The Flying Harpoon 2

We wanted Po-Boys and Oysters - so this was the natural choice! We also love the fun atmosphere with dollar bills and drawings. We were excited to see a few new items on the menu and got the Fried Okra for an appetizer. The Gumbo and Shrimp Po-boy spot on and the Oysters fresh. The restaurant was very busy while we were there. Our server Chris stayed on top of it all and did it with a smile- and he was slammed. Seems like it is always stupid busy now for brunch and dinner times. Will make it a point to go during mid-afternoon.

We were looking for live music and Po Boys and chose The Flying Harpoon 2.

The music was upstairs and standing room only, so we enjoyed some music with a drink, then headed downstairs for the food. My husband and I shared the 9 inch Roast Beef Debris Po Boy and Crawfish & Crab Cakes. The Po Boys had a bit of bite, and they were DELICIOUS on the Leidenheimer bread! We discovered that the Crawfish & Crab cakes were handmade each morning and it showed in the deliciousness as well! Will definitely be back!

Went back a couple of days later and got the Jambalaya. It was so good!

Absolutely enjoy my time here… I’m not sure what it is about a dive bar but you just feel close to it! Chris and Malyn took VERY great Care of me and my girl Sandy. I had a Sierra Hazy IPA, a dozen oysters along with a cup of gumbo and a Bloody Mary made by Chris who over heard that I never had one before! Enjoyed learning about the conecuh sausage made in the sweet home of Alabama! It was such a great experience! Will be back to grab a dozen more oysters and kick it with the flying harpoon 2 crew thanks! 🙏🏽

Wonderful experience! We stepped into a world of live music and a feeling of home. Definitely go on a Sunday afternoon and use the upstairs entrance. The fried platter was exceptional! I'll definitely be back!

We were staying at the Hotel Indigo and Julie the Desk Clerk recommended the Flying Harpoon 2 and we weren’t disappointed. She said it was a low key place that wasn’t a fancy place but laid back and great food. Staff were great and friendly and asked if we needed water for our 2 dogs. Oyster Fritters were tasty and my wife’s flounder fingers and my fried oysters and shrimp were on point. Only gave it 4 stars for atmosphere because it isn’t a fancy place but that’s not a bad thing because these places usually deliver on good food.

Fun dive bar! I don't personally enjoy raw oysters, but the staff shucks them at the bar--so they are fresh! We had po-boys. The roast beef was unbelievable-melts in your mouth! The flounder and shrimp were also delicious. The live music was also good! We rode bikes from Gulf State Park. Everyone left happy!

Fun funky joint!! The pilot drink will definitely get you flying! The Kernfish Krawbread is a must try!! And the stuffed tator is excellent! I totally dig that the menu is different than everyone else in town.

First, we went during lunch and service was a little slow. But there was only one woman manning the bar and serving all the tables. So I definitely told her some slack. And the wait was not terrible by any means. But we would have ordered more drinks had we had the chance. In any event, we saw this place from the road and just loved the "dive bar" look. Plus they claim to have the best po boys within 70 miles. I ordered the half and half po boy, which was half fried shrimp and half fried oysters. Dang it was delicious. The French bread has the perfect crunch and the seafood was fresh and lightly fried. Honestly, I could eat one everyday. It was pricey, but so worth it. And they had some decent selections of kids food like chicken and fried fish to satisfy my kids. I recommend stopping just for the local vibes alone.

Would rather have a choice on tip. You never know. I might give more than the automatic add-on tip. But the food was great!

This place is wonderful. The food is phenomenal, the staff is FANTASTIC. We were in town for 9 days and ate here 3 times. It is a "dive bar" or at least in Wisconsin terms, but that's what makes it all the better. Super friendly, phenomenal food, good drink prices and a time you won't soon forget.

Went by here for lunch and had the best time and food I didn't think was possible. We were early for lunch so it wasn't crowded yet. We have been to the other one and I admit I had some reservations about going there, simply because sometimes another location doesn't stand up to first impressions of the first place you went to. No worries here. This place was just as good if not just a smidgen better. From service to food, it was all good.

Delicious crab and crawfish cakes. Flounder was good too. Large portions also. They serve chips with a sauce instead of fries, which was a really great idea. The chips were light and crispy. Service was great. Recommended by Holiday Inn Express Hotel Staff.

We had a good time and the food is very tasty and fresh. The oysters were amazing and super yummy. The chicken wings we laughed cause they are so tiny but very good just need more celery and carrots.

Best food of the whole vacation! We had Boudreau's Oysters, shrimp po'boys, and swamp sauce. We got the recommendation from our concierge because it's a local favorite too! We were on our way home so I couldn't enjoy a drink but people were crazy for the adult beverages as well. Absolutely will go back more than once next trip!

Little hole in the wall. Perfect for locals but perfect for people looking to explore.

One of the best Po’ Boys I’ve had outside of New Orleans. I had the crab cake Po’ Boy and a side of AWESOME!!! Greens! Service was ok - but straight to the point.

Went on a night they aren't usually open and even with short staff and long wait, the food was definitely worth the wait. Excellent seafood. Jennifer was running one level alone as well as the bar for the entire restaurant and she was calm , cool and collected. Will be back for sure.

Delicious food! We had Redneck Rockefeller Oysters (*****), shrimp and Crab cakes. The atmosphere was chill , service was excellent!
