The Hive Tavern & Eatery

Have been here a couple times and the food has been phenomenal, service has been good to excellent. It is basically a sports bar, and we don't drink or watch sports, so that aspect is meaningless to us. Lots of people there who are clearly regular patrons and know each other. Accept that it will be loud.
We eat keto / low carb and found some delicious options:
* bacon wrapped shrimp skewers appie (avoid the honey-based dipping sauces, but you could probably ask for pesto or mayo- still great on its own, and the moderately spicy slaw is delish)
* steak sandwich, no bun- upcharge for the avocado salad is totally worth it. The brie, tomato, onion, pesto flavors on this were outstanding.
* steak with creamy garlic shrimp was perfectly cooked and so tasty. Would love to have them offer green beans or roasted brussels to go with, but the avocado salad was still wonderful.
* lettuce wrap tacos were good but other options were better
Wish they had real fresh brewed iced tea instead of fountain, but it's a bar so I get it.
Definitely looking forward to going back for a third time to try some chicken options.

Great little spot in downtown St Charles. Very friendly staff, and drinks. Food is decent at times others good. Always enjoy my time here, and love the drag brunch shows.

The Hive is an absolutely wonderful place to wine and dine. The servers and bartenders are amazing, the owners incredible and it will give you just a little taste of that old Saint Charles. Went to the Drag Brunch at this location and had the best time anyone could ever hope for. Will be coming back again and again and again

Was in Illinois for a conferance and just happend to chose the Hive by chance. Its a humble Tavern, and a laid back atmosphere, which I appreciate. Hands down literally the best Ruben sandwich I have ever had!!! Service was great, friendly and prompt. If I could give 10 stars 🌟 I would!!!

Tried this restaurant for the first time and it was delicious! We got the Cajun pasta with shrimp, crispy chicken sandwich, and cheese curds (not pictured.) Everything was delicious and we will definitely be going back!

Tonight was my first time dining in St. Charles. I will certainly be back just to go back to The Hive again! The owner, Nina, is truly the sweetest and our server, Phil, was the bees knees!
Amazing service paired with the Hive steak sandwich and a cold beer made for a stellar dinner! It was the best steak sandwich I've ever had and the environment is on its own spectrum ! I loved it and can't wait to get the hook up on my next experience at The Hive!

Had a great time here! It’s the perfect place for laid back dinner and drinks. Occasional live music brings in a crowd that only aids in the buzz of the atmosphere.

Had a great time at lunch today. Amazing staff so friendly and helpful. We ordered food but we ate before the phone could lol no pics sorry. Try anything and everything. It was all delicious and fresh made in house. Also love these mini brew shots!

A sudden thunderstorm caused us to change our plans and we needed to find a new place for dinner. A quick Google check told us the Hive was just a few miles away .
We were pleasantly surprised when we found that the place was a lot bigger than the small storefront on North avenue aka Main street suggests.
Despite the large crowd on a Saturday night Christina offered us excellent service and information about the menu.
We both enjoyed our meals and drinks. We will be back.

Wonderful little restaurant & bar! Had delicious wings, fries & a drink which all tasted freshly prepared and cooked to order. Felicia was my waitress and she took great care of me, not hovering and bugging me but watchful and prompt instead. I’ll definitely go back, maybe for Musical Bingo!!!!

Had the fiesta steak wrap with side salad. One of the best wraps I’ve had in a while. Good quality steak, not the normal low end fatty stuff. We’ll definitely be back!

Everyone is snoozing on this place! The western burger and homemade chips were delicious! My husband loved “The Stinger”. They have a great selection of local beers on draft as well as your typical favorites. Try the vodka shots by 3 Olives. The Cherry is great! The wait staff was friendly and we paid less than going to other popular places. If you want delicious and affordable go to The Hive.

Went to The Hive tonight with my wife who is the pickiest eater alive. We both ordered the Cajun Pasta with Chicken and my wife polished it off. It was amazing. Nina and her staff was so friendly and inviting. We have now found our go to place in St Charles. My wife also ordered an espresso martini I think and she also loved that. Can’t wait to go back so many things I want to try there. I would say it’s not your normal bar food this is elevated to a much higher level and the way it was plated was so classy and SO good. Wish I would have thought to take a picture but sorry nothing left.

The food was fantastic and it was lively but not too loud. Our server Kaitlyn was great - super friendly and always there if we needed something, but not overbearing. My husband had the fish fry, it is the fourth fish fry he has tried in town and this one was the best! We will definitely be coming back.

Favorite place for quick and delicious lunch. Super fun trivia and bingo night options. Great specials throughout the week! The best staff!

Truly on of our new favorite places for the best chicken sandwiches and burgers!! The homemade chips are amazing too!! Always friendly service - just a happy place to be! Loved the “singo” musical bingo on Wednesday’s too!!

The food was amazing. We had the canjun pasta with shrimp. It was really creamy and the seasoning was on point. The dish also came with the option of soup or salad. I had the corn chowder and it was really good! My husband had the Hive Steak Sandwich with the tatter-tots. The steak was well cooked and the tatter tots were nice and crunchy.

As for drinks, they have a wide selection of beer. I am not a huge beer fan so I opted for a cocktail. I decided to try their winter vacation martini. It was not my favorite but I decided to take a risk 🤷🏻‍♀ I then went with usual a lemon drop martini. I have to say it was the best lemon drop martini I’ve had in awhile.

The staff were also very nice and attentive.
We will definitely be back.

We absolutely love coming in on Sundays! Carrie makes the best Bloody Mary’s and the food is always delicious.

Was there for brunch on Sunday, the staff is amazing. The food was great, had the biscuits and gravy and the minosas!!! 👌👌
