Per my conversation with the employees on 9/18/22: They generally play magic the gathering on Sundays starting at noon and play warhammer and similar games on a fluctuating schedule based on interest. The two employees I spoke with were very friendly and easy to get along with. Among other things they have magic cards (no singles); rpg books and dice; and wargame sets, paints, and figures. Quite an array of board games though space limits what they keep in stock. I strongly recommend them if you want to add to your collection.

Phantom was my first ever comic shop 35 years ago, and is still my favorite. Finest curated collection of TPBs and graphic novels, and now I'm reaping the very extensive children's collection for the next-gen kids in my family!

Top notch store with loads of stock and VERY kind and friendly employees. If we lived closer, we would be here more often. Every time we come into the city, we make a special stop here to visit and also their comic book store across the street. We are always happy with the selection and have a nice chat while there. We have also gotten good deals on clearance items as well. We will continue to come back and shop here when we have the opportunity.

This is such an awesome game store to come to. It's easily worth the walk (or bus ride) from north Oakland, and the workers are both knowledgeable and friendly. They have a great selection of board games and miniatures within the store, but in addition to their selection of products, are more than willing to place an order for you if necessary. I plan to continue frequenting this store until I graduate.

This place is a little hard to find but if you're looking for anything related to board games this is the place to shop! I mainly come here for their huge selection of Table Top RPG miniatures and painting supplies, but they also have a wide selection of dice sets in all sorts of colors. Come down on Sundays when parking is free!

The smaller urban space and broad range of interests covered necessitates a thoughtful selection, so, they might not always have every unusual figure or supplement you need on hand. However, they make up for this with fast turnaround on special orders. Out-of-this-world customer service and a welcoming, inclusive space for "open table" games makes it a business worth supporting.

A bit run down, but an excellent selection of tabletop and board game stuff at the best prices I have found in the city. You can definitely get Vallejo, citadel, and army painting stuff here as well as dnd, warhammer and reaper pieces.

Every Phantom of the Attic location is great. The staff is always knowledgeable and friendly. They don't talk down to you and seem to really enjoy the conversations of like minded individuals. Not your typical nerd shop that talks down to you and makes you feel inferior because you misspoke and don't know something. If only they would open a vintage video game store....

Phantom has a few things going for it that makes it a great destination for gaming. Speaking as a Warhammer 40k player and tabletop RPG collector, their selection is really, really good. The amount of obscure, old, and specialist tabletop games is awesome to a collector like me, and they do a really good job of keeping hard to get 40k stuff in stock.

Great selection on dice, singles and sets. They go above and beyond there to find you what you’re looking for, and all in all it is one of the nicest gaming stores I’ve ever been to, with some of the nicest employees. Worth braving Oakland for!

Phantom of the Attic is the one of the best hobby and tabletop game stores in the city. The staff is always quick to make suggestions or help you find something. They can order an item if they don't have it. It's fun stopping in regularly to check what interesting used RPG items they've got in since the last time. Phantom also hosts Magic: the Gathering, Dungeon Crawl Classics, and Dungeons & Dragons events.

Great first time experience as a board gaming novice. Shop was tidy and clean, and everyone there was really easy to talk to! They were very passionate about games & recommendations. Will definitely be back!

Longstanding regular customer from out of town (Germany) for the last 26 years. Great place for new games, used games, playing games or having a nice chit-chat with the proprietor or other patrons. Top-notch! Iam always looking forward to seeing the Phantom when I am in Pittsburgh.

RPG books, board games, trading cards, miniatures, paints. And if it's in their wheelhouse they'll totally try to get it for you. Super friendly staff, totally care about their customers.

There's a second location across the street that sells comics which is also totally rad. I got some Conan graphic novels there that are *dope*.

Great LGS for magic players. Prize support is aimed more at a less competitive environment. If you're looking for a fun and casual spot to play some cards in the Oakland area, this is your spot. I'd love to see a little more support for competitive play. But all in all it's a solid experience. Two thumbs up.

Great little game shop with a wide variety of items. I go there for Friday Night Magic (MTG); they organize the drafts very well, and the players that attend are friendly and very welcoming to newer players.

Awesome selection of card and board games, die of all colors, card sleeves, varieties of magic card bundles, 40k figurines and more. The staff are friendly and helpful and host events weekly or more often.
