I’ve eaten a lot of BBQ in my lifetime, and let me tell you… this was the all-around best BBQ restaurant I’ve ever been to. Hands down.

The Food: We got the combo, with the ribs and smoked chicken. We arrived after the lunch rush, so the brisket was sold out. Rightfully so- because I heard it was delicious. We also got a chicken wing in the combo. The ribs were so juicy and just fell off the bone. The seasonings were mind-blowing. The chicken was cooked to perfection. *chef’s kiss* You don't need BBQ sauce, but they had a variety- I chose the spicy one, which was delicious.

Let me tell you about the sides. THE SIDES! The sides are to die for. The old-fashioned kale is A MUST. The coleslaw has the perfect balance of flavors- the best I’ve had. The cornbread- out of this world. It seems like I’m saying everything is over-the-top delicious, but it is. As I mentioned to the owners, I will dream about this meal tonight!

The Atmosphere: This cute spot looks like an old Jiffy Lube turned into an aesthetic BBQ establishment. As we sat down, we noticed that the front of the building had two all-glass garage doors. Genius! They also had outdoor seating, and we were so tempted to sit next to the cherry blossoms, but there was a chance of showers, so we opted to dine in. Their menu board is always up-to-date. When we walked in, we knew they would be out of their brisket because the menu board said, “Brisket available after 4 pm.” They also explained that there was a lunch rush and the brisket sold out.

The Service: Nicest human beings ever. I felt like I was talking to my next-door neighbors. Not only were they helpful when we were trying to figure out what to order, but they made everyone feel like family… like you just stepped into your auntie and uncle’s restaurant.

Parking: Plenty of parking!

I promise you that you won't regret eating here, so go try them out!

This is the place in my to do list for a long time and finally great pleasure!

Yesterday I was there and the guy in front of me ordered the rest of the brisket at 1:30 pm for a pick up at 4 pm. I had to order for a next day pick up.

I ordered almost all sides and everyone of them were above my expectations. Only the beans were a little sweet to me but after mixing it with the given sauce made it a great fit of my expectations.

Beef brisket was delicious, the service and the packaging was great. I highly recommend !

Oh man, one of the top Barbecue Pits in Northern Virginia and probably worldwide. Great variety of dishes, great customer service at an affordable price. My must try’s is the BRISKET, RIB TIPS and SWEET POTATOES. The juiciest BRISKET I have ever tasted. Good for the whole family. I strongly recommend this place. 👍🏻

I am sad because I have lived in Virginia for a year and I am only JUST NOW finding out about the amazing BBQ her at the Pit Stop! My husband and I had the Catfish combo and the Rib Tips as well as the banana pudding.... we ended up ordering another banana pudding to go as well as waiting for the brisket to come out and took some to go for later. Iam highly recommending them not only for the food, but for the staff that were so friendly and helpful when ordering. We will be back! I will have to try the Lemon cake next time!

Living in the Cascades area, I would drive down Cascades and smell the BBQ from inside my car. I finally had to give it a chance and SO glad I did. 10/10 recommend - Easily the best BBQ I’ve ever had! And the banana pudding.. to. die. for. Excellent service! Also, who wouldn’t love to support our local, family owned businesses too?!

The food is soooo good here, I couldn’t even get a picture of the meal before I started devouring it. Excellent brisket portions, the cornbread was sooooo airy and fluffy, the fries were perfectly cooked! The spicy sauce is divine!! Seriously so impressed by the quality and freshness of the food here. I was a lil disappointed the chicken was sold out. My fiancée wanted to also try the chopped pork but it was sold out as well. I can see why after trying the brisket. Will be coming back to try the other items! The service was incredible, very friendly folks working here. The spot is tucked away in the corner of the shopping center and there is ample seating indoor and outdoor.

Asked for sauce lady was like you won’t need none. She was so right. The best ribs I’ve had in awhile better then mission bbq by far. Such a great taste and good drink selection. A bit pricey but today what isn’t. It was 6 adults so not bad. I’d definitely blow some money there again.

We randomly found this place driving around and it was worth the stop.
Everything was so good. We got the Brisket with coleslaw and sweet potatoes plus fries. The super nice cashier hooked us up with a small plate for our toddler because he is a picky eater. He loved the chicken and Mac n Cheese. everything is definitely made from scratch. I wish we lived closer to this place because it was awesome. Very clean. Nice and clean bathrooms, which are very important! Friendly staff. Good drinks. Kid friendly. Etc etc etc. i could go on.

I decided to give them a try for the first time on Saturday @ 4:30 PM based on my friends recommendation and the recent posted reviews. They are all spot on. I mentioned the time because they were out of Brisket, chopped pork , chicken and cornbread for the rest of the day. To me this is a great sign the food is that good. I had the burnt ends and ribs. They were delicious. The meat has a nice char , flavoring and was so moist and juicy. Their homemade mild BBQ sauce is the most unique and favorable I have ever tasted. You really didn't need sauce, but the gentleman behind the counter asked if I would like mild or medium. This is my go to BBQ place from here on out . The next visit I will try the Brisket that gets rave reviews.

One word: Holy Smokes, it's awesome.

OK, not one word, but one word could not describe how great this place is. I am what you call a "BBQ aficionado." From Colorado, Texas, and Kansas City, to Memphis, Nashville, Virginia, South and North Carolina and many places in between, I've tried some pretty damn good BBQ. THIS place holds up with the best ever.

With BBQ, the pit master is king. Chains can never compete. The owner, Ron, is obsessed with quality and passionate about the customer experience. "My father taught me you can't put the juice back in the meat. People work hard for their money and I never selling anything left over from the prior day," not that Ron ever has anything left over.

Ron started with a road-side stand and quickly grew this business. His pride and love for his art flows through his eyes and right into his food. He fought the county for permission to install 3 massive oil-barrel pits and only uses hickory because "that's how it's done." Yes, it is, Ron, yes it is!

Everything is homemade and cooked to perfection. We started with the ribs, and OMG. Since it was near 5pm "brisket time," we ordered more ribs and waited for the brisket. Wow, it was worth the wait. The bark was delicious (but those that don’t like “lean” like we do, might find it a bit dry) and the hickory smoke permeated deep. It sold out within an hour and the whole place sold out and shut down a few hours later. His sauces were also unexpected and perfectly complimented the meat, which doesn't need sauce. But the adventure in BBQ arts doesn't end there.

Ron's obsession carries into his mac-n-cheese and delicious creamy cole slaw. The corn bread is unmatched too. And now for the best part. After he told me his success story, Ron came over and invited us to try his "real" passion - his cakes. Tonight was Cinnabon cake. Don't miss that and don't miss this place. Say “hey” to Mikayla at the cashier - she “got you!”

Great place for BBQ. The brisket was great; pulled pork sandwich is tasty and big enough for two people; and the smoked chicken was perfectly cooked, tender and flavorful but not at all dry. The staff was very friendly too. I’ll absolutely be back.

Been missing good bbq since leaving AL and this place was recommended by my mom group. I tried the brisket, catfish, beans, fries and Cinnabon cake. Everything was delish. The brisket was a little too smokey for my taste but it was seasoned to perfection and tender as can be. The catfish is the absolute best I’ve had in the DMV not made at someone’s home. I’d highly recommend The Pit Stop for your bbq needs!

The food is consistently great every time and I would rank it as some of the best in the south.

The chopped pork sandwich is my go to about every Thursday and I've never been disappointed.

I love this place! My favorite meal is the fried sausage with a side of sweet potatoes (they are just like my Mom’s candied yams). The sweet tea is proper “Southern” sweet. The staff is friendly, the tables are clean, and the food is exceptional.
