Garden Apothecary

This organic garden and apothecary shop in Half Moon Bay is an absolute treasure and my favorite spot for plant shopping. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and always willing to help. I gift their skincare and handmade herbal teas to all my friends and family. The Garden Apothecary team has also organized workshops and team off sites for me and everyone always loves the experience. Highly recommend.

I have known Jenn for close to 20 years, she transformed my landscaping, from a lawn to drought tolerant plants. Her knowledge of plants and design gave us the garden we dreamed of. Jenn and her crew are very skilled in their work and a pleasure to work with.

Seriously, love love love the skincare. The serum is my fav of all the products. Also, I get so many great gifts at the shop… 😝🤣

We moved to the Coastside about a year ago and discovered Garden Apothecary which quickly became our favorite spot for plant shopping. It is by far the best nursery in Half Moon Bay! But beautiful plants are not all that you can find in this idyllic and magical place, there are delicious handmade herbal teas, apothecary gifts, and dreamy botanical skincare products that are clean, organic, and developed by owner and botanist, Jennifer. This is truly a special place and I cannot wait to attend one of their workshops soon. If you live nearby or are just visiting, you must stop by!

I can't say enough great things about Garden Apothecary! The workshops are so much fun, the organic skincare is simply the best, and the handmade herbal teas are delish! Not to mention they have the best plants for our garden and the most gorgeous fresh flower bouquets! Definitely one of my top shops in Half Moon Bay!

One of my favorite weekend spots by far in the Bay Area. I like to grab a coffee and wander around this incredible organic garden and nursery right on main street in downtown Half Moon Bay. The plants at Garden Apothecary are always unique and diverse but the handmade herbal teas and skincare products are the real star of the show for me. I've never been disappointed with a purchase and feel really good about supporting this hyper local business.

Jenn and her team at Garden Apothecary are beyond amazing. This has been my favorite shop since we moved here in 2016. From the delicious (no joke- I wouldn't wash my lips with anything but Spun Gold) honey face wash to all of my gardening needs, this is the place to be. Don't know what grows well in your south-facing vertical garden? Jenn comes to the rescue! Looking for a fun activity with your girls? How about a flower-crown making afternoon!? This shop is a treasure to Half Moon Bay. No trip to Main Street is complete without stopping in here!

Fave shop in Half Moon Bay. I’ve been a customer for years and decided it’s time to share why I love this store! First, the face products are sublime: fog tonic spray & the luxurious oil serum are my favorites. I just joined their subscription plan for automatic deliveries so I’ll never run out. The recent move to the larger store now has a larger focus on plants and I never leave without a purchase. Jenn the owner is a doll. And her /stellar staff are on top of the best customer service. 5 stars!!

Has completely changed my SKIN! I have a long history of adult acne and ruddy coloring. Garden Apothecary skin set made with local ingredients and loving hands of the team, has been a game changer. It is my #1 place to go to for gifts and each item is hand picked!

This is a beautiful store with organic and unique products, they are supporting small family business and most of the product 's resources come from local community.

A nice place to see a variety of plants. Got a cute little cactus. One of the flowers bloomed right the next day!

I emailed the store with a gift request for a very special friend of mine who lives in HMB. Jennifer, one of the owners, responded in a timely manner and was extremely helpful with suggestions of products to include in the gift basket while staying within my budget. She went above and beyond by suggesting adding some flowers from her garden and having the package hand delivered! She even sent an image of the package and flowers before they went out. I could not have asked for a better "virtual" shopping experience!! Jennifer helped me make my friend's birthday extra special that day! The store and their wonderful sellection of products really helped me express the love I have for my friend in a very personal way. Thank you, Jennifer : )

I have been visiting Garden Apothecary since reading an article about Jenn growing and harvesting saffron, which is not an easy feat, a few years ago. After the murder of George Floyd, Jenn created a soothing tea for Black people who were grieving the impact of police brutality on their community, especially the boys and men, and the continuation of systemic inequities in the US. These were offered to those who needed it free of charge.

On top of a unique collection of handcrafted wares and gardening supplies, Jenn has developed a line of skin care that is matched by no other. The Spun Gold Cleanser smells delicious; it acts as a cleanser and an exfoliant preparing the skin for the Higher Ground Serum. Nobody better stand in the way of me getting my Serum (you can see the strands of saffron in the dropper)! Not only is it cleansing and nourishing, it is an aromatic experience as well.

The opening of the Corner Garden brought a whole new experience into the mix. Locally grown plants, many from Wildflower Farm, available for purchase with a knowledgeable team to guide you on how and where to grow your new plant(s). Saffron bulbs are available for purchase one time a year (I am hoping to be able to grow some Saffron at home; I keep trying!). My White Sage has taken root and is growing strong.
There are so many different products and empty vessels around our house from Garden Apothecary; from handcrafted teas and honey to the unique containers with multiple uses afterwards, to plants and garden tools. And don't forget to look under the boxes of skin care for some good advice. Jenn has thought of everything ❤

I love Garden Apothecary! It’s my favorite place to browse with a coffee & look at the beautiful things! Lately I’ve been addicted to their flower bouquets, so cute! Oh & don’t sleep on the skin care! Seriously amazing!

This place is a gem! From the moment you enter the garden filled with all the local horticulture you feel relaxed and welcomed. The shop has beautiful skincare products, all made with the finest and cleanest ingredients. There are beautiful things to find throughout! I highly recommend stopping in while you are in HMB.

I have purchased facial products (specifically the face oil and toner) from Garden Apothecary for years. The products are pure and fresh- always leave my face feeling wonderful. The delivery is quick and the items come wrapped beautifully.

Garden Apothecary is an absolute gem in our coastal town. Every time I stop by, the ladies are so welcoming and helpful. Each item is hand selected or created with quality and care. We are so fortunate to have this business in town!

I live in Sacramento, but have known of and shopped Garden Apothecary for I don’t know how long! I have loved following along in Garden Apothecary’s journey from the tiny store on Main Street Half Moon Bay to the corner garden. I also love Jen’s sense of humor on life on Instagram.
