I love this place! It’s the perfect combination of cafe and hang out space with tables and comfy chairs, bar stools. And the food and staff are amazing. From pastries, muffins, quiche , coffee and teas. But the biscuits are insane! So fluffy and addictive ! Today I had the sweet potato, caramelized onion quiche. Treat yourself! You won’t be disappointed.

Do you enjoy buttery pastry and jam?
Would you like a sky-high cheddar biscuit, moist on the inside with a sweet little crunch on the outside?
Could you use a crumble?
Or a sea-salt-sprinkled chocolate chip cookie?
We tasted love, butter, and fresh local ingredients in every bite of every treat from Source. If you have ever heard of Gloucester, you are close enough to plan a trip just for the baked goods. We did. We bought a box of goodies before hitting the beach, and we left the beach in time to buy more before heading home. Not beach-bound? The table space is cheerful and immaculate. So jealous of the Gloucester locals! I am still dreaming of the hand-pies.

Their food is great. Their coffee is amazing. Their wait staff is usually nice but also kind of like folks at a yoga studio. There is a lot going on here. The interior is cute. I can't decide if it is worth the general moodiness. But also, people get to have feelings. And generally, it is lovely here.

Source bakery is our spot!! Julie has created a super cozy space with the best coffee, handmade pastries, and breakfast/lunch options. Great vibe and exactly what Gloucester needs. <3

Delicious vegetarian breakfast sandwich and super sunny cafe. They serve Little Wolf coffee, locally roasted in Ipswich, which is good (more acidic than chocolate) and the service is very friendly. They also have a daily assortment of hand pies, quiche, sandwiches, sweet pastries, muffins and or coffee cake. Good spot to set up your laptop and work as well with ample space in the dining room.

Source Bakery has been an instant favorite for our household. We love stopping through to get a weekend treat with the kids, and it's also a great spot to set up for some remote work - don't leave without one of their biscuits, preferably in breakfast sandwich form! Most recently, we special ordered a delicious vanilla/berry jam cake - absolutely delicious.

Met up with friends at this lovely new bakery for breakfast yesterday. This charming space is conveniently located, open, fresh and tastefully decorated. The owner and staff were welcoming and very attentive. Our breakfast sandwiches and coffee cakes were delicious, and I left with a box of the best looking cookies to share with our small neighborhood book club. Great way to spend a Sunday morning. Best wishes on your new venture!

Local here, I actually like the vibe of this place! As compared to the other shops similar to this one, this space is comfortable. Food was great too. For me though, it's the atmosphere. Definitely nothing else in town like it.

Cinnamon rolls were an absolute win.
Breakfast biscuits alone are worth revisiting.
Coffee is 10/10 Little Wolf beans.
Fresh and homemade everything!

How nice to see someone go into this beautiful space on Duncan St. There are several table set-ups and makes a great place to work remote for a few hours or meet a friend for a special treat.

What's even better is when you walk in, you are warmly greeted by a friendly staff ready to service you from their fresh showcase of baked goods. It smells amazing in there and it's hard to make a choice as you will want it all! From their incredible biscuits and biscuit breakfast sandwiches, to the best cinnamon rolls in town, to delicious fruit muffins, turnovers and mini pies...plus cookies and quiches too! I love how they change up the flavors of their fruit and vegetable items and also celebrate holidays i.e.: over St. Patrick's Day they made Guinness Meat & Potato pies (they were incredible).

Julie and Ashley are humble, and gracious at the outpouring of community support. I noticed yesterday they have been awarded. a co-op type grant that will allow them to expand into lunch, specialty coffee drink and perhaps open up the additional space they have - excited they have a nice vision for their business.

Congratulations on your success and all the best with your grant, posted here. Hoping you reach your landmark soon!

Beautiful female owned bakery! Warm and inviting space. Delicious egg sandwiches made on a freshly baked warm biscuit! Will definitely be back!

Biscuits are delicious - crusty outside and super moist and flavorful inside - and the egg sandwich is definitely a hearty portion! Staff, especially Kevin at the register, are super friendly. And, the coffee is usually great! (Sometimes the team brews it too watery, which is a shame when they are using the BEST beans ($25/lb Little Wolf beans out of Ipswich) but when they do not water it down, it is so yummy). Quiche I would argue is overcooked so I stick with the biscuits...

The only thing I would love to see is a more light, refreshing decor/interior of the bakery. I believe the owner is growing the business slowly, prioritizing the food and its quality over aesthetics, and so any kind of rehab is probably on hold while she continues to gain a following and revenue (this is my assumption...). BUT I hope she continues to grow and finds the resources (and the interest) to make it fresher inside. Do not get me wrong, the space is huge and spacious which is great, but when I think of the interiors of other bakeries I love (sandpiper, bonny breads, etc), Source has some work to do. I think even if she painted the walls a lighter color, replaced the tables with some interesting bistro tables and chairs (maybe even Parisian style ones!) that would make a huge difference...

I've been a customer of Source Bakery for a few years and I'm so thrilled to see them open a brick-and-mortar. I had the biscuit breakfast sandwich and apple hand pie during their soft-opening today and both were incredible. I can't wait to see what's to come in their new space!

The best bakery in Gloucester. Julie made a delicious espresso chocolate cake for my boss’ birthday, and my wife and I stopped in for breakfast sandwiches a few days later and they were the best breakfast items I’ve ever had. I had a warm crusty and soft biscuit with a little pat of butter and delicious blueberry jam- it was one of the greatest bites I’ve ever had. This is my new favorite spot in the whole world.

Amazing addition to the north shore! Great selection of pastries from local sources. Their hand pies are truly delicious. I will be trying to recreate their pie crust until I die.

This place is outstanding. They are very friendly, all the baked goods are fresh and extremely delicious. I honestly had the best breakfast sandwich of my whole life this morning. The cinnamon bun was also incredible. Plus they serve little wolf coffee! It’s cozy in there and feels like a place you can sit and relax for a while. Lots of outlets for working.
