man oh man... This gym is super solid. It has all the parts of a world class training facility in a small package. I can't stress about how clean and organized the place is. The floors are sprung so you barely feel the take downs or any impact. Elijah has built a gem in SWFL. There are actual locker rooms for men AND WOMEN! and the bathrooms are super clean. Any blood on the mat gets cleaned up immediately and you aren't eating hair every 2mins when you are rolling.

As far as Elijah, he is one of the nicest owners and most technical instructors that you will ever meet. He will always roll to your level!

This will be one of the premier gyms in SWFL in no time!

I would highly recommend Lion up to anyone looking to learn BJJ. The instructors are very knowledgeable and encouraging to people who are brand new to the discipline of BJJ. Everyone in attendance is always trying to help their teammates learn and get better. Even the more accomplished students are very helpful and encouraging to new people, often offering their time to teach basic fundamentals to newcomers. Whether you're a white belt with no experience, or aiming for a black belt- this is a great place to train hard and learn. I also enjoy the community they are building here.

Dropped in for an open mat last Friday and we were welcomed like family by everyone. I could tell there is a lot of love and care put into this gym. Super clean and the mats have a nice spring to them! Great group of guys and savages on the mats!

We love it here. I have kids in 3 different classes and each class keeps the kids moving. Coach Elijah is great and knows his stuff (and everyones name its impressive). All the kids love learning new techniques or building on ones already learned. The facility is very clean and family friendly. Highly recommend.

So glad we found this amazing gym! The coachs are kind, patient, and make every class fun and safe! My daughters love the friends they have made and the sport as a whole. It's family friendly and a family run business. We are at the gym most days and I get to enjoy watching my girls grow, not just in the sport, but in their confidence and sportsmanship. A great encouraging place to start something new or continue growing skills.

Very well run program. Instructions are presented so kid understand them. Skills are diminstrated by kids and backup instructors. My granddaughter enjoys the class.

I train here with my 7 year old son. We have been training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for a year and a half, when our prior gym closed doors in North Port, we were on a search for a place to call home for several months. May 23’, we came across a Facebook ad for Lion up, came to check the place out the same day and immediately signed up. We love it here. The programs for kids, youth and adults is absolutely amazing. The coaches are very caring, patient, kind, stern, knowledgeable, and super friendly. The lessons are very clear, detailed and technical. If you are looking for the best place to workout, gain mobility, build physical confidence, strength, self defense, and be part of a clean, professional, family owned academy, look no further. “We Are Lions!”

Our son has been training here for the past 5 months and absolutely loves it! His confidence has skyrocketed over the past several months and he would go everyday if he could. Signed both my kiddos up (5 & 7) and they’re in love! Perfect to get their energy out after school, teaches team work, discipline and very cool techniques. The instructors here are very knowledgeable, have A LOT of patients, and make class very fun for all age groups! Best thing we found!

Both of my boys absolutely Love coming to Jujutsu! This is a family oriented gym that is very caring. Coach Elijah is a very skilled at training kids. My kids have learned so many new skills both on the mat, and he has instilled so many life skills as well.

So we were new to North Port and tried 3 other BJJ gyms including 1 in Venice and they were all terrible. Complete wastes of time and money. Then a friend recommended Lion Up BJJ. Lion Up is a family run state of the art gym that instantly felt like home. It’s very reasonably priced! Before Lion Up, my son was getting bullied and had no confidence and getting him to go was like pulling teeth. Now here we are 5 months later and he’s a completely new kid. We attend 5-6 days a week and my son has learned more in this short amount of time than he has in the year and a half attending other gyms. There’s not enough words to describe how amazing this establishment is. I love everything about Lion Up and anyone who trials it, loves it and signs up immediately!!

Awesome place for all levels and styles. Family owned and operated with great coaches. Just a good environment to learn and grow your practice. I’d recommend them to anyone wanting to learn self defense, strengthen their techniques, or just looking for a good workout. Coaches are very knowledgeable and easy to work with.

My boys (4-6) absolutely love their coaches. This is a family friendly atmosphere and everyone no matter what skill level is welcome and treated the same! We look forward to coming everyday we can! If you’re second guessing signing up you should not at ALL!

This place is the best !! My son just started coming here and he loves it. In just a short time he has learned so much. He actually looks forward to practice and spending time with the rest of the kids. The couches are amazing. The place is clean, organized, and the staff is excellent. I've done judo for 4 years and some jiu jitsu. Elijah is an amazing coach. He knows what he's talking about and is very patient. He does a great job in teaching and I would highly recommend this dojo.

Speaking of the dojo, the dojo itself is one of the nicest I've been to. They have taken great care in putting together something very nice. New mats, really nice place.
