My boyfriend and I had a wonderful riding experience! We prefer this kind of trail since we both have experience riding horses. The family that runs the farm are all so friendly and warm. The horses are beautiful and well maintained. If you are looking for an authentic riding experience then look no further. Can’t wait to come back!!

My daughter and I went today for a 4 hour ride that showed us beautiful mountain scenery! The weather was great so was Evan our guide. My horse was Boogie and he took good care of me and was a great ride! I can't own my own anymore so this made me very happy! I hope to make it back again and highly recommend! Thank you Elk Mountain for this riding opportunity! Loved it!😊❤

I don’t leave reviews often, but I HAD to. We had the BEST time at Elk Mtn Riding Co. We booked a 2 Hr private ride for myself and two best friends. The moment we stepped out of the car we were greeted by a litter of PUPPIES, yes literal puppies, and it only got better from there. Our tour guide Lynn was AMAZING—she was hilarious, knowledgeable and so fun. They matched us with horses based on our experience and catered our ride to that. This is the best trail ride I’ve ever been on and I have been riding my whole life. It’s GREAT for experienced riders. I put my horse down that I had for 18 years last January and have been itching to ride again. My heart feels so full and this experience brought me so much joy I got emotional. I wanted a trail ride that wasn’t just nose to tail and super slow and they were able to provide that. For beginners, they are just as accommodating if that’s your speed 😊. The scenery was absolutely breathtaking and we had a nice lookout spot where we paused to let the horses graze and Lynn took some gorgeous photos of us. Our horses were great—calm, attentive, full of personality and very well loved and taken care of which is a HUGE green flag! We loved our boys Bear, Leroy & Orville. We are already planning our next trip to Elk Mtn Riding Co in March and want to do a 4 hour excursion next because we want MORE! I cannot reccomended this beautiful farm and team enough!!! We (2 couples) had a fantastic 4 hour trail ride to the top of the mountain on their property. Evan was an excellent guide. The ride was wonderful and the scenery was gorgeous. We will definitely ride with this company again.

We had such a wonderful time on our ride! We booked a community ride, but my husband and I were the only ones to book. It was like a private ride for less! Our guide was knowledgeable and taught us about the horses and the area. We went in the middle of November when they are cutting all of the Christmas trees down around the mountains. The air smelled amazing! 100% would recommend booking with Elk Mountain Riding!

My daughter and I got to take a ride with the amazing crew at Elk Mountain! Our guide was so polite and knowledgeable of her horses and the surrounding area! The views were some of the best I've seen on a horse. Very easy-going horses along with the scenery are serenity for the soul! We will definitely be coming back to do the private tour this fall! My friends and I had a fantastic group ride with Evan. The horses were beautiful and well behaved. The views were breathtaking overlooking mountains and wide fields of wildflowers. Very personable guide for a great experience ! Will return and recommend ! The barn dogs were a great addition.

We had such a great time riding with Elk Mountain. We really appreciated them looking out for us during our trip, as they contacted us for a reschedule with impending rain on the date we were actually scheduled to ride. They worked with us to be sure we could still fit in our trail ride during our trip. Would definitely recommend for a peaceful ride. Great guide, calm horses, beautiful scenery...and Waffles was the perfect edition.

This was absolutely the best trail riding experience we’ve ever had! The site is really out there, but that adds to a beautiful trail ride. Robin was incredible and even let me ride her personal horse Woodrow. Trish was a very friendly and competent guide and we really had a blast. Will definitely return on our next trip. Also, playing with the puppies for an hour before we started was such an added bonus!

My husband and I did the 2 hour ride, we rode Leroy and Judge. The guide was amazing and the views were incredible!

LOVED everything about our ride! The horses were adorable and very safe. It was my boyfriend's first time riding and his horse was manageable-ish for him too! Our guide was incredible too. Very fun, engaging and knowledgeable. The views were fantastic!

Amazing from start to finsh!! Beautiful horses, fantastic scenery and Evan/staff were great! Stopped atop tree lined hill for pictures, horses are well loved (stopped for several water breaks) and simply a relaxing Beautiful ride!! I will be back for sure!! Ps Adara was beautiful 😍

Great ride for our daughter’s birthday. Evan was knowledgeable, helpful, attentive and friendly. Booking was so easy and we received text reminders the day prior. The facility was easy to find and has a great bathroom. We will definitely book again!

My husband and I enjoyed a lovely ride with our guide Evan this morning! We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day and enjoyed chatting with Evan as we took in the gorgeous views. It was the perfect way to end our quick trip to the mountains and we will definitely be coming back to Elk Mountain Riding Company next time we visit!

We cannot say enough good things about our day! Great leaders, great horses, clean and rustic restroom, photos taken at the top with a view, safety precautions as well. We got our moneys worth! Loved booking and paying online with text reminders, plus a QR code sign at the end for leaving gratuity. Perfect day and core memories made. We will be back.

I have been waiting years to treat myself to a ride with this company. The barn was clean, guides friendly, horses in great shape and the ride was great. I really enjoyed myself and I’ll be back with the family! Highly recommend Elk Mountain Riding Company. I love supporting local family owned businesses!

What a great experience! The views were amazing. The horses are sweet (especially Buck) and they are well taken care of. If you want to go on a trail ride, this is the place! Evan was our guide and he was great!

The absolute BEST place and horse staff and certainly the ride. We are repeat customers because we loved it so much and we will continue to keep going back. The horses are always sweet and so good and loving, we did the 4 hour this time and got to run the horses , highly recommend doing ♥ and the view they bring us up to see is absolutely heavenly probably the best view in all NC and Tennessee highly recommend them and we can’t wait to go back next year

We booked a 6 person, 2 hour scenic trail ride and had the best experience with Evan. Our horses were beautiful, obviously well cared for, well behaved and very gentle for us as inexperienced riders. The views were incredible and I highly recommend Elk Mountain Riding for your next riding adventure.

I have been riding my whole life and am in North Carolina on a mostly business trip and decided I needed some horsey soul therapy while im here. I was able to book and pay for my ride online the night before, when I arrived I was greeted by name and with a warm smile ( even though i got lost on the way and was about 5 mins late, again ladies my apologies). I was asked if I had riding experience of which I responded, Oh yeah, ( I was not in professional mode at all lol) then I was given Blazer as my horsey partner for the ride. It was an amazing fit. He was an awesome mount for the entire ride. Very dependable and attentive to his rider.
The trails were very beautiful especially with the leaves changing colors. Our guide was amazing, she was riding Lena and handled her amazingly. She made the ride very relaxed and easy going.
This was an absolutely amazing time and i would recommend this riding company to anyone. They are very respectful, family friendly, inviting, and all around just an amazing experience.
