Colonial Cafe - Rt. 64

It was one of the best breakfast experiences we have had in a long time. I really wish we had a Colonial Cafe closer to us. Amazing staff, delicious and a lot of food, incredibly fast, fair pricing, family atmosphere, and did I mention the amazing staff? Highly recommend. We were so full, and we didn't finish our food. Going back for ice cream. Don't "shop around" for a breakfast location. Just pick here, it has all you want/need and more. Photo is of Swedish crepes as a meal. I asked for a side of hash browns, which is on the separate plate. We are already planning our next visit. Yes, everything was THAT good!

Food was great. Pancakes (original) were fantastic. Coffee was good to strong for my stomach but still hot and good. Only real complicate was asked for link sausage to be cooked well (burnt) done and it was just cooked. Everything else was great....

Great restaurant the food was delicious the prices are affordable . The Services Great. They all help eachother making it applesing atmosfit. The plates are very big enough for two. They also have very good coffee.

This is a great place to go for lunch. I ordered my food and it was out here in five minutes with staff was really nice and the food was better.

In town for business and happened upon this Cafe looking for a new place to eat. Stopped in, and like every place else, they could use more help, but I was seated quickly and had my server there quickly. When I asked about recommendations, he suggested the loaded chicken and waffles. I'm glad I went with his choice and got the small plate and loved it. I finished dinner off with a small turtle Sunday and am quite stuffed. With Tip and all, I was out of there for just under $30. God even topped the visit off with a 🌈. I will visit again next time I'm in town.

Up in the area for Christmas with family. ALWAYS need to come here for at least one meal.

Atmosphere was great, service fantastic and food outstanding as always. Even though it was later than normal for us (almost 8PM) some had breakfast, others dinner and Me ?!?! Salad and Chili (WHAT A COMBINATION 😆😆😆 ).

This place has enough of a selection to accommodate anyone with reasonable prices. The service is spot on and friendly, courteous staff.

Locals know and live the place, if your traveling through Saint Charles Ill, Stop by.

At least try the Kitchen Sink desert (not this time for us but IS GREAT for sharing).

Great place to eat, very kid friendly, excellent service, excellent food. We got there at almost colsing time was greeted and seated. We were not rushed to order nor were we rushed out the door. Loaded chicken and waffles are excellent, chicken fried steak is excellent as well. The gargantuan cinnamon pancake is killer! We live close by and will be eating here again! Thanks for the excellent meal.

The food is spot on every time and it’s a family-friendly place with great servers too. Sometimes they don’t clear the table enough which is a minor thing they could work on, but the entree choices, the consistency of the food, time after time and the ice cream is so good. The avocado toast is really nice. They add a drizzle of balsamic so it’s like a mix between typical avocado toast and a caprese salad, very refreshing. The kids menu has great options. We like to do a mix, ordering a variety and letting them have a schmorgasboard. The chicken tenders are so good, fresh not from frozen like many diners.
The shakes are lovely, the little kid sundaes like the dirt cup with gummy worms are a favorite. Personally, it’s the Kahuna Crunch that comes out in a cone stuffed with ice cream and drowned in chocolate sauce that’s a favorite to share as a family.

Friday fish fry is great. The kids always also go crazy for the cow experience. They ALWAYS want to “visit the cow” and of course pose for pics. It’s part of the experience.

We’ve been to this place several times during our family visits to St. Charles. Be prepared to spend a little more, but it is well worth it. Excellent service, great food and great atmosphere. Kid friendly as well. Love the menu!

Our server Leah was amazing and attentive. We had the tenders and burger that were both nostalgic and tasty. Our waitress made my birthday sundae extra special with a cute candle, even as an adult for extra flair! Thank you!

Crowded on Sunday but was seated quickly. Waitress immediately assisted our table. The place was clean. There were tvs in the dining area but they could not be heard because of the crowd. The staff worked great together to make sure tables were cleared quickly, drinks served and refilled promptly, and food brought to tables quickly. Our waitress was knowledgeable on the menu items. Do you like coffee? Lattes? Cappuccinos? This is the place! We were pleasantly surprised at the portion sizes of our orders - we had to take our very delicious leftovers home. We just couldn't finish it all there. Highly recommended.

If you are reading this review... please know... the cow thing... um... I am planning on seeing a doctor soon about it... but... THERE I WAS... driving down a city street with Breakfast on my mind... when suddenly I heard a cow going Mooo... and as I looked over... there were 3 of them looking at me and I suddenly smelled the Cinnamon Smell you get like from a Country Fair... So... I stopped... Once inside a Lovely Waitress showed me to my table... There was the Wonderful Smell of Breakfast in the air as I looked over the drink selection... The Coffee came first... Cream... Jelly... and before I knew it... MY ORDER HAD ARRIVED... Oh it looked FANTASTIC... And the TASTE... so SPOT ON... with that COUNTRY MORNING GOODNESS... Maybe the cows will call you too from the side of the road... And then you too will see... what a Country Fair Cinnamon Breakfast... tastes like...

It was our first time there. They had nice Christmas decorations giving it a warm ambience. The wait staff was friendly and attentive. I had the Reuben Sandwich with a side of Spudz, which was seasoned roasted potatoes. Both were very good, as was the Rum Punch.

What I liked best about this place is I’m doing a carnivore diet and I wanted nothing but the 5 egg omelette and meats in it. And they didn’t charge me for the meats since I didn’t get all the other stuff that comes with it. Excellent and now I’m going back the next 5 days while I’m in town! Great service, food and can’t go wrong going here.

Really enjoyed our lunch here. Mine was the soup and salad that came with corn bread. The soup was the potato soup and very tasty. The other person had Chicken Tenders w/ fries, corn bread and ordered potato soup. She was stuffed! Took home a doggy bag. Their menu is extensive and it took several minutes to look it all over. At the end we ordered ice cream sundaes. I had the hot fudge and my daughter had the Chipper sundae. Our waitress was outgoing and helpful. There was no wait time and plenty of parking. I recommend to anyone to try this place out.

Got the royal burger with fries and it was absolutely delicious. The burger was bursting with flavors and fries was crispy. The Oreo milkshake was also great. It had perfect consistency and tasted great. Definitely happy I found this place and would highly recommend.

I was in town for a few days, and my boyfriend and I wanted to get some food. We usually try to eat local whenever we travel. The breakfast here is amazing! The food was delicious, the service was friendly, and the atmosphere was cozy. If you are in town, stop by and try Colonial Cafe.

Amazing! We had a great breakfast. Awesome service by Paul. Attentive and responsive, even with our group of 14 with 5 kids! The BLTEA with cheesy grits cakes. A MUST order! The fresh banana bread French toast was delicious, and the banana split waffle was a hit with my 9 year old. We also loved the mason jar mango lemonade, and you get to keep the cup! Kids menu is great and has a good variety. The restaurant was clean and had friendly staff. Two big thumbs up!

I really enjoyed my time at colonial Cafe. They have a huge selection and their prices are very reasonable. Their pancakes with fruit are absolutely amazing and huge. Everyone seems to be very friendly at this restaurant and it has a cozy atmosphere. They have a decent selection of teas and drinks. I have already been back to Colonial Cafe and I'm sure I'll visit them again!
