I have had Dr. Gonzales as my neurologist for 6 plus years. I was trying to call the office due to technical problems they had yesterday during my appointment. I looked it up and couldn't believe the negative reviews I read. I am not taking away nor am I negating the experiences people speak of. My experience with Dr Gonzalez is, he is very professional, cares about me as his patient and I feel like we are partners in my health care. I wanted to give my experiences. Again, every 90 days for over 6 years I do engage with he and his office staff often.Janet his assistant is also amazing and cares! There have been some hiccups, but never made me feel unappreciated as a patient. There have been a couple times the receptionist was short, but people have bad days. I am not making light of other experiences, again, I am speaking from my own and I would, and HAVE recommended people to Dr. Gonzales as I feel he is an asset to Florida Medical and he has helped me in the last 6 years. Thank you Dr. Gonzales and Janet!

I wish EVERY DOCTOR ON MY HEALTH TEAM was as kind, concerned, and caring as Dr. Gonzalez. I have been a patient of his for over 12 years and during those 12 years, I have seen many changes in his practice. I was referred to Dr. Gonzalez to get help managing my migraines during my pregnancy. He's been my neurologist ever since. Dr. Gonzalez has consistently showed concern about me as a person and concern about my support system and family. He was not just interested in my neurological diagnosis. I appreciate the active listening Dr. Gonzalez gives to my concerns, especially in this day and time of impersonal, digitized communication and everything being so rushed. His recommendations and interventions have restored a big part of my quality of life. When pain is alleviated, I can breathe again, and smile again.
Here's what I know. When I arrive to my appointments and greet office staff with positivity and politeness, usually, it is reciprocated. I do know his practice is very busy and there are times it can be difficult to reach someone over the phone. I don't attribute that to the doctor himself. There have been staffing shortages for the last few years regarding receptionists, medical assistants, and support staff. The few times there have been issues with support staff, I completed the satisfaction surveys Florida Medical Clinic used to give out and handled my issues that way. I personally, have not had an issue with Dr. Gonzalez that wasn't covered under graciousness and realizing that although Mr. Gonzalez is a physician, he is human and so are his staff members. This does not absolve them of their roles to be professional and positive, but I know I don't get things right everyday and I don't want anyone blaming me for something I cannot control. I also would hope someone would give me grace for having a rough moment or having a bad day. I believe in 2nd chances for certain things.
Again, I am not writing this review to disprove anyone's experience because I did not attend their appointments. I have only attended mine. I am indeed grateful for Dr. Gonzalez visiting me in the hospital after giving birth to my daughter. He helped resolve my mega migraine combined with an epidural headache because NO DOCTOR IN THE HOSPITAL could help me. I am thankful that Dr. Gonzalez gathers information from his patients besides just the diagnosis. There have been times I arrived to appointments and I was exhausted and depressed. The front office staff encouraged me, andgave me a Kleenex to wipe my tears. Dr. Gonzalez encouraged me as well. It made a difference. He is concerned about how my medications effect me because I am a mom and caregiver. He really cares. I appreciate you Dr. Gonzalez, your nurse, transcriptionist, and the office staff who work so hard to answer all of the calls, and check everyone in and out correctly under overwhelming circumstances.
I am sorry for those who did not have a good experience while visiting your practice. I am thankful and grateful that my mindset, outlook, point of view, and experience are different. Your practice has always been 5 stars to my family. I would refer you to my family and friends with the caveat of how busy your practice is, but if the person can wait for an appointment, it is worth it. Best regards.

Previous experiences with neurologists has found them to be very clinical and inattentive. Dr. Gonzalez is the exact opposite. He is very attentive. He looks you in the eyes and listens. He asks a lot of question, spends quality time with you and explains medical terminology so you can understand. His personality is very pleasant and upbeat.

I saw Dr. Angel Gonzales today after having been diagnosed with Bell's Palsy while away on travel. Dr. Gonzales proved to be highly knowledgeable and a very skilled communicator. He listened to my issues and provided detailed and well thought-out guidance. I am very happy to have received such good care and would strongly recommend him to friends and family.

Consistently, Dr. G has been compassionate, kind and an excellent diagnostician, enabling me to have a better quality of life. Dr. Gonzalez is a very compassionate and knowledgeable doctor who’s approach is with the best interest and treatment plan for his patients while recognizing treatment isn’t a one size fits all approach. He has always maintained a level of professionalism and dedication to advise and give the best possible treatment for you. I’ve never ever felt rushed despite the high volume of patients seen in the clinic. To date, I’ve been a patient of Dr. Gonzalez for 2 years and I couldn’t be more pleased.

Dr. Gonzalez helped me tremendously throughout two brain injuries I suffered in 2020. I had a traumatic brain injury from a car accident. Then a few months later I had a brain tumor removed. Dr. Gonzalez and his staff were very patient, informative, and understanding. He has a unique comfortable bed side manner. I’m very thankful I landed under his care. I highly recommend him and his team to future patients.

I thought Dr Gonzalez was great. Made me feel comfortable from the time he walked into the room. He listened to my issues and did a more thorough evaluation than any other neurologist I’ve seen. Very pleasant and professional. The office respected my time and I was in and out in less than an hour; Again, much better than most of my other doctors. The rest of the staff members were pleasant and very professional as well. I would recommend him to others needing neurological care.

I rarely write reviews but I had to comment here. I’ve struggled with my condition for several years. After a while I just lost hope. My wife took me to see Dr. González and since then he has changed my world. He is the BEST & has actually brought joy back into my life. Only doctor I know that listens and works with you. Go and give him a shot & you’ll understand.

Had my first visit today with Dr Gonzalez and all I can say is I have found myself a Neurologist. His staff was friendly yet professional. He took time to talk to me and ask questions and made sure I had sufficient information so I could leave feeling knowledgeable and great for the first time in a while. A doctor that takes time to explain things - how great is that.

Dr. Gonzalez is very professional, attentive and has impeccable bedside manners. He answered my litany of questions and was always very patient while doing so. I also appreciate the fact he was thorough in his examination of my symptoms to determine a diagnosis. I would highly recommend Dr. Gonzalez because his expertise is immeasurable.

Dr. Gonzalez is an amazing doctor! I had been struggling and feeling awful for years with what I thought was vertigo that came and went all the time. I was persistent and went to my primary first who gave me vertigo medication and it did not help. Then I went to the ENT and the ENT sent me to physical therapy who said that I wasn't showing any of the signals of positional vertigo. The physical therapist said that he recommended that I go back to my primary and said that they would probably send me to a neurologist. I decided to go straight a neurologist because I was getting tired all of the back and forth. Dr. Gonzalez was very thorough and asked me tons of questions as well as did an extensive physical exam. Then he took my BP standing and sitting and had me keep a BP journal. When he received the results of my journal, he determined that I have Postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS) right away. He knew immediately what I had been trying to figure out for years. Thank you so much!

I have been coming to Angel Gonzalez for years and this place is professional and awesome. Since the first time we met to go over all the procedures it's been like family. The best Neurologist you will find in the state of Florida. I have recommended a few of my friends and they love him and staff. Very clean and very friendly staff. Thanks for all you do doc.

I thought his bedside manner was poor. Until I realized his silence was because he was observing the patient's eye movements, body language, twitches, eye dilation, and patient's concentration (or lack of). He sent his 9 pg thorough dictation to my PCP and Care Team. I was impressed by his observations, suggestions & referrals. I will be continuing my care with Dr. A. Gonzalez
