The Retreat at Blacksburg

The place itself is beautiful and the staff is great. Whenever I have questions or concerns, the staff at the front desk is always helpful and quick to find answers. Margaret is usually who I talk to at the front desk, and she always makes me feel heard. She also gets answers quickly and handles my concerns professionally. The maintenance staff is also super friendly and professional. Steven is the guy who takes care of stuff on my street, and he does his job well. Thanks Steven!

This place is top-notch. I was sold on the amenities! Pictures don't do it justice. You have to visit in person to see what I mean. The club house is huge and open 24 hrs with free Starbucks! The leasing persons were so nice and walked me through the application process. Wish I had applied earlier because they didn't have enough spaces for me and my two friends to be in the same cottage. Maybe next year!!!

The Retreat offers more than just the best housing in Blacksburg. The Retreat is a welcoming and comfortable community with a staff eager to serve, support, and get to know it’s residents. The Retreat offers the best amenities in Blacksburg, including a resort-style pool, walking path, golf simulator (yes, you read that right and it is AWESOME), and ample study space. What a gem we have in The Retreat!

The best place to live in Blacksburg! They have amazing hot chocolate as well as the best swimming pool. Oh, also peep the sauna as well as the lit study rooms. The clubehouse is 24 hours which is the best part. The GYM is lit too!! People actually come here to chill.

I have had an incredible experience at the Retreat in Blacksburg. The leasing experience was smooth and the clubhouse is exceptionally accommodating! The workers at the clubhouse are always empathetic and Laura helped direct me in the right direction no matter the inquiry. I’m happy to have chosen the Retreat as my home.

Kate is an exceptional community assistant who always went the extra mile to help residents. She is knowledgeable, responsive, and always had a positive attitude. I really appreciated her dedication to making our community a better place to live.

I had a wonderful time touring the other day with Kate! She was so helpful and answered all my questions. The Retreat seems like an amazing place to live and the staff really solidified my choice.

I was having car troubles right in front of the club house and couldn’t seem to get my car to start. Hopeless and sad I sat in my car crying. Then, the next second Kate runs out and picks my car up and puts in on her back, and proceeds to carry me right to my house!!! She went above and beyond. Not to mention when she brought me to the house she proceeded to tuck me to sleep and read me a goodnight story! Truly an amazing employee!! Life changing experience!!! Would recommend!!!!

I very rarely leave reviews but I needed to acknowledge how helpful and friendly Kate was. She was very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. Our decision was made after our tour. I am confident that this is the perfect place for my son to live.

The Retreat at Blackburg is an amazing establishment. I was the biggest fan of the amnetities here during my multiple years of living here. I'm leaving this review as this is my last semester at VT and will unfortunately be leaving. To whom ever gets my room treat it well and enjoy the amazing time here as it building great memories. And don't forget to tip the front desk employees at the end of the year they do so much for use. Sebastian was my favorite and always made my day and was eager to assist with all my needs.

I lived in the Retreat for 3 years, and I have nothing but great things to say about the property and staff. The Retreat is the best university housing you can imagine with spacious living areas and great amenities. The resort style club house is the best part.

In addition to the living areas, the staff is super helpful and very kind, specifically Bertha. She was always there for every concern or need I had as a resident. Even after moving out of the Retreat, she was very kind to help me get my packages delivered to me. Overall she and the rest of the staff surpassed my expectations and made my stay and moving out procedure very comfortable.

I love living at the retreat. It is the nicest place in blacksburg and Kate Levine is always super helpful when needing any kind of assistance. I definitely would recommend living here!
