Mt Whitney Restaurant

I visited this place late at night with a friend. We shared the appetizer bowl which consisted of mozzarella sticks, fish sticks, chicken tenders and jalapeño poppers. Great stuff.

I decided to go with the "Black Rock" for my meal. It basically is a bacon cheeseburger with a side of homemade chili beans and homemade BBQ sauce. 10/10 would go again. Bacon is thick diner grade goodness.

Staff were incredibly nice and regularly refilled our beverages.

They also have an ice cream parlor and barside which I want to check out next time.

We had intended on eating at a different place but after seeing pictures on social media of all of the pictures, ambiance and food we made a change of plans (thankfully)

We had a wonderful time. Food was incredible, service welcoming, warm and friendly.

We walked around the entirety of the restaurant about four times to look at all of the pictures and the theme was so captivating. So much so that I completely forgot to order dessert. They had what looked like homemade pies that looked amazing. That'll be on my list for our next visit.

We will absolutely be back and encourage those in the area to experience the Mt Whitney Restaurant. It's really worth it.

Always good service and food. The history on the walls is amazing. We have been stopping here now for 30 years now, and I have never been treated poorly or had bad food, even when they have to find space for us.

After doing nothing but fishing and drinking with a bunch of drunk civil engineers for 4 days I was beat. With a full 80 gallons of fuel and breakfast under my belt I was all paid up and ready to hit the road, then the waitress handed me a sack and said it's for later, just a snack. I'll tell you....it was about the best roast chicken sandwich I've ever had. It was very simple yet the flavors were as complex as any 4 star restaurant chicken I've had.

The food and service was great! The salmon was better than I have had at fancy restaurants in big cities. I will definitely be going back. Staff was nice and the diner is old but has charm. Parking was OK because it was off season, I imagine in the summer parking could be a nightmare.

Terrific lunch!! Sandwiches were delicious!! Loved the hundreds of old movie pictures and actors!! Lone Pine is where many of the old western movies were filmed! Literally just a few minutes out of town!!

Typical place, good Burger, exceptional setting. Reference restaurant when I go to Lone Pine.

The green chili burger hit the spot. The diner was great to view while eating. Staff is ok and would visit me regularly, though I ate when it was more than likely downtime for them.

A great bar and place to stop on the road or if you are spending time at Whitney/Alabama Hills. Good beer on draft and bottle,, friendly service and a good menu. One of the best pastrami melts I've ever had. During Covid, you have to order inside and then eat outside.

Great atmosphere if you are a cowboy movie fan. Pictures of all of your favorites, all of them. The food is exceptional every time I have been there, and I have been there many times in the last 15 years a real joy for you and your family.

Fantastic spareribs and Fries with spicey black beans ... chef salad with chicken strips,.... very good food and friendly waitress... good price for very good food.

They could have told me "closed" as I arrived right at 9:00 pm but instead welcomed me in and didn't feel rushed. Very friendly and excellent chili.

My husband and I eat breakfast here whenever we leave. Its our tradition. I love their food and the staff is great! Also the inside decor is pleasant love seeing all the black and white photos of western movie actors etc.

Good food and service, love the cowboy decor, lots of historical photographs to look at.

Great restaurant, i had the special of the day and it was complete and so tasteful. The soup was excellent. And the entourage is superb. Many photos of the old westerns on the wall. Great personel.

Incredible small-town charm. Great fresh cooked meals. Nice hearty breakfast. You can’t really go wrong with this place on your way to Mammoth are on the way back home.

Immediate seating, quick and friendly service, food came out fast and was very good.
