Had a check engine light on and these guys took care of it in two days for a great price. Definitely recommend this spot for anyone needing some maintenance. Quick and great service.

I took my wife's car to Gil for some custom wiring work,battery relocation,and a nice wire tuck,the work was impeccable and made to my specs,my wife is an avid car culture girl and she loves this car,Gil made her car's engine bay be a prize winning piece of art thanks to you and your great crew

I showed up needing a plug in my tire , due to a leak. And asked a few questions about passing inspection with my front end. Told me license plate needs to be visible. Ok do it.... In the end. I was very happy. I passed inspection. Got sticker, tire got plugged all in an hour or so. Plus a tip.

Workmanship was professional, atmosphere was good, and if your a fan of NOS, or vehicle upgrades. This is the place to go for it.

My roommate and I were struggling to check in for our U-haul rental on their (and I cannot overstate this) ABOMINABLE app. A friendly employee saw us and stayed late after closing the shop to help us through the dreadful process. Moving is really stressful, and we appreciate the kindness.

Earlier today I went to Gils Auto Repair for a walk-in vehicle inspection. I had an amazing experience there. The staff was nice and polite. They were also prompt with getting my car inspected. It sounded like the garage bay was full, but they quickly pulled the car out that they were working on to get mine in for the inspection. I can fully recommend going to Gils Auto Repair for a vehicle inspection. Thank you for the service.

I had a service at Gil's which I highly satisfied. I did not know them before. I get the inspection done there and also a few replacements. The guys there help you to save money for unnecessary changes. In my case, VW service gave me a 5 page paper showing what needs to be change, but these guys help me to change only really needed parts which only a few items. Also they gave me an advice where to buy/change the tires for a cheaper prices which they do not do it in there. I appericate the way how the guys work there, Dani and others. Mucho gracias.

Gils auto repair shop is a friendly auto mechanic shop with highly skilled mechanics and speedy as well. I dropped my vehicle off for rear brake repair after just one day of being scheduled, and got my car back working better than ever in about 3 hours, much respect to the fellas and crew at Gil’s!

Very nice people who helped me find out what was wrong with my car at no price to pay! The place is a bit small so if you’re getting something done there and you have to wait you should have a ride set up. They didn’t seem to have a waiting room so be prepared to wait outside or as I said before get a ride until your car is done being worked on.

Customer service at Gil’s Auto repair was great and friendly! 10 out of 10 for sure. Great business and super welcoming staff with a variety of services. I would definitely recommend them to anyone since they are one of the top auto repairs in Amherst and great location. Service is fast and reliable.

As a blue collar working parent with kids in HS and college, I have my hands full but not my pockets. When my son called home with car troubles 3 hours away up at UMass, logistics and unfamiliar surroundings were in play. A Google search and review of local repair shops landed me here at Gil's Auto Repair.

Right from the start, after speaking with Dan over the phone, I sensed that I found a reliable and trustworthy shop. And when all was said and done, Gil's Auto Repair was all I hoped it would be. They repaired the rear suspension on our 2004 Camry in short order and at a fair price.

Glad I found you guys and won't hesitate to use you again. Nice to know I have a repair shop I can feel comfortable dealing with so far from home. My HS senior will be up there soon enough with his 20 yo Camry, so we may cross paths again! Until such time, take care and keep up the good work.

Super friendly group of guys who do fantastic (and extremely reasonably priced) work. I really appreciate their flexible hours, too! Communication with them was great - they explained what was wrong with my car super clearly, and in layman’s terms that I could understand. Like most people, I’ve had the occasional negative experience with a mechanic recommending work that didn’t actually need to be done in order to make more money - this was totally absent with Gil. He was completely honest with me about the repairs that needed to be done immediately and the repairs that could be put off for a period of time before they were necessary. If you’re like me and know nothing about cars, you can feel completely safe trusting his judgement!

Great service and work. Needed brake pads on a Saturday on short notice; called at 11 am and Gils closed at 3 pm. Gil said he would get it done and stay after closing if needed. My new place for maintenance & repairs.

What can I say that hasn't already been said? Gil's is easily one of the best auto repair shops I've ever been to. Kind, respectful, competent mechanic, with fast service and excellent prices. Highly recommended.

I normally don’t leave reviews, but I had such an amazing experience today. I just moved from Florida and needed an inspection. Dan and Luis got me in and out so fast despite being super busy, gave me such good advice, and made me feel so welcome. I won’t be going anywhere else as long as I live here!

First of all, Gil is one of the nicest people that I’ve ever met! He’s also a consummate professional who clearly enjoys his work (as evidenced by his business hours, which are both flexible and longer than literally any other mechanic). He explains everything that he’s doing before and after the repair, and has no qualms about providing a quote (which he often goes below). He charges for exactly what he does and nothing more (in fact, sometimes he doesn’t charge for included services that others would), and has never recommended anything unnecessary - in fact, he’s been extremely reassuring about my cranky little 2005 Camry . He’s given me advice outside of repairs more times than I can count, and I’ve observed him being equally considerate with every other customer I’ve seen. I’m constantly surprised by how quickly he finishes repairs! It’s also unusual that, as a queer, feminine-presenting person, I have never felt a hint of judgment or condescension.

To be perfectly honest, I’m reluctant to leave this review, because a) I want Gil to relax every once in a while, b) I don’t want competition in obtaining his services and c) I love the small-business aspect of the shop. But I don’t want to be selfish, and he certainly deserves the attention.

Gils is the best auto repair shop that I have ever used! They call you back offer you options on your repairs, I don't know wnyone that does this today except for Gils!

A diamond in the rough....If you want to do right by your car and your wallet, this is the only place to go in town! I recently moved here from out of state so when I needed an exhaust leak repaired to get my car through inspection, I was beside myself until there was Gil's Garage... Very nice, professional people and quality mechanics who are straight shooters! Needless to say, I left this repair shop feeling blessed and you will, too! Thank you Gil and kudos to Jose!
