Gyro on lake city

This place is a true hole in the wall. Just ask the owner what’s good and have that. I didn’t know about the menu items, every time I stopped by he prepared something different (wraps, plates, sliced meat, cubed meat, different sauces etc)..

Food is delicious!!! I ordered the chicken shawarma and my husband got a gyro. Everything was fresh, juicy and full of flavour. The gentleman at the restaurant was so friendly and polite. Highly recommend!!

Original review: They have the best gyros in town. (Note that they have moved two doors up the street from their previous location.) They also have falafel, baklava, and kafta. Occasionally they have koshari, which is sort of like macaroni and cheese only with more flavor and much better.
You can get french fries if you want. (In the Mediterranean they seem to put french fries on everything, even the hamburgers. Not with or beside the hamburgers, but ON the hamburgers.) i've never had the french fries here, but they are probably also very good.
Oh, and the man who runs it is very nice and friendly.
Edit: I still go there several times a year since my original review six years ago. My opinion still stands. The gyros are excellent.

Best gyro in town! I always order the Gyro Combo! Mohammad is extremely nice and always hooks it up. A lovely man to chat about what's going on in the neighborhood. He even gave me a slice of Baklava for the holidays!!! The food is always fresh and tastes amazing! Never had a bad experience here. Stop and chat with the man he's great!

I've been coming here for a while because one, I really enjoy the Shwarma, and two the owner is a good guy and I try and support the local businesses of good people.

I work nearby and have been coming here for nearly a year. I don't have enough great things to say. Explosive flavor, incredible value, and super friendly ownership.

Got the Beef Gyro and shish kabob lamb meal! Super delicious and fast service. The guy was so friendly! I love the wall paintings too! The shop had a homey vibe, like your dad or uncle is making you dinner. ❤🌯

This is my favorite Gyro place. The food and service is awesome. It is the very definition of a hole in the wall place, so don't walk by it accidentally. One time on a freezing cold winter day, his credit machine wasn't working and we didn't have cash. He told us not to worry about it, but we said "nonsense, we'll be back"...so we ran home, grabbed some cash and came back and paid him. He's a very gracious man and he makes a great shawarma.

We’ve been coming here off and on for the last seven years and have never been disappointed with the food or service. Delicious food, great price, and good portions. I’ve seen a few reviews that say the portions are too small and I have no idea what they’re talking about. I always want to eat more of it even after I’m full but that’s a different problem entirely. ☺

My favorite gyro spot, have been coming here since 2017 and the quality is consistent. Delicious, good prices, good service, can't beat it.

This used to be Lake City Gyro and words could not describe how happy I was to find out they re-opened under a new name and shop. I legit pulled over later to get dinner there I was that excited. It's a little hole in the wall with authentic Greek food. You wouldn't expect it from the interior but their food is delicious. Having been to Greece, it tastes like I'm there with how spot on it is. Don't let the inside deceive you, I promise their food will make you want to come back for more. Lake City generally doesn't have the best restaurant options but this is one of our favorites! I try to go once a week and always get their house combo. I strongly suggest giving it a chance and you'll be decently surprised. Believe me when they closed Lake City Gyro, I went everywhere in Lake City and Northgate to find a replacement and nothing compared.

Mohammed is the owner and he's the absolute nicest! He's always hard at work and appreciates everyone's business.

Great food at a good price served by friendly staff while you admire the imaginative mural on the main wall. Best gyros in the neighborhood, maybe in the whole city.
A new menu addition is the lentil soup, with great spices. Yum.

This isn't the swankiest eatery in town. So why the 5 star rating? The owner is Middle Eastern. I know, a novel concept. The lamb is juicy, tender and tasty, but NOT greasy. I could be wrong, but the bread tastes homemade. Fresh tomatoes, Romain ,carmelized onions and a delightful sauce completes the item. KISS that's all folks. Enjoy.....

SO GOOD!!!! I wanna go back every day. Authentic, delicious food. So so so so yummy! Got 2 entree dishes and serving size was perfect ...not huge...and everything was perfect. Can't wait to come back!!

I have been going here for years and I absolutely love this place. The owner is incredibly nice, and the food is delicious. I highly recommend getting the special, gyro with fries and soda.

Iv only ordered from this place once but it was the best gyro iv had, and the garlic fries were amazing and they gave a TON, i thought id gotten someone else's order the portions were so generous for the price. I hope they stick around for a long time.

I eat here almost every week and have done so for years. Their food quality is consistent and the staff friendly. A definite add to your regular places to eat.
