Taco Trio

The food is great and came out fast, Cheers to the team on the kitchen! The new place very big, welcoming. Walls and tables are well organized, the food is half self service, you have to go get your utensils, water and sauces, which is nice. There wasn’t much contact with customers from the servers, which I felt kind of cold but I guess is all about preferences, the bar area is big and overall is a great place if you try to get a taste of Mexican food.

This place rules. The tacos are so flavorful and the hot salsas they make are exceptional. Ignore these negative reviews. In the pic I got 2 pastor and one carne asada and they all slapped.

Very tasty tacos! The Vegetarian ones are great. And the Mole taco was delicious. Our son loved the chicken quesadillas and our daughter her burrito. The guacamole was good. They offer a very nice salsa buffet Overall great flavors!

Best vegetarian taco place I've EVER had! I got a burrito with Calabasas and it was out of this world. My mom got the quesadilla, messy but good.

Covid: you walk up, order (no cash) and go to the patio where they bring you your food. Great atmosphere! Definitely recommend!

Authentic Mexican. I loved my first and then many visits here. They actually have very hot sauce as a choice. I love the tacos. Favorite is carnitas. Great flavor. The enchiladas are awesome. The prices are great too. Plenty of beverage choices and beer and a margherita choice. I love going and I love recommending it when I'm Ubering.

Great spot. And a favorite to go to. Food and drinks is always reliable. This is a counter order spot so service is minimal. One odd thing is you cant buy margaritas and beer at the counter you order food from and have to go to the bar. So unless you sit at the bar you order twice and have to work around the people eating/sitting at the bar. This could be streamlines but its a small issue.

The food is absolutely amazing. Fresh ingredients and all three of the tacos I had were just bursting with flavor. Great casual vibe inside too. The Pescado Chipotle was especially unique.

Was in the area and remembered this place was nearby. I'm so glad I stopped for lunch. The Carne Asada Burrito was exactly what I'd been missing. It tasted like being back in SoCal at my Mexican friend's house on a Sunday afternoon. It's basically upgraded counter service with a bar.

Dined in with my mom. Food was fantastic, there was a slight mix up while ordering and we ended up with 2 quesadillas accidently but Asiel(sp?) Was extremely gracious and immediately refunded for the one quesadilla and allowed us to keep the extra... Excellent customer service and food. Highly recommend!! 👏 👏 👏

The best tacos in northern New England by FAR. If nothing else, go for their amazing house-made salsa bar. I panicked when I moved to Maine and I couldn't find any good options for Mexican, and Taco Trio is really the only standout (or frankly even tolerable) option for authentic Mexican food. I came here today (probably my 30th visit in total), and they had Chilorio (pork in ancho chile) on the daily menu, and it was one of the best things I've ever eaten here. They *really* need to put that on the permanent menu. Apologies for a photo that's more about the aftermath than what we were served, but my excitement for it vastly outweighed my need to take the photo. EAT HERE.

Great taco place in South Portland. Picked up a shrimp, mole chicken, and fish taco - all were excellent. Chips were provided with the meal along with mango salsa which was also excellent. A must stop!

Fantastic tacos and burritos with an excellent salsa bar that includes grilled pineapples and mangos. This place has premium, flavorful tacos that has excellent preparation and time to make the meat savory and tender. Would 100% recommend this place. Hot salsa is 🔥 and delicious.

New location is beautiful. Food is delicious. Creative drinks and specials as well as all the classics you’d expect for tacos, burritos, quesadillas, sopes. They have a salsa bar with several options and cold drinks in coolers. Flan to finish it off. Yum, you will return again and again!

Best Mexican restaurant in all of Portland, Maine. Heafty portion sizes, fresh food, and reasonable prices. Arrive early though, during busy hours there's a line out the door.

Honestly, finally excited to have a traditional mexican spot on my radar in the Portland Area.

Living down south was used to many family run establishments, or trucks serving the authentic and traditional mexican flavors.

Love the service, the atmosphere is great, feels like a hole in the wall street spot but has amazing service, staff, and most importantly the food!

Order when you walk in and grab a table. Drinks can be ordered separately at the bar and offer a fantastic selection of tequila drinks. We LOVED the salsa bar. The chipotle salsa has the perfect smoke. It was my favorite. Create your own favorites for the chips that come with your meal. The portions are HUGE!! I ordered the quesadilla and took half of it home. My husband enjoyed a burrito. If you're in SoPo stop in and try it for yourself.
