Big Fish Golf Club

My go-to Hayward area course. Incredible Pete Dye course design with links style golf on the front 9 and north woods golf on the back. Staff has always been incredibly friendly over my many trips to Big Fish. Recent influx of poor reviews (seemingly all from a single group) are not at all reflective of my experiences. This is a first-class course with first-class staff and I would recommend Big Fish to any golfer without hesitation.

I’ve always heard about the Hayward area and how it had some great golf. So I decided to get up there and finally try it out. I played Big Fish for the first time back in early June was extremely impressed. The tee boxes are flat, the fairways lush, and the greens roll perfectly. Making a tee time is very easy and the staff has always been very accommodating. I enjoyed it so much that I just wrapped up my third trip in about six weeks up there from the cities to play it.

I would highly recommend heading up there!

Absolutely beautiful course! The front 9 are very open - making it great for a beginner like myself. The back 9 are hilly and enclosed with trees to give you a bit more of a challenge. I will absolutely be back.

Great course and a great time! Joe and Dan in clubhouse were great and helpful. Marty started us off wonderfully on the 1st hole overall good experience. Just wish I was better at golf!

Won the HIGT twice at Big Fish. You never forget those big wins! Great course.

Great layout and very challenging. Links front and woods layout in back is very cool and unique. They have new owners this spring which is welcome since previous owners didn’t keep it up. Bunkers are getting overgrown with grass and weeds but expect new owners will address this as staffing and budget increases. Rest of course is very good and greens are rolling nicely. The manager Indy is great. Played it 3 days in a row this week and loved it!

Great design on all 18 holes of this course. Front nine is very open and partially forgiving while the back is very wooded. The fairways were in great condition but tee boxes were a little rough. Overall great deal for $42 with a cart. Best golf course around Hayward

Great course with very different nines. Front is very open. Links-style if you will. Backside is cut through the forest. Each hole reminds me of Giants Ridge. A very nice contrast to the front. Great condition when we played it. A beautiful course. I feel guilty I took this long to play it. It’s been open quite a while. Definitely worth playing when you are in Hayward. Also, it’s right across the street from the casino. In a good way. Played the course, then hit the buffet. I’ll be back.

Great layout and completely different 9's front and back. Classic links style on the front will challenge you when the wind picks up and the back is carved right out of the hills which will force you to play it straight.
Course was in great shape, even right after it had rained a bunch in the morning.

Course is in fantastic condition ! Every hole is different. Everyone that works there is a charm. Chris the pro was great! Food was great too.... We had a blast. Thanks to twin cities golf for setting up a great tournament. We are coming back for more

Had a great experience beautiful greens best around for miles. A definite must see green for experience or beginner.

Course was in great shape. Best of any course I've played this year. The Pete Dye design makes it a fun but tough challenge. Definitely worth taking the time to play this course.

i played twice in August. I really enjoy the course. Friendly staff and good equipment available. I played the back alone the first day and it didn't seem as intimidating when I took the time to study it. Great place.

Great to see that the bunkers are finally going to get the maintenance and attention they need to bring the course to full potential. I would respectfully suggest the fescue outside of the rough be allowed to grow. Fairways and rough seem to be in ok shape. Should consider posting signs in the pro shop and on the golf carts reminding golfers to repair ball marks on the greens. Give away the repair tools if necessary to get people thinking about it.

This was really a great course. The staff was really friendly and professional. Fun layout that was challenging but still playable without being familiar with the course. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for golf around Hayward.

Great course. Front is links, back 9 is wooded. Pete Dye design. Not a bad hole. Great price too. We paid $39 a guy for 18 with cart on a Monday in June.

Once again Bob has shown to be a perfect host. We have used the Big Fish Banquet Hall and outside facilities for two weddings. Both have been over the top. The first started outdoors with the wedding and gorgeous scenery. Our Grand Daughter and her wedding party made their way from the Mulligans across the course to the top of the hill to meet the guests and the man she was to marry. It was breath taking. Followed by large outdoor BBQ grills under the big tent. Bob had fire pits going all over. The walk ways were all lit. Finally the party moved indoors for the reception and dance. The evening was perfect.

Two years later we were very fortunate the date was open for our second wedding. Again, Over the top! The banquet center and bar area are beautiful. They can handle your food, bridal party wedding flowers, flowers & decor for the church, the hall, and even decorate to your theme. They covered it all for us. They were perfect. Once again we were not disappointed. I would recommend the Big Fish Banquet Center for any wedding or booking. We have already booked our Christmas Party for 2017! Thank You Bob! Your the Best!!!

Great course. They recently added a cart bar that is pretty great. I lost the long drive competition with my brothers and was forced to drink a shot that was half Early Times whiskey and half Durango tequila, not a good drink for human beings.
