Petes Ice Cream and Donuts

It was the fun and colorful building that drew us in and the fun and colorful owner, Pete, that kept us entertained. He only had his home-made ice cream at the time, but man was it good! Locally sourced ingredients and some unique flavors. I had the best toasted coconut ice cream I've ever had. Very well done. The place was spotless and super clean. He had several people come in for donuts so hopefully that will be reconsidered so its available for our return trip next time we're in town. Thanks Pete! Mohalo!

INCREDIBLE! Best Ice cream we’ve ever had. The black berry sorbet is OUT OF THIS WORLD! And the raspberry is the fluffiest creamiest, just sweet enough to tickle your good spot. You can truly tell this is home made all the way. Pete himself is a doll, charming and polite and very willing to help you find the best one in the store before deciding. The cookies and cream and cookie dough were both also very light and delicious. Best ice cream in the gulf, don’t pass it up!

Very rarely do I give a five star review. I had every intention of taking a picture of our purchase once we got back to our condo, however my family had other plans. When I tell you these are the best donuts we have ever had, this is no exaggeration. The donuts are fresh, light, fluffy, and full of delicious flavors. I especially loved the strawberry filled. I also got a cup of black coffee and it was also delicious. We will be going back tonight for ice cream.

This place is great. The ice cream is awesome. They unfortunately didn't have doughnuts the multiple times we went during our trip. But the ice cream was so good. The entire family agrees it is some of the best.

Super friendly staff and excellent ice cream & donuts! Very clean and inviting establishment. I had the salted carmel ice cream and it was incredibly smooth, creamy, and flavorful. Also had some of a maple iced raised donut that melted in my mouth! Highly recommended, don't pass this up if you are in the area.

Fresh, homemade! Absolutely Incredible!!! The most delicious and freshly made ice cream I've ever tasted! Stopped by 2 days in a row. The owner is very personable and cares tremendously about the quality. He uses fresh cream from a dairy and only the most flavorful fresh fruits.

We stopped by at Pete's, mostly because that's my name, and we were very grateful for the wonderful ice cream. They use a 14% butterfat content and make their own ice cream! It's a premium ice cream. Most people complaining about the price need to stick to McDonald's vanilla cones because portions and flavor was top notch! We'll be back and can't wait to try their donuts!

Best... Flipping... Ice cream...ev-a! We took 9 people here, some of whom consider themselves ice cream connoisseurs. It was unanimous that this ice cream is the best. We even turned a hard core vanilla-lover into an official new favorite... Lucky charms. If you think that sounds terrible so did his Dad until he tried it and ended up eating a bowl of it!

I have a dairy allergy so the ice cream stop is sorbet. Ice had a lot of sorbet...I haven't had ice cream in 15yrs or my throat swells up. Best... Sorbet...ev-a! Even I was like "So we're coming back tomorrow, right!?"

Terrific donut and ice cream spot! Ate fresh donuts for breakfast and homemade ice cream after supper. Definitely would recommend. They even split the small into two cups for our children. Thank You for this and Excellent service!

This is hands down the BEST ice cream experience we have ever had. The ice cream is amazing and made right in front of you and you can taste until you make your decision which is reaalllly hard to do! We stopped there three times during our trip! Pete was so nice and adds to the whole experience. I cannot recommend this place enough! Just go you won’t regret it!

My grandmother and I have visited a few times recently, and the reason we keep returning is the amazing choice of flavors, quality of the ice cream, and the friendliness of the staff! Colby and Lily were so kind and helpful with their suggestions and input! It's always nice to go in somewhere and be greeted by people who are happy to be at work, and their patience while we made the difficult decision of deciding which flavors paired best was much appreciated! Definitely plan on returning soon!

Best ice cream I've ever had. They make all their ice cream in the shop. The young man working told us they rotate out different flavors pretty often. They only had about 12 flavors to choose from, but they were made with quality ingredients and both flavors I tried were amazing!! I highly recommend the apple pie ice cream. The ice cream is super creamy and smooth and they mix in an entire apple pie! My husband had cookies and cream and it was delicious too! Same creamy, delicious base with loads of chocolate sandwich cookies. It's a little more expensive than some of the other shops in town, but I assure you, it's worth every penny. The apple pie ice cream was so good, we went back the next night and shared a large cup of it! I've tried 6 or 7 of the ice cream shops in Gulf Shores and this was by far the best ice cream in town!

Wonderful doughnuts! This place is above and beyond your typical doughnut and ice cream shop. The staff was super friendly and professional. I will be stopping by multiple times my next stay on the beach.

We stopped here twice in one day. The first for donuts which were simple flavors but absolutely amazing! The second trip was for ice cream and it is equally amazing! Super creamy but full of flavor! The staff were super friendly! Definitely a new go-to!

We absolutely loved this cute place. Stopped one day and were treated to the best ice cream we have ever found outside our great state of WI (and we KNOW ice cream up here!). The staff was extremely friendly, and we even had the pleasure of meeting Pete who expressed how appreciative he was for our business. We will be coming back for Spring Break next year and can't wait to return! Also, we've been telling everyone up here that this place is worth a long drive if anybody wants truly great ice cream! Oh, and don't forget the donuts because they were pretty tasty as well!

The ice cream is incredible - creamy and delicious. The staff was very friendly. We came in late one night on our vacation and are glad we did. The staff even gave us the left over donuts from that morning. Visit here for a great sweet treat.

Best donuts I have ever had! We went back more times than I care to admit during our one week vacation but enjoyed every visit. Super friendly service and delicious ice cream too! Only recommendation are bigger signs so more people can see what you are selling so they can come and enjoy! Most certainly a must stop for donuts or ice cream. 10 stars!
