Doc’s Seafood and Steaks

We went on an inshore fishing charter Memorial Day morning. It was awesome we caught speckled trout and some amazing catfish. Our guide cleaned and bagged it. We took it to doc’s and they cooked it all up for us in our preference and we ordered their amazing sides to go with our fish. They did an excellent job and it was cool they were so used to this type of thing! Even if you don’t catch your own fish, this place still a spot to check out.

Shrimp lovers rejoice! We ordered both fried and grilled shrimp, and they were both fantastic. Also enjoyed crab cakes, broccoli, and a cup of gumbo. The open air beachy environment is perfect for sports games and social dining. Everything was so good we finished with a slice of cheesecake.

Initially, I didn't have high hopes for Docs, assuming it was just another tourist trap. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the exceptional service, outstanding food, and delightful live music, making it a memorable experience.

I loved the atmosphere the food was amazing...I started eating b4 I took a pic but it was so good !!! Again the red plate had as much as the yellow plate...I would eat here again!!!

We got in pretty quickly with our reservations. The atmosphere wasn't very relaxing but great if you're a football fan. I ordered the pick 4 feast and chicken sandwich platter and delicious drinks. The good news was that the fried shrimp was phenomenal, and the gumbo was spicy and good. The crab cake was a little dark(okay burnt) and the stuffed crab was beautiful but mushy inside. Good chicken sandwich and fried fish was hot and fresh. Go when less busy if you can.

Wonderful place for seafood & Steak with a great atmosphere inside & outside dinning with and outdoor play area for kids. There moto the best shrimp 🦐 in the whole wide world so I tried there shrimp poorboy & it was delicious 5 ⭐

My wife and I stopped in for dinner as they advertise the best fried shrimp. It did not disappoint. The shrimp was fresh and breaded nicely. The fries were delicious too. The portions were generous. Would come back and would recommend

The food is INCREDIBLE, I had grilled shrimp, stuffed crab and grilled fish. Chris’s service was phenomenal, had a great chat. Thank you!!

I’ve been coming to Orange Beach for over 20 years and have often seen the fly-over ads for Doc’s. Had never tried it until this week. It was DELICIOUS and made me regret never having gone all these years. The fried shrimp really are the best in the civilized world, no exaggeration. The gumbo is also world class! Our family enjoyed the fried fish and the hamburger steak as well. Fries are great as well. Good, fast service! Our kids loved Doc’s as well and even requested to go back a second time, so we did! We will now be adding Doc’s to our rotation every time we come down! 10/10, highly recommend!

My wife and I made the trip to Gulf Shores for our anniversary several weeks ago. Eating at Docs's on our last night on the coast has become a family tradition...and like usual, we had our dinner there. Rich was our waiter and did a fantastic job making sure everything was good and to our liking. The food was (as usual) phenomenal! My wife had the "Best Shrimp in the Whole Civilized World," and I had the Grouper Julie. We finished it all off with their awesome Cheese Cake! We can't wait to get our toes back in the sand, and to eat at Doc's again! Thanks for a great place to eat and great customer service!

Best fried shrimp I’ve ever had! They claim to have the best and they absolutely do! Crab cakes are amazing as well. We were too excited to take pictures right when we got our food so the plates are partially eaten! The grilled shrimp is cooked perfectly and the hush puppies are delicious. The fries have a really good seasoning and crispy texture. We had to wait for about an hour for a table because they were busy but it was well worth it. This was our first time in Alabama and we will definitely come back to Docs next time!

The food and the service were outstanding. Hubby had the seafood platter. All of the seafood was fried to perfection. Not at all greasy or heavy. The Cole slaw was the best I've ever had along with the gumbo.

I don't love seafood, so I had chicken tenders and fries. It's unexpectedly amazing! Tasted like a fresh chicken breast, also friend to perfection. Not greasy or heavily breaded with great flavor.

We came in early, so it wasn't loud. Fantastic service, right down to the lesson on making your own cocktail sauce. The servers were extremely friendly and helpful, providing us first-time visitors with many recommendations on fun things to do and other places to dine. I highly recommend Docs.

Our meal at Doc’s was the favorite of the week!!! We had raw oysters, gumbo, crab legs, steak and seafood platter. EVERYTHING was phenomenal! Even the sides were perfect! Cole slaw and hush puppies were top notch! After eating crab legs at four different restaurants, these were the absolute biggest, best and most affordable! We loved it and will probably eat here again before we go home!

We stopped in to try the fried shrimp, which we had heard about from friends and we had seen advertised in numerous places as the best fried shrimp in the civilized world! A pretty big claim, but they lived up to it! The fried shrimp was delicious and the sides were equally good. The mac and cheese was very good, the fries were excellent! Everything we tried was very tasty. I would also like to recommend the key lime martini, if you like key lime pie, you will love this drink! Our waitress was Kellie and she was extremely helpful and made our visit that much more enjoyable! We will ask for her when we come back!

Great place for seafood and the steaks looked really good too. Blackened mahi mahi was good. Great selection of beers too. Fantastic live music from Mel Knapp(sp?). Games for the young at heart!

Okay I didn’t get a chance to take pictures of all of the food, but let me tell ya, the food here is awesome. The firecracker shrimp and the seafood platter was DELICIOUS. Our server Drew was awesome too. Kept checking on us, bringing us beer, but damn the seafood was great!!!! Check this place out!!!!!

Hubby got the bakers dozen and said was the best shrimp he's ever had. I got the hamburger steak, came with gravy and mushrooms. Was delicious! Service was great.

Friday night family seafood dinner! Wow did this place know how to handle the masses. We ordered our kids meals first and it was on the table within 5 mins, probably ready in 3 actually. Great food. Our server, Richard was great there when we needed him but gave us space too. Drinks always full. Nice spot with live music outside on the weekends it seems.

My husband and I were enjoying some sun at the beach and saw a plane fly by with a sign behind it saying that Doc's Seafood and Steaks had "The best fried shrimp in the entire civilized world!" OH MY LORD!!! They were not kidding! By far the absolute best fried shrimp I've ever had in my life! Yes, it was a little pricey, but definitely well worth it. If I'm ever in this area again, this will be a MUST to eat at again!!

Ate here on Thanksgiving and got the Thanksgiving Specials they had. Good food and large portions. And our waiter Drew was EXCELLENT.
