Que Chula Craft Tacos & Tequila Bar

Loved the food, and the service was great and pleasant, surprise, because they were busy. I would definitely return if I'm in the area.

We have the 12 street taco platter and it was pretty good. The carne asada is on point. Get that. It was a nice day so we were able to sit outside. Have some drinks, eat some tacos and get a little tan. If I'm in the back in North Carolina in Chapel Hill then I'll definitely come back and have some of those tacos.

Really enjoyed the food. Great flavor on the salsa. I had the chimichanga with beef. It was very moist, flavorful and filling. They actually have a couple of IPAs on the drink menu, which is a rarity for Mexican restaurants.

Only complaint is the noise. They had the music turned up way too much. Our waitress struggled to hear us. We asked them to dial down the music, which they did a bit. We appreciated that. But you wouldn’t want to come here with anyone that struggles to hear conversation in noisy environments.

We randomly stopped here for lunch before our show at the planetarium and were not disappointed. They had fantastic service and a great, clean atmosphere. The food was delicious and they had quite a few gluten free and vegetarian options for me to boot. Plus they were able to make something for my picky eater, which was a huge surprise. Very pleased and will definitely be back when we come back to the area.

The aesthetic of this restaurant is a beautiful thing.
The colors are vibrant and the art is stunning with what portrays mexican culture beautifully (from what I know).
The restaurant looks very clean and great places to sit inside, at the bar, or outside.
The food on the menu with pictures was helpful, but so hard to choose as they all looked and sounded delicious--the food also looked as artistically prepared and the restaurant itself!
The staff were friendly and inviting.
They greet you and bring a bowl of chips and salsa!
I went with Que Chula Asada tacos and beans and a wonderfully prepared cantarito that took me back to Tequila, Mexico!

Such a fun place to go for dinner. Came here with my gf's family and we each found something to enjoy on the menu. My gf & I each found yummy vegan options, and everyone else was able to find other great items. The cocktails are also very tasty & unique.

I wasn’t sure what to expect, but it was so good! We ordered the chula poblano tacos and platano rellano and they were both so good! The margs were also really delicious. I was expecting a bit of a college Mexican restaurant vibe, but was pleasantly surprised. Can’t wait to come back!

One of the best Franklin Street restaurants! I love the Chipotle Pineapple cocktail. The frozen strawberry margarita pitcher is good for a few people. I absolutely love what they salt their margarita glass rims with—it’s got a tiny bit of spice and a lot of yummy salt. My favorite dish here is the ACP. If you like seared carnitas, I don’t recommend getting them here, but suggest their tacos, carne asada, or salads.

The steak and shrimp are so tender and juicy. I need to say Que Chula's Fajita just beat all other Fajitas I've tried before. Love it! I also like the lighting effect here, it makes the holiday feeling even better.

We had the enchiladas with blue corn tortillas and were blown away from all the flavor. My boyfriend said his top shelf marg was top notch. Service was great! Fun environment with Latin music.

Such amazing experience, I will definitely go back again. The servers are super kind, food was very good and fun place. I ordered Chula's bowl, drink and it was about $30.

Our waiter was so nice and made this experience great. She kept asking us how we were doing and accommodated us well. I got the poblano con nopal veg tacos which were amazing. I have never tried cactus before, so it was a cool experience. I also love plantains and horchata, so these were also yummy. I would definitely recommend this place and it’s in a convenient location on Franklin street!

Food was great, service was prompt and pleasant, great atmosphere. I look forward to coming back.

Even our fussy 12 yr old enjoyed the chips and salsa brought out when we arrived (he is not normally a fan of salsa)! Servings were very generous - l unusually had to box my leftover quesadillas and bean and rice side dish. Meals were tasty and tasted just that little but different from your typical Mexican restaurant. Would definitely return.

We happened upon this place on a Sunday afternoon while we were walking around Chapel Hill. What drew us to the place was the ample amount of outdoor seating given the pandemic circumstances. We are so happy we stopped in - the service was fast and friendly and the food was really good! We got an assortment of tacos and sides, and the shrimp fajitas. Everything tastes fresh and authentic. They have a huge variety of street tacos so I definitely want to come back to try more! Plus they serve drinks in cute stoneware which you can also purchase (we got a shot glass for $5).

i dined at que chula this saturday and i was quite impressed. the restaurant was filled with impressive ambiance, it had a diverse menu and attentive staff. the service was quick and understanding when i had any questions. definitely will go again!

Best Mexican restaurant on Franklin St. and Chapel Hill, Durham, Raleigh area has to be Que Chula by far. Walking up to the restaurant it is very appealing to the eye with its vibrant and colorful decorations like no other. Immediately as you walk in to the restaurant you’re greeted by a receptionist, ready to serve you with a big smile and big staff behind them. The atmosphere is amazing with great music to vibe to. Cleanliness is an A, every time I’ve visited it’s always clean and can’t complain about it, I’ve always felt comfortable to eat there. Now the food is what puts the other Mexican Restaurants in the area in shambles. The menu is able to encapsulate the original Mexican sazon (Seasoning) and tradición very well! Thank you to Que Chula and the people who help operate it as I always walk out more than satisfied, and happy!

Excellent food and service. Great beer selection. Outside patio was closed due to temperature but looks like a great option weather permitting.

This place has fast, friendly service and very tasty food. My chicken quesadilla was nicely seasoned and generous proportioned. The tacos al pastor and platanos rellenos were also delicious. All staff wear masks and the outdoor seating is spaced far apart. We’ll be back for sure!
