Indy's Sandwich

Ordered take out, absolutely loved my little red riding hood. Hands down one of the best sandwiches in the greater Portland area. Well done! Cannot wait to come back and try more.

This is such a hidden delight! I am so happy I happened to stop and give it a try, this was the best sandwich I’ve ever had. I ordered the Henny Penny. At first I thought how on earth can I even bite this giant glorious sandwich but gave into the messy deliciousness.

Great atmosphere for dining in. Very friendly staff! I got my sandwich fairly quickly also.

Quirky menu with some Asian flare. Vietnamese coffee was sooo good. The sandwich creations are so unique and delicious- I want to try everything!!

First meal we had, and it was the highlight of our day. We went specifically for breakfast, and had the Spam breakfast sandwich, Kai Kata breakfast sandwich, Pork Wonton soup (special) and Vietnamese coffee. Sandwiches were astounding. Wontons were good (would prefer a filling with a little more than just pork, but the broth was refreshing). Vietnamese coffee was strong (as it should be). Lots of reviews here for lunch, but really breakfast deserves equal praise.

I just love this place. Creative sandwiches that are always delicious. I know I should try more options from their menu but I just can’t help myself and always end up getting My Father’s Dragon—so good!!! Super cute inside and our food is always ready so fast. Vietnamese coffee is smoky and not too sweet, perfect.

Thanks to the publicity on WMTW I heard about this place and today I was in the area. Its a great little sandwich shop with a creative take on their menu. I had the Lion and the Mouse, a tasty Cuban sandwich variation. The truffle oil fries were perfect as well. They do have a few tables inside so you can sit and eat there as well. Deserving of five stars. Thanks!

The whole place is so cozy but the service is the best like they accidently forgot to put avocado on my sandwiches (got 3 of the exact same) and they actually remade them all and gave me back the ones without avocado so I ended up getting 6 sandwiches and one of the workers brought me this delicious little guac type snack to eat while I was waiting. I’m actually in the parking lot writing this review because the whole thing was so sweet. I’d have been fine if they had just put some avocado on the side and sent me on my way but they take pride in what they do.

Clean, fairly quick service, excellent sandwich. I had "The Ant and the Grasshopper" -- A BLT with pesto, goat cheese, raisins, & Balsamic glaze. Really tasty.

We finally tried Indy’s Sandwich, and all we can say is… WOW.

These were some of the best sandwiches we have had in a very long time. The flavors they have created through carefully combined ingredients are just unreal. Don’t walk — run to Indy’s for one of their delicious creations.

We ended up ordering My Father’s Dragon and the Henny Penny and honestly, we can’t deicide which one was better. Absolutely loved the fig spread on My Father’s Dragon and the rest of the ingredients were delicious, but the fried chicken sandwich was also impeccable. Can’t wait to be back!

PS: Good luck deciding on a sandwich! We were overwhelmed by the options; everything looked divine.

Indy’s is a great little sandwich spot in South Portland. The atmosphere was quaint, clean and colorful. Very trendy! There was parking, but it filled up quickly. The staff was friendly, informative and attentive. I got my sandwich to go but there was seating available inside— in fact, if I had the time to stay and eat, I probably would have. Their menu is broad and diverse, so you can find something for everyone. This is also the first time I had Nitro Thai Cold Brew Tea and it was delicious! I will definitely be back!

Can’t believe I’m now finding out about this restaurant. First time ordering I got Tam and Cam, Henny Penny, chicken wings, chicken tenders and fries. The 2nd time I ordered the Little Red Riding Hood and Chicken Wings.

Henny Penny was on the sweeter side (for those of you who don’t mind ), but the chicken was crispy, meat was juicy and thoroughly cooked. Tam and Cam was good, it tasted exactly like Banh Mi in a panini form. Chicken tenders and fries were crispy and not dry. Do not pass on the chicken wings! Absolutely nostalgic- my grandma made her wings like these. Little red riding hood was also very good. Indy’s understand what consistency is 🏆

The food was so good, we felt very welcome and comfortable, and it was super cute in there. My wife, my daughter, and I loved the sandwiches we got, everyone was very happy!

Best sandwich I've had since moving here. Can't wait to come back. Love the environment and welcoming feeling. I'm super critical of sandwiches and my Cubano was fantastic. Thanks Nick!
Update: I've been back 5 times now. Every time I've had something different and it's been absolutely fantastic each time. DO NOT CHANGE ANYTHING when you order the sandwich is perfect the way it is.

Stopped here while traveling in Portland for work, and I can honestly say it’s the best sandwich I ever gotten in the Portland Area. Staff are wonderful and the food is worth it. Highly suggest Indy’s.

Great place to stop for lunch, coffee, or tea! A local favorite. Beautiful deco. Inside and outside seating. I would call the cuisine fusion sandwich. Lots of yummy looking grilled sandwiches, cold sandwiches and wonton pork soup. I had the wonton pork soup. It was delicious. The noodles were a bit soggy but the flavor was outstanding. The winner of todays lunch the sample of sweet butter crostini I was offered. Wow! Get a bag!!! Thank me later!!

Didn't rate atmosphere as I've never dined in, I get take out for lunch.

I have had multiple sandwiches and they have all been great...Thumbelina, The Lion and the Mouse, the Henny Penny and my personal favorite the fried chicken curry rice(not a sandwich).

The Henry penny is a fried chicken sandwich. Had it today, big sandwich hard to finish, slightly messy, but tasted so good I didn't put it down til I was done! I'll put a picture of this sandwich opened up.

What I personally like the most is their fried chicken they use is boneless chicken thighs! For sandwich and the curry.

I came during weekday lunchtime; it was busy but most were take out orders so the wait for my food overall was not too long. The place is also very clean & has a great atmosphere as well! The parking lot is kind of tough to get into during lunchtime. My sandwich had great taste and was very filling. I also had great service. Highly recommend Indy’s, I’ll be back to try some other lunch items !

I just got a grilled sandwich and it was really good, I highly recommend this place.

Think classic Italian American deli meets contemporary Thai fusion. Loaded with all the flavors it’s easy to scarf down their hardy sandwiches and remain full for hours. Most all their ingredients are locally sourced. They provide a handful of perfectly paired beers, wine, regular or nitrogen infused Thai Ice Tea and Coffee.

I’ve always disliked nitrogen brew coffee, until I tried Indy’s. First time I’ve ever seen nitrogen brew Thai coffee (and it’s amazing! The nitrogen lightens the cream to give the drink a latte texture.

Don’t take my word for it, go and try!

I'm not even a sandwich person, but both of the sandwiches that I've had here have been suburp. They also have good Thai and Vietnamese coffee. Yum!
