Hurricane Charley's Sushi, Raw Bar & Grill

I go out of my way to come to this place! Never disappointed, great atmosphere and great food. I usually get the sushi but I tried the shrimp and grits today and was amazing. Service always good. Often live music which is a plus!

absolutely amazing food! prices are high but soooo worth it! adult drinks were awesome too! friendly helpful staff, clean, tables inside and outside nearly at riverside, lots of wildlife nearby, we saw a crow and a baby bunny🐇 , good atmosphere

What can I say? The food was fabulous! Service was GREAT! The best location around Punta Gorda! We had Ceviche, Golden Flakes and Avocado Bomb. Best food we've had in a long time..... And we eat a lot! Food has always been great here, but don't miss the Sushi menu.

Outside seating had an hour wait so we decided to eat at the bar and found seats almost right away. The service even at the bar was AMAZING! I am super impressed !! The food was really good. Such an incredible atmosphere. We got the Lobster Overdose , which included two rolls, lobster bisque soup and coleslaw. We ordered both the hot butter lobster roll and the cold mayo lobster roll, both were incredible! The lobster bisque was a little spicy and definitely had a kick to it. The crab cakes were so good! Would def recommend Hurricane Charley's

If you can ignore the entrance (we were a little apprehensive)….you’ll be very happily surprised!
☺ We got there around 2:30 so it wasn’t busy. We were seated right away out by the water. Our waiter was JJ and he was polite, calm, cool & collected. He made some great recommendations. I ordered a margarita and he suggested a raspberry one they make and it was delicious- I ordered a second! We had the ceviche and clams as appetizers. My husband said the clams were just ok - definitely not the best he’s ever had. However, the ceviche was really good. The Category 4 Hurricane Sushi was excellent! My husband had the lobster roll (heated) and he loved it too.

Love their coconut shrimp (best around) and hush puppies. Sushi pretty much all tastes the same. Better to let ur sushi chef come up with something! Taylor was our waitress and she is awesome.

The service was great, the live music was just right. The food was good we had the clam strips(real yummy 😋) and the jambalaya (could have been a bit spicier). The view was outstanding. The prices were a moderate. I would recommend.

We arrived and put our name in for a table. There was a half hour wait so we went to the bar first for drinks and apps. The new heavy set bartender with her hair in a bun totally ignored us. She literally took care of the people on both sides next to us. So we went back to the front to wait for our table. We contemplated leaving. I don’t mind waiting however being ignored and not even greeted wasn’t ok. We told the hostess about the experience and were seated shorty after. Thank god we waited because we got the perfect table and the best most attentive server. Rachael was on top of it and we didn’t have to wait for anything. We loved our sushi rolls and she recommended one for us to try. For dinner I went with the mahi tacos as I’m addicted to them! Did not disappoint! They were absolutely delicious!! Thankyou so much again Rachael for such a great night!

Jan 2022... Atmosphere and view were wonderful. Service was attentive. The music the night we were there was great! And the Salmon BLT with Avocado was amazing!!! The bacon was candied! I had the red beans and rice as a side but it was just okay... I think the Tropical Coleslaw would be a way better match 😀 We also ordered the Hawaiian Roll and a flatbread. Everyone enjoyed! Looking forward to a return visit!

Good drinks, atmosphere, and food! Crazy Horse roll was awesome! The fried shrimp basket was very good as well.

Walked in on a Monday at 1:30 pm with temperature at 92 degrees. We got seated easily outside and was comfortable with lots of fans to keep us cool. Had a great view of the water which was relaxing.
Birds were flying in to the empty chairs and tables but didn't seem to bother the customers. The server was very friendly and helpful. Food was great and the price was as expected in a touristy area. Happy hour started 2pm but only included the drinks. We didn't see the discount on our bill even when we were there beyond 2pm. All in all it was still a great place to unwind and enjoy our 1st visit to Punta Gorda. We will be back.😍

Pretty cool place to have lunch! We were seated right away, not much wait when we arrived but then it got a bit busy. They have indoor seating as well, but just about everyone was outside enjoying this beautiful Florida day/weather.
They have a nice sushi menu, all sorts of seafood plates, soups, sandwiches and even pizza. Shotout to our server Mac- quick, courteous and friendly.
Very laid back and enjoyable place. Will definitely be back.

Great place for seafood. Lobster Roll and Lobster Bisque were exquisite! Large portion with market price of only $34! Margarita was too sweet for my taste and not very strong. Band too loud. Great view on the Peace River, especially sunset. Plan to come back for tiki bar and pizza, which I hear is very good.

Great live music, loved hearing it from the pool next door at the hotel before we even walked over to try dinner. Staff was very friendly and accommodating, and the food was delicious! We got the atom bombs as a starter and let me just say YUM. Varied menu and fair drink prices, the outdoor portion overlooks water. We enjoyed ourselves.

Very popular and busy on
Valentines weekend. Our first time there and will not be our last. We'll worth the wait for the table. JJ was our waiter and he was fabulous and very helpful!! Grouper dip for appetizer, Cajun dish my husband got and I got the Grouper platter delicious!!! The 32oz Mai Tai rum bucket amazing.. cannot wait for our next trip there. Oh...and the views of Charlotte Harbor are always a treat.

Stopped by here with my family after flying into the airport and was really
happy they had a variety of seafood and sushi on the menu. If we lived here this would definitely be 1 of our hangouts.

I don't know what I was expecting but not this. I shamefully admit the one glance I had at the youthful staff upon my way in was judgy. I thought how good could it be with children staffing the bar? I now can say it was without a doubt the best roll I have ever had. Highest praise you can get from me. Mmmmmm. Mmmmm.

I was debating between checking this place out but couldn't resist the look of some sushi they had.
I'm glad we did stop. We went on Tuesday late evening. The wait time was about 15 min to be seated outside. The service itself was very quickly and food was so delicious and fresh.

Would highly recommend Hurricane 🌀 4 &5 sushi. Was so good 👍

Oysters were so 👍 good as well.

We had a delicious dinner here tonight. The scallops were sweet, tender and very tasty with bacon, potatoes and corn. Rachael was a fun server and checked on our needs often. Will bring our next out of town company here.

Worth the wait if you need to. Amazing wings and other good food. Sushi and poke bowls are great. Fun atmosphere with great sunsets along the boardwalk. A must visit when in Punta Gorda.
