Fair Oaks Diner

Came before close and they were super nice about it! It was my first time, I ordered huevos rancheros, two French toast, and a bowl
Of chili. Food was delicious and chili was a great treat Togo. Prices were very well for area and the ambience was of 50’s. I really liked this small diner. 5 stars

We went there for breakfast and got one of their specials. Food was very good. Prices are very reasonable. Wait staff are very nice. Cozy little gem!

Fantastic people, food is delicious and makes you feel at home. The atmosphere is complete with great, friendly regulars stopping in and having fun conversations! Their Spanakotiropita Omelet was both fun to pronounce, and probably the most delicious omelet I've ever had! Definitely try this place out! :)

Will definitely be back. Food was great, big portions, friendly service, nice coffee, multiple hot sauce options. We got skillets and cinnamon rolls. Looking forward to trying other menu items as well.

I’ve eaten here many times, usually ordering the Willabys omelet or the blueberry pancake, sometimes just the eggs, bacon and home fries. It’s a good place. It’s not another wannabe chi chi Madison restaurant. It simply delivers a solid old school breakfast. It’s tasty and most importantly more affordable than any other breakfast in Madison. I’ll always support Kris and crew.

If you are looking for a 'blast from the past' dining experience then I highly recommend stopping in to the Fair Oaks Diner. The employees were friendly and helpful. The service was prompt and the food was hot. I was there for the breakfast hour and the food(eggs and sausage) were perfection. I really enjoyed sitting at the counter and seeing items from days gone by. From the wall hung dial telephone to the milk dispenser and milkshake machine to the Campbell soup display and the single serve cereal box display I languished in fond memories. The prices were more than fair and if I find myself in the area again I will make it a point to stop in.

I have lived in Madison. Since 2015, why am I just now trying this place? Low key, off the radar, local diner. Small and cozy. Since it’s small it’s not hard to get someone’s attention if you have a question. The bagel of the day that I had, with both bacon and sausage was a bit greasy, but I love a sloppy sandwich so for me it was a positive. YMMV.

American fries, while not as presentable as other places, they still tasted amazing. I couldn’t put my fork down once I tried them.

I have only been here once so this is based off of that one experience. But let me tell you, I have been to many places for lots of different things, u will come back to this place again real soon.

I don't typically bother to do reviews but I had to for this gem. Everyone here is amazing, that true diner atmosphere, and food cooked to perfection. If you're looking for good food, amazing people, and supporting local you've found your spot. Highly recommend to everyone.

(We even came here for breakfast on our wedding morning, it's that good.)

Not only was the food great, and the hospitality, the feeling you get when you walk in is amazing. It's like walking into a diner in the 60s, but 80s and 90s music is playing and everyone's in modern attire. the pancakes I ordered were delicious, and so were the hash browns. The coffee tasted great, and I'll definitely be back soon. I wish I had pictures too, because The Fair Oaks Diner looks amazing!

Fair Oaks diner is an old school American diner. The location is small, yet engaging; the food is simple, yet tasty; the price is absolutely satisfactory!

We ordered bacon, french toasts, and a Denver omelet. The food was simple and good as expected. It was't too buttery, but also wasn't too dry.

The atmosphere was awesome. This diner is one of a few places which allows you to enjoy the sunlight through the window from any table you seat, and the sunlight made my brunch extra relaxing and cozy.

The waiter & waitress are one of the nicest I have ever met in diner across the state.

The size of the diner, seating & tables might be not very comfortable for your needs. However, if you like to enjoy cozy morning with relaxing buttery foods in a comfortable and simple atmosphere Fair Oaks is the way to go!

My favorite breakfast restaurant in Madison. If you wondered what it was like before chains, Sysco and restaurants full of strangers, check out Fair Oaks. Excellent classic diner food in generous portions at fair prices. My favorites: Bomblet, huevos rancheros, and the plate-sized pancake. A neighborhood institution. Tell the owner how much you like the food. It will make her happy.

Exactly what you'd hope to expect. A no frills classic American breakfast spot. Local people, good prices, hot coffee, no bells and whistles. I went with my brother and I got steak and eggs for 7 dollars. My head was throbbing from the night before and this was a perfect remedy. The waitress was on point and just chatty enough, just a nice lady, not trying to charm you, but she cared.
Atmosphere was warm and we ate by a sunny window, when I left I felt much better.

This is one of the best East Side Madison restaurants for breakfast. Everything is delicious. Good price and they make you feel like a regular. Cozy little place but always find a table. Hope I don't jinks it with this review. So good!! Classic good breakfast.
