Took a leap based on the positive reviews, and will add to the applause. Aaron was super easy to work with, was very thorough in his assessment of what was wrong with my laptop and explained everything well.

Broken Gizmo recently replaced my laptop keyboard during a business trip to Minneapolis. It was extremely easy to communicate with them. They quickly diagnosed and fixed my problem. And they even bent over backwards to accommodate my rush order. Working with Broken Gizmo was a fantastic experience from beginning to end.

My six year old HP laptop's battery was nearly shot. In the old days I could swap out a battery on my HPs in a couple of minutes but of course nowadays you have to practically tear the thing down, which is beyond me and most people, I would think. I googled and found Aaron. I called him, he told me how to order the exact right battery from Amazon. I did so, texted him and arranged for him to install it while we shopped at Trader Joe's across the street. In the midst of our shopping he texted that the install was done. We settled up. The total cost to me was 90bucks including tax. My wife has the identical laptop. Last year when we lived in St. Cloud we took her laptop to a local computer repair shop. Her laptop was at the shop for the better part of a week and the cost was 150bucks.

Just about 15 minutes before Aaron closed, I called because my laptop shut down. The drive to him was about 10 minutes, but he remained open to look at my laptop. He went above and beyond to look at it, and give options that were helpful for me. He was very professional, and if you need help with your device, he's the one I highly recommend.

Another fan of Aaron! He was really affordable, fast, and great at trouble-shooting our problem. It turned out that when our son dropped his computer, he broke something on a board that had become obsolete. Aaron not only diagnosed it for free, he freely recommended a much better replacement that was not very expensive, we just paid him to recover the data and install a new hard drive.

We'll go to him for any help we need from now on!

Aaron has a very broad and deep understanding of computers, mobile phones, software, hardware and operating systems. He has repaired/upgraded my computers in the past and provides professional, courteous service at very reasonable prices. Most recently, he installed solid-state hard drives in my computers and they fly! Highly recommended.

Aaron is super helpful, super friendly, and super affordable! He went above and beyond to make sure my MacBook Pro was quite happy before getting it back to me. This is my new guy in town. I’d give him six stars if I could.

Aaron’s tenacity won out over a new iPad that would not accept the User Name & Password I created and I found out that after so many tries, Apple locks you out. Aaron figured out a work around that saved a trip to an Apple Genius Bar during Covid. Thank you Aaron for not giving up.

Broken Gizmo is run by one guy out of his apartment, but don't let that fool you. He is professional, polite and helpful. He makes efforts to save you money. I came in with a laptop that would have required nearly its own pricetag in repairs, and he directed me to a better performing, cheap laptop. He didn't charge me a dime! I love my new laptop, and it's thanks to him.

My laptop broke down sometime back and I even took it to one of major chain and authorized dealer to get it checked. They could not find the right problem and even said that SSD has died and presented very costly options for data recovery. They could not even open all the screws of the laptop to check the hard disk and returned my laptop asking me to get it open somewhere else. When I came to know about Gizmo, I took my laptop there. This is one man owned business but he is very much knowledgeable, really helpful and gives all the right advices. He diagnosed the problem and fixed my laptop in less than 30 minutes. That was a really amazing experience and saved me lot of cost of any data recovery need or to think about buying a new laptop. I will highly recommend him for any repair, software or hardware problems with anyone's pc or laptop.

I am from out of town and was at the convention center for a trade show when my laptop began to cat up. Tried to get help from HP and after getting very frustrated I called Broken Gizmo. They were awesome! Fast friendly service and my laptop was back up and running in a hurry at a very fair price!! Definitely recommend them!

The experience was frustrating, but Aaron was cool. The technician gave us a diagnosis, for free, on my ASUS laptop (the hinge and case had broken, so it wouldn't close without snapping in half) when we stopped by and was easy to talk to and friendly. He said he would be able to give us a recommendation for a part and a cost estimate later in the week.

We waited a while and didn't hear anything, so we called him and were told that he had had a technical difficulty and had lost our number. He was very pleasant about it and gave us a link to the part and ordered it for us.

When we received it we took it in, but ended up having to come again later as we needed the computer back that day and hadn't realized he was closing so soon (we were falsely under the impression he would be able to do it same day, 20 or so minutes). When we did get it in and picked it up sometime after he closed it in front of us successfully. but told us the part we paid for wasn't the correct one (a seller issue) and he had to do some gluing to get it to stay.

I was thrilled it closed and left. A couple of days later upon opening the computer and then trying to close it the same part of the computer broke (the hinge was still fixed, but the structural part of the casing was busted still) and we contacted Aaron again. He told us that that sucked, and he would look for a better from a more reliable seller.

At this point we were frustrated, partially due to not being able to use the computer anywhere properly and partially due to financial strain. He found the new part and it was pricier than the last, but offered to take care of it for no additional labor cost.

We got it to him and he fixed it within a couple of hours, but had to tape the frame of the case to keep it from popping. He explained ASUS must have some difference in manufacturing/serial numbers from when I bought the computer because the part still wasn't quite right.

However, the computer has been opening and closing successfully for a few weeks now, much to my delight. Aaron was pleasant to work with even though the experience was frustrating.

I would recommend his work to others, but keep in mind that part ordering doesn't always end up how you expect and same-day fixes are a strain on a one-man crew.

Aaron was persistent on searching for a battery for my older laptop. It took a few weeks but just as I was about to give up he found one. He tested the ones he had received and had to send one back as it was a dud. He also managed to get the touch pad back to normal after it had bulged up from an expanding battery. I will be recommending him to others.

After a quick search for locally owned computer repair shop I came across Broken Gizmo, I am not one who judges a book by his cover, I was not impressed/lured by the website design so i had to give them a call and later go meet the owner in person (yup, the owner ).

After a good animated chat i knew this was the person I was looking for.
After buying all my gourmet parts locally (Micro-center) I brought them all to Aaron and that is when you see what you wont see on a website or an add. Quality, meticulously neat and smooth quiet working system put together, knowledge and skills.

I am glad I landed here and hope others will give them a try as well, the best part is, if you have any further questions or inquires the guy is just a jump and hoop away from where ever you are and...You will be supporting someone that lives in the same zip code you are. Local. The way to go.

I got my dell laptop repaired for battery issue and mac book pro for windows installation on it. Both the services were very quick with resonable pricing. My both the laptops are working fine. I would recommend Broken Gizmo as a first choice for laptop repair in twin cities.

Broken Gizmo is a one-man owned business and this guy knows computers. My computer broke and I called him and he was able to look at my computer the same day. He was very professional and went above and beyond to get my computer working again (at an affordable cost!). I highly recommend going to Broken Gizmo for your computer problems.

A month ago I went around town looking for someone to fix my computer, but a lot of people wanted way too much for their services.

Long story short, I got my computer fixed for a reasonable price and I am completely satisfied with it.
