X9 Games

Just started getting into Magic the Gathering and X9 was super welcoming and got me up and running. Counter staff have been nothing but lovely and are knowledgeable about cards and board games. Great spot for a gift for a tabletop gamer or to get into gaming yourself.

Good selection considering the size of the store. Has a lot of things for gamers, various box games, a ton of cards for Magic the Gathering and similar, plus rule books and more for dungeons and dragons and other games. They had dice and other dnd stuff too, blank models and model paint. Staff seemed chill. It's a smaller store but the layout is good and allows a lot of things to be sold without too much crowding.

I've been here a few times with my nephew who loves Pokémon. I've taken him to a few gaming stores in Western Mass/Connecticut, but this is his favorite, and he asks if I can take him every time he visits me. He likes that they have boxes of singles he can paw through rather than forcing him to use a website to browse, which isn't as fun for him. My nephew is very shy and doesn't always want to ask for help finding what he wants at the store, but they've always been very patient and suggest options he might like without trying to upsell him. Overall, we've always had a good experience and I would recommend X9 Games to anyone looking for a good LGS.

Such a cool shop with a great vibe! The owner was incredibly helpful and put together these Pokemon surprise bundles that I am going to use as party favors for my kiddos birthday. He knew about the Pokemon "playground rules" and knew exactly the kind of cards the kids would be excited to get, not only that but he set them the cards up for me in hard plastic covers. The store had an area towards the back where adults and kids were playing games of Magic. There was also large intricate model battle game set out in the middle of the store that was really cool. The store is set up to not only to shop in, but to activley play the games they sell. It was lively and busy when I went on a Saturday afternoon. The owner was also very kind and patient with all the kids coming in and out of the store.

This is one of the best game shops around. Stopped in looking for something I could play with the family. After asking me a few questions, they connected me with something that matched our skill levels and playing time. Awesome! Highly recommended and nicely located.

Fantastic place. I’ve been going here since I was little. You won’t find better prices on Pokémon singles in the area. They buy cards and offer store credit too. The owner is an incredibly nice dude and all the employees are friendly and make you feel welcome. I always feel like a valued customer here and that’s what keeps me coming back.

I've been shopping and playing at X9 for over 15 years. The owner has an excellent variety of board, card, and war games in stock. He is also happy to really get into conversations about what games you enjoy playing and suggests games to try that best fit your gaming profile. The player base is extremely friendly as well. My favorite gaming store, bar none.

I love this store!! They have an amazing selection especially for the size of the space. Seth has been so helpful every time I come in and is a delight to buy from. Wether it's another set of dice I totally needed, or a mini painting set up for my anniversary, I leave feeling confident in my purchase and excited to return!

This is my local game store and i love it! the owner (i think?) and the staff are extremely kind and friendly. some high ticket items may be a little over retail but item limits are placed to prevent the need increase prices to prevent scalping.

I'm mostly into board games. He has a great selection of demonstration board games in the back. You can sit down and play them for free to see if you actually like the game. We bought a few this way by trying them first. Prices seem reasonable. The owner is very kind and friendly. Always listens and makes good suggestions for my teenage son. Highly recommend the place, good selection of Pokemon cards. They do tournaments of other games like magic the gathering, etc

Been here a handful of times. Seth is always friendly and welcoming, and patiently answers any questions visitors might have. Haven't spent much money here yet, but it looks like their selection of Magic cards and tabletop reference books is pretty solid.

Great shop for card gaming with a small selection of board & video games.

Staff is normally very quick to greet and answer all of your questions, occasionally they are distracted with a tournament or groups going on in the back of the business. Pricing for most items is fair and comparable to other stores in the area. I would consider this store a 4.5 only losing points for how limited their selection is, but cannot so it gets a 5.

Visiting from Rochester, NY for the holidays and we stopped at the mall. I try and stop in new game stores whenever possible and I was not disappointed with this one. The staff was very friendly and helpful and it seemed to be a nice space for gamers to gather. There was not a huge selection of games to browse, but I was able to find and purchase a title that I hadn't seen before. I'd definitely be a regular if we lived locally.

My favorite gaming store in the Valley. Good selection of games and amazing selection of cards. Most importantly the people and community are phenomenal. The world Seth creates is supportive, friendly, and fun.

Great game store with good selection of board games and Magic cards. Also sells some RPGs and miniature games, with a good selection of FFG's Star Wars games. The staff is particularly friendly and knowledgeable, and the store has table space for games and meeting other gamers.

Great sealed Magic the Gathering events and a strong selection of singles. Good stock in boardgames. Can be a little bit if a squeeze for very large events but friendly player base and open community.

The owner, Seth is what makes X9 so appealing. He has a real and longstanding passion for gaming and is a smart, witty, hard-working guy who knows his products inside and out, is an extremely creative and restrained gamer who LIVES to game ... And games to live? LOVE X9 which lives in a mall but offers a very personalized experience. I am hoping to run some fun gaming tourneys through Seth and X9. The game of Diplomacy is so tantalizing! Seth and I spoke at X9 about ways to create a very cool experience...like 4-player factions, cool qualifying rounds and prizes. I thought a Diplomacy League would be cool for the Valley because the classic game is so simple logistically and adaptable. It can be played as an RPG easily or in many ways. Anyway! X9 has a prime spot in Hampshire Mall, fair card prices for Magic the Gathering, and attentive staff - all which go into this being a prime local game store for me. I'll be sure to come back next time I want to buy cards/games instead of relying on Internet giants!
