North Port Shotokan Karate

This is one of the finest karate schools I have ever been associated with. Our oldest child took another form of martial arts when he was younger and it wasn't as good. So we have had experience with other schools. Soo and Paul are excellent instructors and care very much about the karate family. Our family does it together and we love the fact that we do competitions as well as an interclub competition. You can win perpetual trophies that do need to be returned before the next two years interclub attornment. That is something that everyone knows about when they receive the trophy as they have been used for I think, 30 years straight. It is sad when people do not return them . We work very hard in the dojo and we learn a lot of great stuff including self-defense for children and adults alike. We learn traditional Japanese style shotokan karate. We learn to have good form and be sharp and quick and our moves. We are usually dripping in sweat by the time we leave the building. It's a great workout and a great skill to know in life. Our children learn respect . If you are looking for a dojo or a martial arts class for your child or for yourself definitely check out this karate school! My family has been in this karate school for about two years now and we love it and don't plan on ever going anywhere else. A great place for ALL ages and families.

North Port Shotokan Karate Club is fantastic. Both Sensei Paul and Sensei Soo are kind hearted people who believe in hard work and dedication. They expect the same from their students. My children attend and we, as a family, value this club in our community. Reaching people of all ages and stages of life, this club is truly welcoming to all and very outwardly encouraging, you to get out of karate what you put in to it!! If you want traditional karate training and all it embodies, this is the place to be.

Excellent karate school. The sensei's are always very caring towards the students and there families. This karate school has amazing sensei's and an amazing karate family. You learn to defend yourself but at the same time learn how about how we are to try ànd perfect our character and become better people. I have been in this school for about two years now and have learned a lot that will stick with me for the rest of my life.

outstanding club, first and longest standing in north port. sensei paul does alot for the kids and families. fantastic karate instructor. highly highly recommend. they will let you try it out for free!

I have been doing karate on and off for the past year after going through some physical issues resulting from trouble recovering from spine surgery they always welcome me back with out question and are very understanding to what my abilities are.

Excellent school. Great discipline. Awesome instructor.

Paul Moon and his wife Sue advertise false information. She extremely lacks personal skills and business skills. When we pulled our kids out of this karate place, Sue threatened to call the police if I don't return my kids trophies. Based on our contract, j knew my rights and called for her. Funny thing is, police said I was right and Sue was wrong based on the contract signed. I would never recommend these people.

Please, however, note there is a difference between this karate play time session and the boys and girls club. The Moons use the b&g building because they have no where else (makes sense with their social skills.) The b&g club is fantastic.
