Tobacco to me is a religion. I have been to many cigar lounges around the world. This has become the best cigar lounge in the greater DC area, typical of OVTC excellence. Relatively new, very comfortable seats, excellent service, a wide variety of regular and rare cigars. Excellent selections of Davidoff.. upstairs enjoy the lounge. Great selection of S.T. Dupont lighters and cutters. Wonderful place to smoke your favorite stick and well informed on cigars.

Great selection of tobacco and cigars and the staff is exceedingly friendly. Coming from south Florida where cigar smoking is extremely popular, this place has a wonderful nostalgic appeal to it.

Outstanding selection of cigars! The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting. Highly recommend! The air circulation system is good for a person who doesn’t smoke but wants to enjoy with your partner.

This is a really nice shop and lounge. I've been visiting the area from NY quit frequently in the last 7-8 months and this has been my favorite spot. The upstairs lounge is spacious with 3 TVs that allow me to catch whatever sports are happening at the time. It's very peaceful too. If I had my druthers, it would stay open until midnight... but that's just wishes of a night owl.

Love this place! 1st floor in the back is their full cigar selection and in the front is their sale stuff and loose-leaf tobacco for pipes. Definitely recommend grabbing your choice and heading upstairs for a window seat to people watch everyone on King Street. The bathroom is in the back upstairs.

Very nice cigar shop with real professionals working there and a great selection of smokes. There is seating on two levels where you can enjoy a smoke. They have a house cigar brand which is well priced and good quality. I recommend this place.

A truly spectacular “Experience”… Oh, it’s also a Great (!) tobacco shop - Lounge. I hail from Chicago and enjoyed my cigars from Diana Silvius’s Up Down Cigar Shop and used to join her (God Bless) for some “Browns” (brown spirits - Single malts, cognacs…) with one of her signature Silivius cigars the size of a souvenir baseball bag at Pat O’Briens right next door. I played at the CME so I frequented Iwan Ries’s shop in the Loop under the “L” (the oldest continuously running cigar shop in the states). While working in London, they had these awesome Old World cigar shops in “The City” (downtown centered around the Bank of England and the London Exchange) where Cubans were the go2 smokes (no stinking embargoes in London)… Cubans then were 1/5th the price here after the embargo! Great memories…

This why I’m so thankful for Old Virginia Tobacco! It has a genuine old world “feel”, an exceptional strong selection (Their signature cigar - The Old Virginia Tobacco Washington (Punch private label) and OVTC Cabinet (Davidoff private label) are two of my favorite cigars now at any price point (no this is not a paid endorsement).

Like any great cigar destination it’s the people that make it. The Cigar Aficionados, who also happen to work there are unique with well defined delightful personalities and are exceedingly, genuinely knowledgeable. The latter is a refreshing respite since cigars became somewhat popular. Of particular note are Rosemary (reminds me of Diana Silvius), a Jersey girl can sure add “color” to an “Old Town” cigar shop and Ethan. If there was ever a n immensely dedicated Tobacco Master (cigars, pipes, pipe tobacco…) it is Ethan. He is passionate and proud of his craft and it resonates. As professionals and true cigar lovers, they are never “pushing” a promotion.

It’s not just me, but the friends I’ve made upstairs in the lounge where I will take refuge sometimes for hours, share my sentiments. They, like me, comment on how nice it feels to “Have another cigar” regardless of the price point.

Local, tourist or in for business I strongly recommend a visit and stay awhile. You will most definitely remember the “Experience”. There are very, very few “Establishments” like this anymore.

Great location and beautiful interior. I'm a pipe smoke and unfortunately the lounge reeks of heavy cigar smoke.

Actually stumbled upon this great cigar shop. Incredible selection and super knowledgeable cigar pros. Only visiting but I'll go back before I leave.

My most recent visit was to join an evening event, with a remote guest speaker. However, the entire event was hosted by Gary Pesh ( the owner ) so it was both informative & entertaining, and quite a deal into the bargain since event attendees rcvd special discounts after the session was concluded. In short, OVTC is everything you want or need from your local tobacconist: wide range of stock on hand, wise & experienced staff, and room to lounge & discover your community. Just go and see for yourself !

Great selection. I forget his name, but the tall knowledgeable employee that smokes cigars very quickly gave me superb recommendations, tailored to my palette. Will be going back soon.

Great selection and service fantastic cigar shop!

Went in and gave Jesus an idea of what I like to smoke and his recommendation was spot on. He didn't just go for the brands I said and he didn't take advantage of my inexperience and sell me an expensive cigar. I really appreciated it.

The guys do a good job meeting my requirements, I have found at the prices there are better than most cigar stores in Northern Virginia

Its pretty tough to find a knowledgeable friendly staff, a well stocked store with quality cigars, and a comfortable friendly environment to smoke in. But on King Street, look no further.
