We love coming here when we travel up north! Great for all kids! My girls love the petting zoo the best! Bunnies, goats, baby deer, ferrets, chinchillas, and even a baby skunk! The staff were all very friendly and knowledgeable. It is a little pricey, but the girls really do love going here.

This wall Zoo was fun! There were some animals (mostly deer) that walked around with us.

They had a baby animal section that was interesting. There we several baby deer that were adorable!

What a fun experience! This was the cleanest, most well maintained small zoo I have ever been to. With some of the coolest animals, too. They were friendly and there was a lot of hands on engagement for the littles. Plus, the deer roam free! We saw all the animals, and fed most of them. The goats were very welcoming, and the Bears were a lot of fun to watch. There were so many species of birds to see. We loved the little gift shops and fun "houses" to explore. There is a lot of walking, so wear the proper shoes! If you have littles, this is a must see and experience place!

We have been to the Hayward zoo at least 4, or 5 times over the years...Always an enjoyable walk to see all the animals, and my niece loves to feed them...

Loved everything about this place! Lots of animals to see, some we could even pet and feed. A nice little cafe for snacks and fun buildings to go in. We spent a few hours in there going on the trails and checking out all the info on the posts along the way. Definitely a place for all ages everyone should stop by and see!

It's a nice little place. Not big, but fun especially for smaller kids. I'd never been to a zoo with a Western Town! Kids enjoyed the domestic deer walking around, especially the fawns.

Such a fun little zoo. So much fun to be able to feed baby deer and bigger deer roaming free. Also I was happy to find this wonderful bird made of metal and a rock. I am sure it is a roadrunner!

Wow! I was impressed with the variety of animals and the size of the zoo. The kids loved feeding the animals and the activities in the back area of the park. Definitely was worth the stop!

Been coming to Wilderness Walk for nearly forty years. It's a great place to relax and enjoy some time with the various animals. While some people may be put off by the use of cages since modern zoos typically use more natural habitats, all of the animals seemed well cared for. The animals also interact with guests a lot more than typical zoo animals.

In addition to the zoo, there is a western themed mini-town for kids to explore with mystery house, jail, gold panning, maze, and cafe.

Overall this is a relatively inexpensive way to enjoy a half day in Hayward.

Awesome place to take kids. The zoo is large enough to be entertaining without being so huge that everyone is cranky and exhausted before you see it all. Deer and goats walking free and playground and picnic area are well kept up. Such a variety of animals; bears, skunks, wolves, raccoons, cougar, tiger, pigs, sheep, red deer, lots of different types of birds etc. All the animals were very well cared for. The kids loved feeding the trout, goats and camel. Also had a lot of fun petting the deer. They spent a lot of time running through the maze house and also panning for "gold" ie spray painted little rocks. The perfect place to bring younger kids!!

Such a cute place to spend an afternoon. Animals spaced out and we enjoyed the deer and chipmunks eating out of our hands. The Western town was cool for the kids. They enjoyed mining for gold.

I visited WW every summer from the time I was 1 until I was 15. It (and my Dad’s commentary throughout the visit) were incredibly educational and fun and thrilling and memory-making. A goat tried to eat my mom’s purse. I got to hold baby raccoons and skunks and pet deer and feed goats and there used to be the most affectionate elk named Charlie.

WW is still there and going strong. Black bears, a camel, goats, deer, a porcupine (my favorite), a GD mountain lion and a tiger! and so much more.

It used to have only more typically north woods birds and animals. Now it’s more about local and exotic animal rescue and support.

Please visit and also donate to help this amazing facility continue to support wildlife in need and provide a fun educational experience.

We had a super fun time as a family visiting while on vacation. Easily walkable, a great variety of animals, and the people operating it were great. You get way closer to the animals than most zoos and the free roaming animals were fun to interact with.

I've gone here nearly every year since I can remember, and I'm so happy each time I get to bring my son! Thank you for keeping the joy alive and well in our little town.

Fun mix of adventure and animals. Enjoyed feeding the goats with the bucket on the pulley, the random maze, and the free roaming deer.

Lovely mini zoo. You can feed most animals from your hand and there are deer roaming thru the walk and many come up to you throughout your walk.

Wilderness Walk is a good place to bring the family. There is all sorts of attractions and thing to do here. There is a petting zoo where you may pet and get really close to some the animals here. They have quite the collection of different animals that your family Get the chance to see. It's a good place to bring kids they'll enjoy checking out the letting zoo. This place was a pretty good experience to have when I was younger.

Always a great place. Yearly trip for my son and I. Buy the bag of corn for $5. You won't regret it. You will need to feed more than just the nursery animals. Bring a picnic lunch, spend the day.
