1 Flatbush

The day to day staff at 1Flatbush is a wonderful lot. The front desk concierges are always friendly and professional. They don't just help with packages, they really make the building feel like a positive and caring community. GianCarlo, the head of maintenance is very knowledgeable and helpful. Any repair tickets are always handled quickly with safety, functionality and quality in mind. I've lived here for 3 years and have been very impressed by the crew.

I left a review a few years back but as I’ve been living here for some years now I wanted to update to reflect current life at 1 Flatbush. I specifically wanted to shout out the incredible super Giancarlo along with the maintenance crew for being especially wonderful and truly going above and beyond for residents. I honestly don’t think I’ve ever had the pleasure of dealing with a super or even maintenance worker HALF as kind and capable as Giancarlo; we’re seriously so lucky to have him. Also the front desk staff are the best of the best - especially Richard and Gina, but the whole team is amazing. Management is also legitimately a delight to get in contact with… truly, everyone here is incredible. I can’t stress that enough!

Everyone who works here is so helpful and attentive - it's a lovely building and community! I hope to stay here for a long time :)

My partner and I moved in several months ago and we love the building! Management is active, responsive, and overly friendly. The building itself is lovely and the amenities are a huge bonus. Our unit is clean and full of modern appliances. The area itself is well resourced with Target, Trader Joes, etc. right by your doorstep.

We are really happy that we decided to move into this building!

I've lived at 1 Flatbush for almost a year and it's truly been the best experience I could ask for. I have recommended this building to all my friends looking to move because it's well-maintained, has amazing facilities, the entire staff is so helpful / kind (shoutout to Gina, Richard, and Antonio for making my days brighter every day), and I can tell building management genuinely cares about its tenants (they're always organizing community-building events & the building manager Brandon has been so accommodating & gracious answering literally all questions / issues I've had during my time here). Could not recommend it more.

We are very impressed with this apartment building. Richard in concierge has been absolutely amazing. Richard goes out of his way for all of the tenants and is always a happy face to see and chat with. Richard is so warm and inviting and goes out of his way for everyone in the building and makes sure that you have your packages and can help with any questions you have and lead you in the right direction. Richard provides such a great and easy experience for all of the tenants!! We appreciate him so much!

I stayed in 1 Flatbush for a year (2021-2022) and it was overall a great and comfortable experience.

The doormen, especially Richard, Uri, and Ali, were extremely warm and welcoming and really made the building what it was. There was also doorwoman that was also wonderful that just came as I left. Richard would always go above and beyond to welcome everyone and was on top of handing us packages! They would always make my day!!!

The amenities were kept clean and very nice. Although there were times with leaks and with the AC out in the gym during the summer, the gym and yoga space were nice to be in. The rooftop area was also nice when it opened.

The maintenance staff were always on top of work orders and requests, as well as maintaining a tidy and comfortable space. I appreciate all they do for the building.

The various community managers have been friendly and accessible. I met Brandon just while leaving as I did my apartment walk-out, who is warm and welcoming.

My favorite part of the studio was the tub in the bathroom - so nice! The studio overall was modern, sleek, and clean, with a nice view. The dryer was not the best (I had that same one before in a different apartment), but at least it was in unit. Also, the AC/heating unit was pretty loud as it goes on and off every few minutes (I normally don't get bothered by sound, but it did wake me up). Although it was the smallest unit in the building, there was still quite a bit of space to have a nice layout and get creative with storage.

With respect to management, the only qualm I did have was with steep rental increases and with no flexibility on short term leases for current tenants with good history as did my other previous buildings. It would have been great if they were willing to work with me to extend my stay if possible.

Aside from that, overall I really liked my experience there and happy I was able to live there for a year.

I've been here for two years now and could not have had a better experience. The staff here go above and beyond to make sure you have what you need and all your questions are answered - a special shout to Richard, Antonio and Clarence who especially exemplify this! And I'm also very pleasantly surprised at how quickly service requests are completed - with no compromise to quality. Richard on the staff is always offering to help whenever we need something. Definitely recommend! We cannot speak more highly of Joshua Marx and his team, who have transformed this building. The team came in after our first year and starting meeting the expectations one would want in a luxury apartment building. The gym is an amazing added touch. When the gym was not able to accommodate everyone because of COVID restrictions, the team setup a virtual workout series for everyone. Love this building and the staff!

I absolutely love my new home. It’s quiet (that is important to me as I am very quiet myself and dislike a lot of noise) as well as beautiful! If something needs to be fixed, they are on it fast. The doormen are awesome and always kind and helpful (Richard has been very kind and helpful in particular) and the buildings manager is incredible. Joshua Marx has been nothing but helpful, kind, and pleasant (and patient with me lol). If I have a question, he is always willing to answer and help. He made me feel comfortable about living here before I even moved in. I get anxious but he helped me a lot by answering questions etc.

Great building and great environment. I would recommend it.

My husband and I have lived here for just over 4 months and I can truthfully say we’ve never felt more at home! From the front desk staff to the management team, the professionalism is outstanding! Even our sweet puppy is greeted daily with a treat!

I just moved in to the building and am loving it so far! The building is so nice, moving in was very simple, everyone is so friendly, and the amenities are great. Eddie was also very amiable and great to work with when touring, applying and signing the lease. He was very responsive to emails, and was even available to meet last minute for a tour of the unit I ended up renting! The application, approval and lease signing was very simple and straightforward, and he made the whole process a breeze. Definitely recommend :)

My husband and I've been living Fort Greene for past 5 years and just moved into 1 Flatbush recently. We have the best panoramic view to the city and Fort Greene. Layout is wonderful and ceilings are high, plenty of sunlight comes during the morning and afternoon. Kind concierge staffs and leasing staffs. It's fairly smaller apartment community compare to other 40-something story high-rises around here, but 1 Flatbush has everything and even have boutique feeling because of great interior design. Highly recommend! :)

We’ve lived in the building since it opened - and they have the best doormen and staff! So friendly and accommodating. A HUGE shout out to Richard, who is the best doormen I’ve ever had. Kind, accommodating and goes above and beyond with every interaction.

Its been almost three weeks since I've moved in and my experience has been great so far! Natalia, our leasing agent was extremely patient and is always available when I have any questions. The doormen are great and I am always welcomed with a warm smile. As far as maintenence goes, I put in a request in the morning and the issue was fixed within the hour. Overall I am really enjoying my stay so far and would recommend this building.

I absolutely recommend living here if you want to feel safe and secure with such a clean environment and responsive, helpful management team. I've lived here a year and once Joshua Marx and his team took over, I have absolutely no complaints. I just signed my lease for another year and cannot imagine living anywhere else. Through the pandemic, they have kept everything beyond clean. I have dealt with MANY terrible management companies here in NYC, and my experience with Joshua Marx is unmatched. I can't wait to continue living here as this has been my safe space during such a crazy year. Highly recommend!

Location is a bit hectic, but the building is nice and the apartments have great finishings. Some of the doormen are very helpful + friendly, and the maintenance is incredibly prompt. Eddie in the leasing office was great with our renewals, very prompt + responsive and helped keep us in the building.

1 Flatbush is such a great place. The premises are well maintained and the amenities floor is among the best I’ve seen. However, the real benefit of living there is the wonderful service provided by the doormen. Richard, in particular stands out, because he always greets us with a smile, is very knowledgeable regarding matters of his job, and often has our package ready for us the moment we arrive in the building.

I love it here where I live.. I’m a single mother raising two boys and thanks to greystar even the first people before they had sold the company the staffs were so helpful with so much it was a great learning experience & lesson of my life with in myself that means so much to me.. my positives of looking back is greystar experiences of being here almost for 3 yrs now & I won’t ever look back or even want to move. Watching my boys grow up here at 1flatbush is a beautiful feeling. Greystar being there through it ALL.. n I mean all. Honestly the staffs just keep gettin better!! The manager, Mr.Brandon is one awesome person. Beautiful soul!! My sons continue to be happy with their stable home. Living their safe environment and loving their peace. Mr. Brandon helps so much with my life living at 1flatbush.. anything I needed help with he assist on helping with it all. Great person. The workers down to maintenance workers also the cons./security at front desk. Awesome!! The staffs they are just awesome. Highly recommend anyone moving into 1flatbush YOU MADE THE RIGHT CHOICE!!! Wonderful apartment, awesome location, and really kind staff. I wanted to give a shout out to Joshua, Richard, and Esteven for really going above and beyond to make this home feel like home. There are a lot of amazing options in the neighborhood and bigger buildings with fancier amenities, but the staff here are some of the most polite, respectful, and professional that i've ever had the privilege of working with. Richard is especially attentive and goes out of his way in the morning to help (packages waiting for you...holding doors open for pregnant mothers...positive and friendly).

1 Flatbush changed management companies in June and as a result the quality of care, proactive response, and overall service made a complete 180. My fiancé are very impressed with how the new team has handled everything related to the challenges that the pandemic presented this year. The location of the building is one of the best in the city when considering the access the parks, restaurants, grocery stores, and access to the subway.

The building is beautiful and the amenities are great. The front desk staff is amazing and friendly. I love that there is a package room since I'm barely home when the deliveries arrive. It's in a perfect spot with four different trains on the same block or if you want more options just walk down a few blocks. Plenty of brand name shops at the mall next door. The new management is awesome. They respond very quickly and professionally. The repairs are done efficiently and within a reasonable timeframe. They notify you of any changes rapidly with minimal inconveniences. I have been accommodated pretty well from moving in to staying here. Everything is working in the apartment from the day I moved in. The new management change to Greystar was the best decision they made. The best thing for me is being able to have my furry best friend live with me:)! NYC isn't really pet friendly so this is a dealmaker. Added bonus is that I can control my own central heating/cooling so I don't overheat or freeze. Enjoying living here.
