Loved it. We chose the bowls and they were satisfying and delicious. This is a counter service restaurant which means you order at the counter & then go find a seat and they will bring your meal to your table. Their chips and salsa were perfect.

Gets 5-star on everything. Wonderful food. Great taste and wide variety of Mexican dishes. The people were smiling, friendly and welcoming. Food not too pricey.

What a serendipitous find driving through Banner Elk! We ordered chicken and steak steak tacos, a birria burrito, and a carnitas burrito. The chicken in the tacos was wonderfully moist even though it was chicken breast that I definitely thought was going to be dry. My kids gobbled them up and my husband and I split the remaining chicken taco. What a treat! My husband loved his carnitas burrito and all of the choices for toppings. So much flavor!
My birria burrito was exceptional and had all of the complex flavors you would expect from birria. Don’t sleep on the salsa bar! There was a spicy orange sauce that was amazing. The black bean pico do gallo was also good. I can’t forget to mention the queso- we all loved the queso! This was perhaps our least expensive meal this week, including breakfast, and we even took to go boxes. We will most definitely be back when we come through North Carolina again!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at this amazing place and I have to say, I was blown away by the entire experience! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm and friendly smiles from the staff. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting! But let's talk about the food - oh my goodness, it was delicious! Everything is bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection. I was impressed by the variety of options on the menu, catering to different tastes and dietary preferences. It's rare to find a place that can please everyone, but this place did it.

The food was excellent, fresh, and the service was exceptional! We came during a slow period of the day and everything tasted and looked like it had just been made. The portions were very large and everyone was so nice. We were just traveling through but it is definitely a place we will come back to when visiting the area again.

My girlfriends and I loved the food and the service! We all had bowls and they were so delicious and the portions were generous. We are definitely coming back and we highly recommend this Mexican restaurant!

Just left this restaurant and the food was terrific! Service was also great from the owners who were patient with us as we ordered as this was our first time visiting. Everyone at our table ordered different things and we agreed the ingredients were fresh and flavorful. I got the birria tacos and the others ordered burritos, steak bowl, and nachos. The place was empty when we came which is due to it being relatively new and maybe the location. Please come out and support this business! You won’t regret it!

Affordable fresh Mexican food. Looks like a family restaurant. Ingredients were all fresh. our family stopped there and really Enjoy it. We highly recommend it. I had the Birria burrito. It was very good and filling.m. My wife ordered the burrito bowl. Queso is a bit too runny but tastes good. They had a bar but it did not appear open when we were there.

This place just opened and it’s amazing! Like a Chipotle with freshly
cooked food. You go through the line and pick out all of your toppings to make your tacos and they make them on the grill in front of you! The staff was super friendly and the restaurant was very clean. We will definitely visit next time we are back in town! Thanks for a wonderful meal, guys!

Fresh, authentic build-your-own Mexican food in a casual, colorful atmosphere. I had the carnitas burrito with black beans, seasoned rice, roasted pineapple, grilled vegetables, cilantro, onions, lettuce, tomato and chipotle sauce to top it off. Delicious! My son had the birria (like beef pot roast) and really enjoyed it! Meat was fall-off-the-bone tender and perfectly seasoned. We will be back to try the margaritas!

Great spot! Fast service and great food! My little one even got chicken tenders and fries 🤦‍♀. Lots of meat choices and options for all! Definitely going back!

I stopped in for lunch today and found myself chatting with the owners. I’m so glad they are here. The food was awesome! The white sauce on the salsa bar was so good when I added it to my burrito. This is like a local Chipotle. Come in and support this local business, you’ll be happy you did.

This past weekend, my fiancée and I were in Banner Elk for the weekend for a friends 40th birthday. There was 14 people all staying together and all of the meals were planned except Friday night. We were supposed to provide a Mexican dinner Friday night but there was some miscommunication and we only brought a side dish. Essentially, 14 people were standing around without dinner. Not a great situation. We got in the car to go to the grocery store to figure something out and passed by Las Banderas. We thought there was no way they could stop what they were doing and essentially put together a catering at a moments notice....but we figured: 'what the heck, lets at least ask.'
We went in and spoke with Linda, told her the story, and asked if there was anything they could do to help us out....put whatever they could together....take as much time as they needed. We didn't think they would take on the challenge.
We were wrong.
Linda and her crew of three knocked it out of the park for us. 30 mins later we have a huge pan of chicken fajitas, steak fajitas, all of the fixin's, cheese dip, etc...all separated, in to-go containers, and easy to get from the restaurant to the house.
None of the crew seemed stressed, even while dealing with the regular customers the same time they had to put this together. They were all pleasant, helpful, and took time to make sure we got what we needed.
Everyone at the house was super happy, full, and satisfied and we looked like hero's. I wish I could do more than write a review to show our appreciation.
If you are in the area, stop by for a meal. Make sure this place stays in business. The food is your traditional Mexi-American menu. It is good. The people are better.

Great Mexican food for a quick lunch. Order at the counter, get your own drink and a few extra yummy salsas.

this is a MUST if you’re in the banner elk area! it is located at the bottom of beech mountain in the eagles nest center! highly recommend the quesadillas with pastor! ps. if you ask for your quesadillas grilled they will take them to the back and put them on the grill. i highly enjoyed this place. THEY ARE GETTING LIQUOR LICENSE SOON!🥂🍺
