Colleen and her store are an absolute gem in this community. She has thoughtfully researched and curated every single thing for sale in her store, and everything we have tried is much higher quality than anywhere else and I feel good about supporting a local business who's values align with my own. You can get everything here, dry pantry goods, body and bath products, pet related items, baby toys, vintage goods, plants, gifts - the variety is huge! You can bring your own containers, get some for free at the store or purchase some there. Colleen is also a wealth of knowledge for local resources and environmental topics. Every little thing counts to help fight climate change and make a better world for our next generation.

Slowly working The Village into our family's shopping routine and loving every trip. They offer a very wide array of products that are sustainably sourced and come with near-zero-waste packaging. Bring your own containers for filling, purchase new ones there or even recycle from the "free containers" bin, all options are available at The Village. We are even planning on bringing some extra jars to donate next time.

I had no problem introducing myself to the owner once she was free (busy shop) and talking to her about the store. Some of the goods are made locally by artisans and other creators. She is able to offer them a store front to reach more customers while expanding her own inventory. The items themselves are an array of beauty, utility and creativity.

All said and done, I DO recommend The Vi
llage to everyone.

Such a lovely little store! My wife and I stopped in on a whim and ended up buying some wonderful reusable paper towels and some other sustainable goods. The shop owner was so kind and knowledgeable. Can't wait to go back :)

Cool place! She has so much stuff available - everything from dry goods like pasta, rice & baking goods to olive oil and beauty/personal care products and cleaning products. Really enjoy browsing the store and the owner is very friendly and helpful! Highly recommend checking this place out.

What a great idea. Make sure you bring your empty containers. I had an excellent time browsing around looking at all the different types of ideas, personal care, cleaning, food items and great gifts. I purchased a unique gift and a gift card. Next time I will bring my own containers. The 🌎 has too much plastic trash to dispose of.

Repeat customer here excited to share my experiences I have had at Village General Store & Refillery! Upon my first visit, I was amazed at the variety of items available - things I had no idea existed. Everything from practical household items, to awesome gifts, to pet necessities! Trust me when I say you do not NEED a reason to shop, but will likely leave with a little something every time! And because everything is sustainably sourced in small quantities, the quality is noticeably different. Prior to my visits, I did not consider myself as someone who “actively practices” sustainability. And to be honest, the idea can be intimidating. However after visiting Village and speaking with the owner, I realized how easy it is to take small steps and incorporate meaningful changes (And that small steps were okay too!!) The owner Colleen is an absolute wealth of knowledge - so kind, friendly and always happy to share her expertise. I NEVER felt guilty or like my small steps weren’t “enough”. I learned so much in the time I spent with her and I left feeling a sense “hey, this is easy!”. It truly is unlike any shop I have ever been to. If you are in the Roseville area, I highly recommended stopping in! Colleen will welcome you with open arms!

Cute store, great products. I'm ok with people not greeting me as I shop and only talking when I have questions, although they were very friendly to me. Their tea is great and I love their deodorant bars. The plant I got is still in good health. Highly recommend.

Village General Store and Refillery is exactly the store I've been hoping for in Roseville. Colleen is incredibly helpful and knowledgeable, the store is beautiful, and the product line is extensive. So far, I've been very happy with the all purpose cleaner, laundry and dish detergent, dish soap, and shampoo and conditioner. I look forward to trying more products as mine run out.

Colleen stocks a number of pantry staples as well; such as beans, rice, quinoa, pasta, flours, oils, spices, and teas.

I really appreciate the adorable corner in the front of the store that is set up for kids. My kids brought books to trade at the "little free library" bookshelf, and they played a board game together as I finished my shopping.

Such an amazing store 🤩 great selection of every day items like dry food goods, spices, cleaning supplies, oils, personal hygiene products, and more! They have a recycling program (that they are growing). You can bring your own containers to fill to cut down on waste though they also have containers too if you forget or didn’t bring enough! And you can’t forget about their great plant selection!!
