Sunliner Diner

Enjoyed a fabulous lunch on a slow off season Thursday. Had heard about the candied bacon that was a must taste. It lived up to the hype, and was some of the best bacon I've ever tasted. Not only did we enjoy the candied bacon, yet a club sandwich, bacon double cheeseburger, onion rings, fries, and a delicious chocolate malt shake. Awesome vibe with the classic diner feel. Wait staff was very friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend and will return next time we're in Gulf Shores.

In 2018, we discovered this diner by mistake (we didn’t know where to eat and parked in the first place available) since then, we have gone to eat here every family vacation. Amazing food, amazing atmosphere but most importantly amazing STAFF!!! The only down side is that we don’t have one in Texas, but we are thrill to come to gulf shore every time! We love it.

This place is so good. I thought since the atmosphere was great the food would be mediocre. But my burger was so very good. Everyone I was with liked their food as well. My avocado burger has a half an avocado which was very nice. Most places give you a few slices. Our service was wonderful too! And the 50s theme was so fun. Go here!

We went for my son's 6th birthday. Everyone there was so accommodating. They allowed us to sit in the special car booth, and my son absolutely loved it. The burgers looked like pictures in a magazine, and tasted just as great. The milkshake was fantastic, and paired quite nicely with his chicken and waffles. Overall, it was a great experience.

Actually one of the coolest places I’ve ever eaten! Suga was the best, we never ran out of drinks and were always taken care of. Best diner in Gulf Shores.

Awesome place! We’ve been coming to GS for years and never seemed to check this joint out. So glad we did - great diner vibe, the place is super clean, friendly staff, and the food was on point.

I loved my first experience here. First of all, it's clean. Super clean. Everything has a place and is in its place. Tables are well attended to, too.

The theme is just a fav of mine. The 50's diner isn't very popular anymore and when we cruised past this diner, we knew we just had to stop. We weren't even all that hungry!!

We thought we would share an app (loaded fries) and a dessert (banana split). Oh my gosh, they were outstanding comfort foods.

The banana split was so fresh and the ice cream itself was of quality, too. The different fruit toppings throughout added a pleasant amount of flavor boosts without adding too much sweetness.

The fries. Oh my. They were just sinful and incredibly indulgent. I am not a queso fan in general. But this queso was perfect. It wasn't too overbearing or heavy as it was poured over the crispy fries. The jalapeños were definitely present and easily removed when a break was needed from the heat. Order these fries!

You may wonder why I put the dessert first in this review. Well, that's because that is how it was served and I am not sure why. :)

If you see their neon. Just stop in. It's worth a visit.

An experience not to miss. Waffles were perfect, so perfect they were gone before I thought to take a picture. Bloody Mary was tasty. Atmosphere...reminiscent of days gone by, but updated. Go, even if it's just once.

Who doesn't love a good diner? The Sunliner is wonderful! The food was awesome, and the 50s atmosphere was perfect! This place is huge! One of the only places around with no wait! My wife and inlaws had the fish and chips, and I had the Jukebox burger and fries! When a meal description has "if you finish it" in it, you know I have to try! I can't wait to come back here!

The Sunliner Diner was like going back in time, in a clean, updated setting. Our server was so kind. The waffles classic meal was a great deal: fabulous waffle, eggs, meat & hash browns. We also ordered shakes, they were large and a great deal. The area was light and bright. There was even a 4 person table available in a red corvette, would be fun to try sitting there sometime again.

Suga was an awesome server, if you can request her section and request that she sing you a song! She was the highlight of our trip to the diner.

Everything was so amazing. The best service I’ve gotten anywhere in a long time. Best place we have eaten on vacation! Suga is TOP TEIR. Amazing server. Absolutely loved her!

The food was phenomenal, the atmosphere awesome and our waitress Suga was incredible. She truly represents what an old school Diner should be like, from her outfit to personality, to dancing with the customers.

This isn’t the place to get something fancy, it’s just no-nonsense good American fare. The burgers are so good, I had the barnyard, and my son had the jukebox; both rank in the best burgers we’ve had. Hefty portions and homemade milkshakes make this diner a must for a casual dining experience.

The food was delicious! It far exceeded my expectations. And Elijah was a fantastic server. He was funny, had a great personality, was really engaging AND delivered as a server to the utmost. I wished I lived closer. It would be one of my regular spots!

I really like the atmosphere here. It’s not the typical beach decor. I love how the staff get into their role of the old time diner. Our server Taheera was great- ask for her when you go.
The breakfast is SO good! Waffles are big fluffy, eggs perfect- I did scrambled and my husband had fried. The bacon was crispy- which I love.
Will definitely go back.

Awesome place to eat. Great breakfast. Had the Berry stack and old fashioned milkshake. Staff was super friendly!

They have a car inside with a table in it. Rhe lamp post outside plays music and blows bubbles when you walk in. Their menus are newspapers. What a cute place! Great menu selection, great service and of course great food. Wish there were more places like this near Boston! Can't wait to visit again.

Well recommended, the breakfast was perfectly prepared and talk about a friendly staff. The service was great and food was awesome. We ate here 2 days in a row.

Such a fun place to approach and experience. They have cool milkshakes, lunch, breakfast.. so many choices! We were served well, hot food was delivered, and the atmosphere was fun!
