THE SMOKE PIT

What a great BBQ Restaurant. Not inexpensive. BUT, I was able to stretch my meal into 4, yes 4, meals. My husband was able to get two meals out of his. I’d say it was worth the price if you can do that!
We ate there 2 weeks ago and he’s still talking about the “burnt ends” meal.
We will definitely go back whenever we are in the area.

Today we went to SMOKE PIT for the first time. I cannot believe we have never gone there before. Two of us got two large plates and a couple extra sides. Food was tender, juicy and very flavorful. We will probably have to go here every two weeks if not more.
Michelle was our server. Michelle was FABULOUS!
Fun, friendly, talkative, working like crazy for everybody and still finding the time to take good care of us. Never had to wait for anything! I can’t say enough good things about this place. But I will keep saying good things if it gets me a free slab of ribs 🤣 Seriously though, glad we found you!!! 😋

My wife and I had lunch here today for the first time we had the beef brisket platter. The beef was delicious. The beans were excellent and the macaroni and cheese was outstanding. My wife also likes the cornbread will be back here for sure.

Texas BBQ in NC!! THE BEST BRISKET I'VE EVER EATEN! The grocery store/meat market connected to it has fantastic prices as well. The burnt ends were over sauced and too burnt for my taste and the sausage was decent but the star of the show was the brisket. I was sad that they only had pork ribs, I was really hoping there would be plate ribs. Still I'll happily come back time after time, best BBQ in Charlotte hands down!

I used to live in eastern NC but now live in FL. I've found it impossible to find decent BBQ in FL - especially Carolina BBQ. While in Concord this week, one goal was to eat some good stuff. A couple other spots that I won't name here were big disappointments. Not this place. If I had come here first I wouldn't have gone anywhere else. I had the Stock Market sammich with Texas toast and mac n cheese. All of it was top notch. The sammich has just about everything out of the stock yard in it and is really delicious. Yes, it's real baked mac n cheese, excellent. The watermelon iced tea is good as well. All around, I wish I had another day in the area to go again. 👍👍

For years, like 20, I've always gone to a certain BBQ chain while visiting Concord,
NC. However, very recently, I've noticed they've been going down hill. So, last weekend, a friend of mine from SC took me to The Smoke Pit for dinner before we headed home from an all-day rather large car show. So, yes, we are very hungry. I was very impressed with this place. I had the pulled pork potato with potato salad (yes, double potato, for research purposes) as my side and this amazing watermelon sweet tea. It was great, the service was fast and friendly. This place checked all the boxes for a quick and great tasting bbq spot. We were lucky enough to get a table out on the patio to enjoy the sun and breeze. I highly recommend The Smoke Pit!!!

I visited The Smoke Pit today for the first time and was impressed by the food and service. First, there are many menu options to choose from that any customer is bound to find something to their liking. I ordered the Brisket with Beans, Mac and cheese and collard greens as my sides. I also tried the banana pudding and somebody’s grandmother is definitely back there making that dish. The only thing I was disappointed with was the sweet potato casserole. It has tree nuts and my not so forgiving allergy forbid me from having it. Thankfully, this will not stop me from making my return lol! I’d also like to take a moment to give a huge shoutout to Ashley and Michelle who made the experience unforgettable. They were personable, inviting and funny. I can’t wait for my next visit.

This place hands down is the best BBQ place in the Carolina’s!! From the customer service to the speedy service I can’t find anything negative to say about this place! The food is flavorful! I got the pulled pork sandwich and it’s loaded with meat that I can’t even hold it with both hands without piles of meat falling out!! The greens are savory (no sugar) thank goodness!! I hate sugar in my greens!! Overall this place is a 10/10!!

While visiting a friend (local)I asked if he knew a good BBQ place and he brought me here saying it’s the best around. He was 100% right. The pulled pork and Mac and cheese were my favorites here. And the have nugget ice in the fountain drinks!

If you are on HWY 85 heading anywhere please stop in at the Smoke Pit and you will not be disappointed. The Manager greeted me with a smile and the staff and food was simply “Amazing “.

Moses was extremely polite, positive, and attentive. Great food and great experience.

The only bad thing is you will need to stop at the next rest stop to sleep 😴

Top to bottom best barbecue I’ve ever had. Pictured here we have that pulled chicken platter with sweet potato casserole, Mac & cheese, and cornbread. And you have the pulled pork sandwich w/ collard greens. Seeing as it was a Saturday the line was nearly out the door to order, but the line was pretty quick and we managed to grab a table to dine-in at. Highly recommend going out of your way to eat here if you are in the Charlotte area.

We went to The Smoke Pit for a wedding reception tasting. Taylor was so professional and had the details down to a science! After hearing all of their catering details, we got to sample the food. I hope my review does them justice because it was some of the best BBQ I have ever had.

Meats: we sampled their brisket, wings (dry and sauced), pulled pork, burnt ends, pulled chicken in sauce, ribs (sauced and dry), smoked sausage, 1/4 chicken, and turkey breast. From the first bite to the last—it was mouthwatering good. The meats has so much flavor. The brisket was really good. Just the right amount of fat and lean meat. Even without sauce, it melted in your mouth. The sauce on the wings, ribs, and 1/4 chicken was amazing! So much flavor. Just enough sweet mixed with spice. I think my favorite though was the turkey. So moist and melted in your mouth. When paired with their blueberry sauce, it was like nothing I had eaten before.

Their sides didn’t disappoint either. Mac and cheese, sweet potato casserole, green beans, bbq and white slaws, egg potatoes salad, collards, baked beans, and cornbread. When I say every last bite was delicious, I am understating how good their sides were. I am not a fan of any greens chopped, cooked, and served but their collards were cooked just right-firm but thorough and had amazing taste. If you have never tried bbq slaw (the red one), you need to try theirs! WOW!

Desserts: we sampled the peach cobbler, banana pudding, strawberry yum yum (deconstructed strawberry cheesecake), and chocolate mousse. What a way to finish the meal! The banana pudding had so much flavor and the right amount of pudding to Nilla wafers ratio. It was light and airy and did both sit in the gut like a ton of bricks. My absolute favorite! Then, the peach cobbler was delicious too. Not too sweet but just right with the crust and peaches.

Everything’s was absolutely delicious and, when paired with the sauce recommendations of Taylor, it was even better. If you are ever near the Smoke Pit, you have to try it. You can thank me later!

Phenomenal Ribs! I must come back to have them again. We also had the smoked pulled chicken, dry jumbo wings, white slaw, okra, french fries, mac and cheese, sweet potato casserole, cornbread and peach cobbler. Everything we tasted we loved.

Absolutely delicious. Service was super friendly and quick to bring our food to the table after we ordered it. The burn ends we're like candy in your mouth they just melted away. The stock market sandwich we got had pull pork,sausage and chopped brisket. Huge and delicious.

The smoke pit in Concord is top-rated BBQ gem in North Carolina. This place is always packed and we were finally able to stop in and experience this goodness. There is so much on the menu and everyone says EVERYTHING is good. We messed around and found out it's true. We had the brisket (perfect amount of fat), burnt ends(melt in your mouth with delicious sweet sauce), deviled egg potato salad, corn bread, shredded chicken sandwich, Mac n cheese, and mashed sweet potatoes. All the sides were bomb. We gotta go back for ribs next!

Had the BBQ delivered to Great Wolf Lodge, and ordered the Beef Brisket, pulled pork, Leg n thighs chicken quarters with Mac n cheese, sweet potatoes casserole. Also got Alabama BBQ, Blueberry BBQ. Hands down some of the best BBQ I've ever had. Will definitely be back for more next time we're in the Charlotte area.

I can’t recommend this place enough. James barbee is running a great show over here. The brisket and pork is better than any in charlotte. Mac n cheese even the mustard based sauce is fantastic

Just wanted to take a moment to thank the entire staff over at The Smoke Pit for the absolutely awesome warm welcome and hospitality! We were travelling from Montreal, Canada to Charlotte and had a few places we wanted to visit including The Smoke Pit. We arrived about an hour before closing on Saturday (our mistake, as we thought it was open on Sunday and when we found out it wasn’t, we rushed over as fast as possible!) and was hoping to sample a bunch of their food. We got a chance to speak to and meet some great people and the most friendly staff!! We were dying to try the brisket and by the time we arrived, it was unfortunately already sold out, but the staff made up for it by letting us try a few other things that were excellent! We got a sampling of almost all their meats and sides and wasn’t disappointed in any of them; they were all excellent! My daughter went nuts for the mac and cheese haha!! To our surprise, as we were eating, the kind lady who helped us with our order brought over a few pieces of brisket that were “hidden away”, must have been a few pieces left when they called sold out! That was the cherry on the cake and it just melted in your mouth! So grateful for this!

Again, my family loved every bite of each item we tried and a huge thank you from our family to yours for treating us like rock stars!!

Will absolutely come back if we’re ever in the area again!!

I absolutely love The Smoke Pit BBQ. Best place even put up against places in Charlotte. The portions are beyond generous. And $1.25 to add on a huge piece of corn bread! What a bargain. I can make 2 whole sandwiches for 2 meals out of the pulled pork sandwich. I do not get any other bbq other than The Smoke Pit. The staff is very friendly. Get there quick before dinner though because the place fills up quickly if you dine-in. The brisket is my ultimate favorite, I buy it by the pound and add one side. The stock market sandwich and the pulled pork sandwich are my next go to. Then the blue chicken salad if you want a great salad. A few small hiccups, they forget to give my me side and the apple crisp dessert was not good. Apples were all mush and no whole apples and the crisp and apples were waaaaayyy too sweet. Took 2 bites and could not eat anymore. Outside of that a great place.

I really liked this place. We ordered from UberEats so it was cold when it arrived, but even then it was still fantastic. They give you like a pound of pulled pork. The barbecue sauce is vinegar based which is not my favorite, but everything made up for it. Cornbread, fire. Beans, tasty. Fries, amazingly-seasoned. Mac and cheese was fire too. Wish we got dessert.
