The food is worth the wait. Fresh, flavorful, well done.
The Taboose omelet, the fruits, and the BlackBerry peach pie are all worth a revisit by themselves.
Whoever is sourcing the ingredients, and cooking at the back deserves credit.

Great little diner in Lone Pine. Cozy and friendly. Wonderful service. I got the Humphrey Bogart and it was awesome. MOM got the eggs Benedict. Terrific.

This is the place to eat in Lone Pine. The restaurant was packed and they appeared to be short handed and stressed out. However the food was made quickly and it was what you want after climbing, biking or skiing. There were 7 long distance bike packers recovering there in addition to a sunburned BC ski bum, all consuming every calorie of their 1500 calorie breakfasts. Has shaded outdoor seating.

I spent more money at Carls Junior the night before. The price you pay here has high value.

It's a very popular spot for brunch. Put your name on the list and walk around the near by shops or wait outside for the table. The food was delicious! Would highly recommend this place for a healthy meal if you are in the area or tired of hiking food on your drive. I heard they are moving to a bigger space soon so probably less wait in the future!

My brother and I were staying in Lone Pine for a few days of hiking and ended up going here three or four times (we would have gone more but they are closed Wednesday). The food was excellent, the service was cheerful and efficient, and they were open at 5 AM, so it was easy to go before most hikes. I really wanted to try the burgers, but was only ever there for breakfast and always on the trail at lunch. Would be great if they were open for dinner too. It's by far the best restaurant in Lone Pine!

Fantastic!! Cute and tiny Cafe with amazing service and incredible food. Never had a chicken fried steak out of real steak before. Usually it's a processed steak like food but here it was a real steak super tasty!! Good gravy and eggs cooked perfectly. Fantastic ice tea too! Everything exactly as I ordered!

It is a very exciting place with a lot of energy. When we got into the building, the service was very polite and kindly guided us to an open table. Good atmosphere that makes you feel good. Great pies and burgers that make you want to come again. Greta place for a lunch.

Certainly an amazing House of delicious breakfast food and baked treats. They sell their pies in cute micro pies tiny in portion, but great in flavor. The cheeseburger was amazing and I was quite satisfied with the quality of the patty as well as the decency of the soup. I would consider going again if I didnt drop by from the Alabama hills area. Definitely sample their wares if you're camping in the Lone pine area.

If you want to have breakfast at the Alabama Hills Cafe, get there early because they get busy. Once you eat here, you understand why. First, the staff!!! They are all some of the nicest people. Even when busy, they are checking to make sure you have everything you need.

The food. We have had both breakfast and lunch here several times and we always got their peach blackberry iced tea. So good. For breakfast, their French Toast that’s the special for the day is an absolute must! Always amazing!! Their skillets are also so good. My husband got the Breakfast BLT regularly. They have a couple vegetarian options, both of which I have had and both are delicious. Their fresh fruit as a side was one of my favorite sides. Not your typical fresh fruit side that can be hit or miss. It was good every time. For lunch, the Roast Beef Melt on their fresh baked jalapeno cheddar bread *chefs kiss* Superb! Their wraps are also a good choice. You really can’t go wrong with anything your order. It all tastes fresh and homemade. Some dishes are large and can be shared or taken home to be enjoyed later.

Now for their little pastry counter. Get one of everything. Absolutely obsessed! The cinnamon rolls 🤤 Their coffee cake 🤤 If you don’t get everything, get one of something.

Alabama Hills Cafe is hands down our favorite place in Lone Pine. Now that my husband is not working in the area, we haven’t been in about a year. We miss this place and the people and we talk about it often.

This place is a must stop if you’re in the Alabama hills area. The fruit tart was hands down the best thing I’ve ever eaten in my life. You will regret not taking one home. They are baked fresh every morning! Coffee was excellent as was the breakfast and service. I wish I lived closer, this would be my neighborhood go to.

Great food, friendly service, and an inviting atmosphere. The food is very fresh and tasty, and the portion sizes are generous. The chicken fried steak is among the best I've had ever. The biscuits are fluffy and flavorful. The gravy is also some of the best I've ever had, with great flavor and large sized pieces of sausage in it. This is definitely a new favorite place, and I'll be coming back here for sure.

A cozy little hole in the wall, nice spot to shake off the road dust on a long trip along the 395. Our server Heidi was very friendly, and they make a solid beef dip sandwich. My wife also loved the fries that came with it. We will definitely stop in again!

A truly wonderful place for breakfast! The staff is friendly, personable, and helpful. Nice and clean Cafe. The cafe was getting busy but the staff never missed a beat. Generous portions of truly delicious food. The home style potatoes were perfectly seasoned and cooked. The added green onion was excellent!! Ordered a cinnamon roll! It was huge! Tasted fresh and homemade. Absolutely delicious! I was super surprised when I took my first sip of coffee. It was not your typical weak tasteless diner coffee. Rich, bold, and piping hot! The server said it is from a roaster in Tahoe. Perfect place to stop for breakfast when in town or passing through! We will be back!!

Alabama Hills Cafe & Bakery: Good Coffee, Great Pastries, and Nice Staff! I was in the area for multiple days and had the opportunity to eat here a couple of different times. I highly recommend the Alabama Hills Omelet w/ home fries, avocado, sour cream, and mixed vegetables... it's delicious!

Delicious place to support the local economy and your tummy. Baked goods sell out - pies, rolls etc. Cooked breakfast are good portion size IMHO and you’ll be good until dinner! Eggs perfectly cooked. Take a cinnamon roll for the road or next day! Coffee wasn’t my favorite however. Seemed like quite a few locals here too so always a good sign. It is a small place with efficient seating and tables and pets are not allowed inside. There is an outdoor patio. Ample parking around. Definitely will go here again. A treat to look forward to if you have been camping.

Fantastic hospitality, the place is so cheerful. We loved our omelet + strawberry milkshake (it tasted chemical to me but my friend who ordered thought it was the best ever) and avocado wrap. Tuna wrap was bit watery. Coffee’s great. Quick service!
