Rainbow Pediatrics - Dr. John Fernald

After the week I’ve had with a very sick 6 month old I’m grateful for the staff here. Jaime is super nice and very thoughtful. Becky is very good at her job. They actually care about the kids and their wellbeing.

I’ve always had great experiences here, but this week really made me exceptionally grateful for this office. We’ve seen every provider here, and we love them all equally. This week, I made some decisions for my child’s health that I had been particularly nervous about, and most definitely racking my brain over. I’m grateful for Kelly and Beckie for their role in helping me make those decisions. Kelly listened so intently and patiently while I expressed my concerns. I never felt rushed, or silly for my concerns. She was so kind. She provided me with information for the next steps to take, and helped to get the process rolling amazingly fast. At the follow up, Beckie also listened with so much care and armed me with the information I needed to make a decision for treatment. She instantly quelled all of my anxieties and concerns and I left confident in my decision for my child. She was so knowledgeable about the possible medications to try and different approaches to treatment, and was just truly so helpful during the process. Amazing providers, all of them. I have stories similar to these above for both Dr. Fernald and Brittany involving so much kindness, patience, thoroughness, and top notch care. Lastly, I wish I had gotten the name of the nurse we had at both appointments this week. You are a total superstar and my little boy LOVED you. Thank you all so much for everything!

We absolutely love Rainbow Pediatrics! Dr Fernald was my daughters pediatrician for years and she is now 22. At just 11 years old, my daughter became very sick and seen two different drs at another location who just kept putting her sickness off as viruses. She lost 32 pounds and couldn’t afford to lose anymore. Went to Dr Fernald just one time and explained what was going on and he immediately admitted her to hospital and began testing and come to find out her gall bladder had quit functioning completely and had to be removed. If it wasn’t for him and his knowledge she may not be here today. He now sees my step son for last 9 years and is wonderful. There’s never been a time we haven’t needed seen and they’ve got us right in if it was illness. They are all always friendly and smiling and just go out of their way to see we are taken care of. The office is beautiful and colorful and just kid friendly. I would highly recommend this office to any parent!

Highly recommend this place, my son has very bad health issues and we was really having a hard time out of doctors here and our first visit he referred us to Cincinnati childrens right off and got us in quick with them. I absolutely love dr. Fernald and 2 of his PAs, they seem very concerned about our kids and their health above all! Staff is absolutely wonderful, I was eager to get one of my sons test results and called 3 times to get it and not once was they rude about me calling that much, I'm so glad I chose doctor fernald for both of my children. His PAs are wonderful as well! Been seeing them for 3 years now and I still love this pediatrician and all his staff.

Love the Doctors. I do believe sometimes they overwhelm themselves with work and have a tendency to over look things.(only say that because I have experienced it a few times. Wasnt given proper information, or misdiagnosed) Most of the staff is absolutely amazing but there are a few that are very rude. Especially if you call up there. Other than that the doctors have helped my daughter in so many ways and never makes a question feel stupid.

I had moved back to WV from Virginia and I chose Rainbow Pediatrics to take my daughter too. I really like The doctor here and the staff is usually friendly. We have only been there about 3 or 4 times so I'm not sure how the place works. I do know they have a sick side to enter so I figured that was for when your child was sick. My daughter had been running a low fever that Tylenol and Motrin wouldnt bring down. She wouldnt eat and kinda just layed around. So I thought I would take her in to be scene since they had a sick side. The woman was nice when I went to check in, but told me they didnt take walk ins usually. That's was very disappointing cause they have her records and I didnt see it as a hospital emergency. She did tell me it may take awhile but I wanted her to scene. To my suprise we went right back and the actual Dr. come in and saw her within 5 minutes and took time to explain things about what he was doing. I'm not a fan of the no walk in policy cause we never know when our kids will be sick, but talking with the people there I feel comfortable with what they say.

Had a great visit with my child. People were very considerate of your personal space. Only 6 people were in the waiting room and our visit was within an hour there. Very great place and an awesome pediatrician! Will recommend!

Dr Fernald is the best pediatrician. I wouldn’t trust my girls to any other doctor. And the staff are always so sweet! A wonderful, positive atmosphere for little ones to feel comfortable.

Recently switched from another office and I'm so so happy here! Have only been once but we got much more help here than we ever did at the other pediatrician. Everyone was very friendly highly recommend Dr. Fernald!!

We rarely have to wait. They are great about seeing our daughter when she is sick. We appreciate the separate entrances for sick and well patients. We Love Rainbow Pediatrics!
