Cherry on Top

Lovely ice cream shop! The first thing I noticed was the Christian music playing! My mother in law is gluten free and the young man pulled out the ingredients list for her to make sure she could find something safe to eat. They were so kind and accommodating - would recommend!

Yum yum yum! Highly recommend this spot! The ice cream was delicious and the outdoor seating vibe is fun, with picnic tables & corn hole! Loved the music selection that was playing outside also. Only dairy free option is sorbet (fyi) Definitely recommend!!

Great place to get ice cream! The employees are awesome. Our boys had fun playing after there treat. Highly recommend.

Decent selection, but having a vegan option for my son with dairy allergies put this over the top. Super friendly staff, great location behind the souvenir stores and between two good restaurants… and great prices. Sundaes and banana splits are best value in or near downtown!

We have been coming to gulf shores yearly for 5 years, and I can’t say enough good things about cherry on top. Out of every ice cream place in gulf shores, they have the best prices, the best ice cream, the best location and the best service. We swore off all other ice cream locations because they never compare! We love cherry on top!

My daughter wanted shaved ice and we found the perfect spot at Cherry On Top!
Very clean place that serves a variety of ice cream and Shaved Ice.
They specially made a rainbow flavor for my daughter.
The outdoor seating is nice. Lots of picnic tables with umbrellas!
You can even play corn hole while you're there which was perfect fun for my husband and I! We played a few games while the kids enjoyed their treats.
I also love the location. It's close to several restaurants and shops in walking distance.
I know there are several ice cream shops/Shaved Ice shops located close by, but you definitely can't go wrong with Cherry On Top! I love the name and everything about it!

My family and I visited Cherry On Top while on vacation, and we all loved it so much! The shop is such a sweet little place with all the fun and happy vibes. Their milkshakes not only look amazing, but they taste just as equally great! Cherry On Top had a great selection of ice cream flavors and they weren’t hesitant to give you a free sample of any flavor you had an interest in. The service was great, and we were even able to meet and chat with the owners while we were there. They are a great family, and even gave us some recommendations of their local favorites to check out while we were vacationing! There are games for everyone to play out front, and tables to sit at and enjoy the warm evenings while hearing the ocean just a few feet away. From start to finish it’s a great (and delicious) way to spend some of your time in Gulf Shores. My family and I will absolutely be back!

We visited Cherry on Top twice in April 2023 and really enjoyed their ice cream. Their ice cream definitely has a nice smooth creamy taste and is definitely different then others we have had. I would highly advise checking them out after a long day at the beach. They also sell shaved ice if ice cream is not your thing. We didn't try the shaved ice but if it's anything like the ice cream I'm sure it would not let you down either!!

Great place to stop for ice cream and friendly service. All the standard scoop and sundae flavors are available as well as some unique options. Indoor and outdoor seating available.

Fun staff, fun music, fun hangout area, one of few family-friendly spots open late, very well lit after dark, snow ones as well as ice cream… they have it all. Owners are super-friendly with great stories to tell. Respect for being closed on Sunday; store up on ice cream from grocery store for your Sunday fix but after Sunday, I highly recommend checking it out over so many other ice cream options in the area.

Wow wow wow 100x wow. This ice cream was DELICIOUS.

I, personally, asked the sweet ice-cream attendant for the Espresso Chocolate Chip. This was after the cone-ista had given me some samples to try, all of which were great, seriously the decision anxiety was real. I got a single scoop waffle cone and it was HUGE. Put me right into a sugar coma; which was the perfect way to end the day.

I definitely recommend this adorable “mom & pop” ice cream shop. The service from the frozen cream scoopers was impeccable, they were friendly, helpful, and personable! Also super speedy. I was in the store for maybe 15 minutes sitting and eating my ice cream, and they cranked out orders like nobody’s business, while also making sure everyone felt taken care of and not rushed. Not to mention their taste in music…. Chef’s kiss! 🤌🏼

ALSO, I wasn’t able to partake, but they had a cute outdoor setup for families to eat ice cream on some picnic tables and play bags (cornhole). What a family-friendly place!

Without a doubt this is a 10/10 in my books. Thank you to everyone at Cherry On Top who works hard every day to make this THE BEST ice cream spot at the Gulf Shores! You’re the tops!

This place was incredible!! My family and I all agree that this place was phenomenal and the best shakes we’ve ever had! Everyone who works here is amazing and the service was great!

Don't be fooled by the outside the ice cream was amazing, and you get way more than you think your getting so order a size smaller than you think you want. Great place!

Quick friendly service. They have moose tracks!!! My favorite! The kids loved their ice cream cones. Lots of people in and out, and they have cornhole. Plenty of outdoor seating and parking all around.

Ice cream just doesn’t get any better than this, ours was SOOOO good! Cherry on Top is in a great location, super clean, and best of all smiling faces to greet and serve!

Love this place. It’s always great. My favorite is the salted Carmel. It’s amazing. The butter pecan is also great.

Very quaint ice cream shop. Simple menu, ver6 good ice cream. Definitely a stop for taking the kids and the kid in you. Always a flow of people, yet not to crowded. Excellent outside seating, corn hole for the kids.

We stopped here for dessert while on vacation! The staff was very friendly and attentive and the ice cream was awesome!! We had a banana split and our son had some scoops of birthday cake ice cream! Very worth the stop…maybe just a little pricey!

This is the cutest lil ice cream shop just across the road from the beach off of the strip. The customer service is friendly and the ice cream and sno-balls are delicious! Definitely a place to stop by if you’re in Gulf Shores
