The Food Emporium

Food Emporium is a gem right in front of my apartment building! I love how convenient it is to pop in for groceries. The variety of fresh vegetables, meats, and seafood is impressive, and everything always looks so fresh. They also have a great selection of beverages and alcohol at reasonable prices without compromising on quality. It's my go-to spot for all my grocery needs, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a convenient and high-quality grocery store. Easy for me to get ingredients for cooking

they provide faintful amout of various brands, categories and foods. It was interesting for me to experience United States Grocery as a traveler. Employee at the checkout section helped me gently with the machine. I will visit here again while i am staying here.

A great place to shop for groceries. But also a good place to pick up a cheap breakfast/lunch/dinner on the go on a budget. Also have fresh fruit platters for a healthy choice. They have a lot of beer choices, including international, and some wine.
I had the buffet dinner, it was very tasty, hot and filling.

Shout out to the chef. Their prepared food is THE BEST I’ve ever had. It’s actually cooked well. I had the salmon, asparagus, and mashed potatoes and the meatloaf, green beans, and mashed potatoes—absolutely great!

My local supermarket that me and my family have used for over 6 years . Although it's in " the big city " it has a mom and pop feel to it. Managers, staff, supervisors are so friendly and helpful.

Pros: They have fresh fruits and vegetables, and all you need for groceries. Sandra is a very helpful cashier and very friendly.
Cons: Prices are expensive compared to other nearby stores. Sometimes the products and/or vegetables &fruits are expired and not checked or removed from the display. Sometimes Cheese is rotten and not checked as well. Some staff need to smile more. I hope they will make the prices at least as other stores, checking their products regularly. I hope they all smile to their customers and become friendly at least to the regular ones. No need to put plants on the entrance as they obstruct the way.
After about 7 months of the above mentioned review, I found a huge improvement in the way the staff are behaving.They are always smiling and helpful, the vegetables are very fresh now, and regularly checked.

From the outside, this supermarket has a low profile. However, I'm in love with food and coming from a family of Bodega owners, I decided to take a look inside.
Super clean. Well stocked. Average to bargain prices on certain items. What I really like the best is that as a woman of color and transgender, I feel no pressure of racial profiling. I dont feel watched and unwelcomed. The staff is courteous, helpful, polite. Food Emporium is becoming a go to store for everyday items. I'll add photos later. Thanks.

Who cares that the people that work here are rude. I would be too if I had to work on 42nd st and deal with all the people that have been writing these reviews.

This supermarket is well stocked and the prices are very reasonable for the city with the sale prices downright good.

I’m glad this exists here and I will be shopping here more in the future.

The sushi isn’t the greatest however, but again, who cares! It’s sushi from a supermarket on 42nd st.

This Food Emporium seems small until you walked down the few steps or the wheelchair accessible ramp and see how far back and to the right it spreads out.
The cleanliness and organization is praise worthy. Quality of food and friendliness of staff always brings me joy.

This store has a plentiful variety of groceries.

Huge supermarket with great choices across all the ranges . Received excellent service from check out person . Great for tourists traveling on a budget also . Glad I came across it as was described as small in one of recent reviews so wasn’t on top of my “to find” list .

1st time since January 2021. Great. They had everything I need. Their hot food bar is very nice. Prices are kinda high, but during this time who isn't. The employees don't block the lane. And the cashier was very helpful. It's like night and day. Will be shopping here from now on.

Check out is quick,staff is alert and helpful, always clean and great assortment especially in the produce section.I've been shopping on 42/43 street location for six years always happy.

I come by here primarily since I live close by, and I'm so glad its this market, everything I could need at any time, spacious, enjoyable, great hours, high quality meats or any product really, I could go on.
Extremely valuable part of my life.

However I do take effort to avoid peak times, easy for me but that can be an issue for those who arrive around 6pm-ish or other high hours.

Been coming here for over twenty years. Great selection, decent prices. Don't forget to bring your own bag!

Great selection, and you can always find a sale / bargain on many items. Not to mention the staff is VERY helpful and consistently a great help all the time if you have any questions , product choices etc.

Luckily you have self checkout here and Never had to wait in line because they have multiple self checkout machines which is nice to see especially living in the city.

Oh and the supermarket Bakery is strategically placed right by the entrance doors, so once your in the market it's hard not to walk away from the delicious fresh baked treats and the delightful aromas drawing you in to them lol 😀

Friendly staff. Do all my shopping there. Easy peasy.

Great variety of non-fat yogurt

Great find for gourmet foods, cheeses, beer and limited wine selection. Bakery is nice with lots of selections. Prices can be high on some items, but convenience is a plus!
