This place is very popular, good Chinese food, friendly staff. Had teriyaki rice bowl and was very flavorful. Has limited seating so please call to reserve table or walk up to a staff to reserve. Or you will have to wait longer to be seated. The wait is worth the quality of food.

Amazing. Absolutely love it. Quirky, funky space with great Chinese food and an extensive beer selection (impressed). Portions are huge (family style) and service is super friendly. Absolutely.

I come from big city like Miami, Florida, and Houston, Texas so there’s lots of Asian foods. This merry-go-round taste, authentic, high-quality, and makes me feel like home. The owners of the restaurant are pleasant very nice and will walk up to you and greet you. The staff is very friendly, very personable and will always remember your name.

The food is quite an amazing thing - very well flavored and authentic. The orange peel chicken was crispy and not too sweet. The staff were amazing and told us about the interesting history of the building. Owned and operated by the cutest couple. I would make a special trip to come back here, 10/10 recommend.

Was on the way back from death valley and stopped in Lone Pine for a Dinner, ended up having dinner here at Merry Go Round. My wife and daughter are gluten sensitive and it's hard to find a Chinese place that offers gluten free options. Was pleasantly surprised that the chief can make most dishes on the menu gluten free. Had their special curry and rice noodles dish, five flavors rice noodle dish and the orange peel chicken all gluten free. It was some of the best Chinese I have had everyone was happy. Had excellent service, will definitely come back again, highly recommend.

Got to go orders of sweet and sour chicken, general tso’s chicken, and Chinese sausage fried rice. I have to say that this was the best Chinese food I’ve had in a long time. The waiter was super nice, and the restaurant was cute.

LOVED this place. Got the Singapore curry noodle, orange chicken, side veggies. Big portions, crispy chicken. So good, esp after a long day of hiking. Also loved the vibe inside, very unique.

Don’t normally leave reviews but tonight I really enjoyed the family restaurant experience at Merry Go Round. Super lovely staff and every dish we ordered was delightful :)

We came here on Christmas Eve shortly before close wanting to have a spot to dine with our dog. We asked to be seated outdoors, and were brought our own space heater, and then told we and our dog could come inside because the owners had their own dog inside. What a couple of sweet gestures! Not only did our dog get to have a buddy the whole meal, but we received such warm, friendly gestures from the staff and other diners the whole time. Food came out very fast, was very fresh, and delicious! Definitely make this a stop if you find yourself in Lone Pine and/or the Sierras.

You have to try it at least once. Really good food. Prices seem high but for the amount of food you get, it makes sense.

AMAZING! Our party of 10 stopped at this restaurant on our way back from Lake Tahoe. Words cannot express how kind the staff were (shoutout to Marissa). They went out of their way to make our experience top notch - the chef even gifted us her speciality sauce. 10/10 recommend!

While traveling through we found this GEM ~ ~ opens at 430pm and closed on Tuesday, so plan accordingly.
The family owned business was very relaxing, the wait staff was on the ball and the mature gentleman was very helpful with information.
The shrimp fried rice and shrimp with snow peas were very tasty.
Large portions so we brought food back to the camper.
We are going back before we leave Lone Pine.

SO glad we came here.. we're on our way to South Lake Tahoe / Bishop, and stopped in Lone Pine to charge our car.. This place was one of the few places that practices strict Covid adherence.. was able to sit outside, away from all.. And had Dan. The best server gentlemen I've seen. Gave me rest of wine bottle to finish off.. and I haven't even gotten to the food yet! Diabetes friendly! Great duck, shrimp, veggies.. and paper wrapped chicken!
We were going to take the short road back to L.A.. but we won't. Too hard to find great food/service now.

This is the BEST authentic Chinese cuisine in the Western hemisphere. Period. We had the Family Meal which began with Egg Drop Soup, Crispy Fried Wonton with cream cheese (my favorite), Potstickers, Shrimp on a Skewer and Egg Rolls. For our entrees we had Imperial Shrimp, Beef with Broccoli and Orange Peel Chicken. We also had a combination of fried rice (my second favorite) and steamed rice. The entrees were full of fresh vegetables and we had enough to take home for dinner tonight. The service was AWESOME. Thank you Veronica for making our dining experience EXTRAORDINARY!❤❤

Where the Alabama Hills meet the desert there is a wonderful Chinese American restaurant. After hiking and paying respects at Manzanar we ate delicious Sichuan food in a round and friendly place. We ordered Mapo tofu, orange peel chicken, and jalapeno chicken. Fresh and expertly prepared. The menu is Chinese American with Sichuan specialties. Highly recommend this place!

I was pleasantly surprised to find a crowd eagerly waiting outside the restaurant before it even opened, and it's easy to see why. This place is truly exceptional!👍🏻 Oh, and let's not forget about Blue, the adorable dog at the restaurant🐶

best Chinese food I've ever had, me and my family arrived at very late time and they ket us stay until we were finished and they were so nice absolutely amazing

There's nothing more one can ask for a meal in a small town like this where most only hikers come. We were quite successful in making our choices - the two dishes we had were neither greasy or too salty - as adapted Chinese food often turned out. The tofu vegetable was close to what my mom would cook me and the steamed fish tasted good as well.

LONE PINE: CHINESE RESTAURANT: The Merry Go Round restaurant serve such generous portions that my son and I just opted to split a meal. Sure enough there was enough for both of us adults to go halfers on the dinner. In addition my husband ordered a generous chicken curry that came with rice he even had enough to give some to us. He always complains that the curry dishes are never good at restaurants but as soon as he sampled his he turned to me and said give this restaurant a 5.
Immediately, I noticed that take out was available, that reservations had been made by some restaurant goers, apparently not all though, because we did not have reservations when we walked in. Outdoor seating is available and there is a air conditioning in one portion of the outdoor seating area. This staff is friendly and approachable, and when asked about the meals and the popularity of certain dishes, they were forthcoming but not pushy.
This is a very popular restaurant and if you want seating you should come early or make reservations--only a suggestion, because the restaurant is crowded most of the time. By the way, my husband noted that this was probably the least expensive meal we've had while we've been in Lone Piine--so I don't know what people are complaining about when they say the food is expensive at this restaurant.
