We were first introduced to Elise and Big Chair Bakery at our local farmer’s market and it was love at first bite. We’ve had cookies, breads, cakes and have never been disappointed.

Online ordering is quick and easy. We’ve done pickups at the farmers market and at her house, all without any issue and communication is excellent.

Highly recommend trying Big Chair Bakery if you have the opportunity.

I love this bakery! Best ginger rye cookie I’ve ever had. So thick, soft and chewy. The sourdough loaves are better than anything bought in a store. They keep so well & are perfect ( if you buy multiple loaves at a time ) if sliced and froze, no quality is lost when ready to warm/toast the bread. My favorite is the olive loaf — tasty even plain!!
I really appreciate the attention to details and the full ingredient list on the items. I highly recommend to anyone searching for the best local bread or pastries.

I first discovered Big Chair Bakery at the Kenmore Farmers Market and boy am I glad I did! Everything I have tried is SO delicious! My personal favorites include the Green Olive sourdough, her exceptionally soft not-too-sweet chocolate chip and peanut butter cookies and the Lemon poppy seed pound cake.

Elise is also so thoughtful and accommodating to special requests. She’s also always coming out with new recipes and experimenting and perfecting existing recipes. I have genuinely loved everything I have tried and I can’t say that about a lot of places. If you haven’t tried her stuff, go try! You won’t be disappointed! :)

If you’re considering buying from big chair bakery please do! Elise (the baker) puts in so much time and effort into her baking and it really shows in every single recipe she makes! My mother and I love her bread so much and every time she makes out favorites (green olive and rosemary polenta sourdough) we always have an order in! Usually the bread does not last longer than 4 days between the two of us because it’s so yummy! Elise is so great and easy to work with to get orders in if I could give her 10 stars I would! P.S. if you’re vegan like me she has a gorgeous confetti cake you have to order and you can eat most of her sourdoughs!

We love Big Chair breads and sweets. She has great gluten free options and beautiful cakes and cookies. So easy to order and work with Elise, and we just love seeing the Big Chair table at the Kenmore Farmers Market. That is always our first stop to get chocolate chip cookies (if they’re not sold out- they go fast!)

I love everything that I have tried at Big Chair Bakery! Elise is so kind and thoughtful in her baking. Definitely suggest trying to the lemon poppy almond cake, lemon raspberry thumbprints, and dark chocolate brownies! Excited to continue to try her new creations throughout the year during farmers markets and ordering for pick up.

Showing true craft, Elise creates an exceptional product. Great communication skills, worked with my schedule and delivered on time.

I placed an order to treat my employees, and it was gone within an hour! My favorite are the flourless peanut butter cookies.

Love this bakery. I love the sourdough loaves especially the green olive sourdough. Everything I have tried from double chocolate banana bread to Spiced Rye cookies tastes amazing. The chocolate babka is heavenly and is definitely one of my favorites. Elise is amazing and goes an extra mile with each order. She also gives you tips and tricks about the best way to eat it.

If you are reading this, place an order for literally any baked good from Big Chair but especially the sourdough! I ordered the blue corn loaf and it is unlike anything I've ever had and it is also SO beautiful (naturally purple sourdough!!). And it's clear everything made by Elise (the brilliant baker) is made with love. Go and treat yourself to some of Seattle's best.

I found Big Chair Bakery at Kenmore's farmer’s market. I've tried the sourdough loaves (LOVE the green olive and cheddar jalapeno), cookies, and cakes. Everything is delicious! I’ve started preordering to make sure I can get exactly what I’m craving before it sells out at the farmer’s market :) However, you really should just try anything from here – like me, you may be skeptical about an poppy, cardamom, and orange sugar cookie, but it was SO dang good! Ordering online is easy, and Elise is super easy to communicate with. Even the packaging (e.g., green bows) makes the product stand out and makes it easily giftable. Definitely keeping the gift baskets in mind for the holidays and special occasions. 100% recommend this bakery!

Absolutely delicious baked goods! We got the chocolate chip cookies and chocolate banana bread. Perfection. The packaging is also so special and cute. Love it!

I wanted to return to share that Big Chair Bakery now has a vegan confetti cake. It is decadent and delicious!! My partner is normally not a huge cake fan but we both LOVED this cake and it surpassed our expectations (specifically the frosting which was not too heavy or rich). This is a cake that everyone can enjoy vegan or not.

We LOVE Big Chair Bakery!! As a devoted sourdough lover, I can say with certainty that this is some of the best sourdough I have had. You will not regret buying the sourdough country loaf or the walnut cranberry loaf. Both are divine. It is clear that Elise puts such care and love into all of her fabulous creations. And as vegans, we appreciate how clearly the food is labeled on her website. We will continue supporting this wonderful bakery!!

Can't recommend this bakery enough! Initially found Big Chair Bakery via the Kenmore Farmers Market. I now look forward to chatting with Elise each week and ordering from her in advance to pick up at the market. You can tell she puts so much time and care into everything she bakes. The packaging is always beautiful. I have truly enjoyed every single item I've tried. Love ordering breads/pastries from Elise! Feel like each item is personalized and she is so attentive to her customers! She is super responsive and makes some of the best cookies. Her breads are perfect and now I don’t I can buy my bread from grocery store 😅 my favorite so far is the whole grain sourdough 🤤excited to try more of her breads and other pastries :)

Elise is amazing at communication and helped make our wedding day accessible and delicious for those with dietary restrictions. Folks raved for weeks after the event and the abundance of treats we ordered were quickly consumed. Highly recommend supporting this small business.

Everything I have tried has been delicious. I have tried the seed sourdough, green olive sourdough, cannoli pound cake ( it’s insanely good) , Oatmeal raisin cookie, chocolate babka , blueberry ricotta cake. Everything was absolutely delicious. My most favorite item so far was the caramelized onion sour dough biscuits. They are so delicious, I regret not buying more. Highly recommend this place. Elise is super sweet and great with communicating about the orders as well.

Everything I have purchased from Big Chair Bakery has been delicious, scrumptious, and better than some more expensive bakeries I have frequented in the past. A chemist turned baker is the BEST combo. Y’all, seriously. Big Chair Bakery’s goods are worth all the money in the world.

These bakes are out of this world!! You can tell a whole lot of love, energy, and effort go into making these equally delicious as they are beautiful, down to the detailing of the labels and bows. They are the perfect amount of sweet, savory, and indulgent. My favorites so far are the sourdough chocolate babka (a must-try!), the apple fritter cake, and all of the various cookies. The brains behind the bakes, Elise, is the absolute sweetest as well. As a Kenmore native, this local bakery is a real treasure of a treat at the new summer farmer's market and I can't wait to try more of the bakes to come!

my partner and I discovered Big Chair at the farmer's market back in the summer and we have been hooked ever since lol. we love ordering all sorts of baked goods as a special treat. the focaccia is so good and the orange poppy cardamom tea cookies are the most unique and wonderful flavor combo (everything else is also very tasty!).

LOVE all of the goodies I've had from Big Chair Bakery! My absolute favorites are the Honey Pecan Blondies and Rocky Road Cookies, but you can't go wrong with whatever you try. Not to mention the owner Elise is extremely friendly and helpful when trying to making a selection. Check them out!
