This is our go to place to find affordable gear for us and the kiddo. We have always had great experiences over the years. Chase and Jen are amazing owners and have grown a great business!

I LOVE Durango Outdoor Exchange! It is, without a doubt, the biggest little Mom-n-Pop outdoor gear shop you'll find this side of the Mississip'. They have tons of used and new gear for one to peruse.
The staff? Very welcoming and very knowledgeable about local trails and the gear you need. True story - out of the 3 different stores I called, they were the one that immediately understood what i was looking for when i asked if they had any bear canisters. Not even kidding - the other two places thought I was asking about bear spray when I asked about bear canisters. Can you believe that?!
Why would you go anywhere else in Durango? Durango Outdoor Exchange will get you setup, and they'll do it with a warm and friendly smile.

Excellent selection, great variety of clothing and gear, friendly staff, and generally reasonable prices. It’s consignment, so some things are marked high, whereas others are amazingly low.

My hubby got me some much needed snow pants here. Unfortunately, the pants didn't fit so I brought them back to reconsign them. The entire store is loaded with quality items, sporting goods and fun treasures. Everything is on consignment so prices are fair and there is tons to choose from. The person who helped me was very friendly and explained the consignment process thoroughly. Check it out when in Durango!

New location looks so nice! And to see all the parking almost makes me cry :) can’t wait to get my exchange on!!!

I have been going to the Outdoor Gear Exchange for years and am always impressed by the knowledge and helpfulness of the staff. Shout out to Bryce who always seems to know the intimate details with the gear they are selling. Such a great way to find amazing gear that is at an affordable price and still in great condition. Super nice people. Attentive and knowledgeable without being pushy. Came in for a backpacking stove since these are not allowed on domestic flights. Got a great tip on the perfect backpacking trail and we had an amazing trip because of it. Can't wait to come back ❤

These folks are awesome. Not only do they support the local community, but they're friendly and always honest! They tell it how it is with your gear if you are trying to sell and they always have a good selection of used gear. One of my favorite businesses to support in Durango!

The people that run this place / work there are so nice! They really work hard to be fair and accommodating to both sellers and buyers. I appreciate the way they do business. I just bought a beautiful road bike there that will last me many years I hope. It should be your go to place for gear - why buy it new? Great place to get used equipment! We wanted starter skis and boots, and Taylor was super friendly and knowledgeable. He told us what would work best for us and wasn't the least bit upset when we said we'd like to "sleep on it." No problem! He and the rest of the folks were happy to help us again the next day when we went back for everything. Highly recommended!

Exceptional!! Bryce was so helpful with my bike rack and seat, especially since I am new to mountain biking and have absolutely no idea of what I'm doing. I didn't realize I had come in right before closing either (I thought it was at 7 instead of 6) and they were still so patient and considerate. Love this place!

I LOVE this place! We have traded gear up multiple times over the last 2 years. They have great quality gear at even better prices. If you're ready for a change in sports, an upgrade or just new gear definitely check them out! They will even sell your gear for you!

Honestly, If I really think about it, I'd rather not leave an awesome review about this place, because I might miss that next perfect deal on an item if someone else snags it! That being said, they are super helpful, nice and knowledgeable, and if you're like me and adventuring on a budget and rough as hell on gear, this is the best place to go! If you buy something that isn't quite working out, or you get gifted more than one of something, or whatever... bring it here and they will seel it for you and get store credit. It's like the circle of.life without lions. A d there is Adventure gear. There could.be lions. If you adventure in Africa, so maybe lions.
