We went for the sunset and head so much fun. The peer was amazing at dusk. It wasn't too crowded as far as lake Michigan sunsets go. It would be a great place to spend the day. The beach is sandy and you can walk out quite a ways. There's a pavilion with restrooms, a beach gear shop and a cafe that sells food, drinks and ice cream. There's a play area for the kids, but it was small and dated.

Beautiful free park and great place to take the family. Enjoy the shaded picnic tables, play in the sand on the lake shore, or hike on out to the North Breakwater Light. Kids loved walking along the water edge and all the fish and sea gulls. Only costs if you chose to pay to climb to the top of the light. I never mind a cost when you consider it helps with conversation. Military friendly as they are allowed entrance for free!

Very beautiful. Has two convenient concession stands (northern one was nicer). Beach is very clean. Nice sidewalks along parking and down to beautiful beach. Walk to lighthouse is easy to walk on. Such a wonderful view. Be sure to bring your camera.

Beautiful, the beach area close to the lighthouse pier is never too crowded. Free parking and plenty if it, picnic tables in the grass for lunch, huge beach.

Cool place. We have been here 3 times over the years, nice walk to the lighthouse but don't go out there if the waves are high!!

Beautiful beach ⛱ lots of room for people on the beach, however if going on the weekend be there early not a lot of parking!!! There is a decent amount don't get me wrong but it gets packed. If windy you will have lots of waves to go wave jumping so bring boards and life jackets for kids. There is a sandbar a little ways out too that is lifted so stand and wait for waves which is perfect. Also a lighthouse you can walk out too and pay go walk up to the top in.

Great place! This park has a lot to offer. The beach is awesome! I came during the off season so I cannot be sure how busy it gets, but it's a pretty long stretch of beach. There is a grassy area right next to the beach with lots of picnic tables and grills. There is a memorial right in the middle of this grassy area as well. At one end of the park, there is a skate park, shuffle board, mini golf course and a playground. The playground looked old but looked functional. Next to the playground there's a large concrete seating area with benches looking over to the breakwater light, but this part might not be part of the park. Finally, you can walk to the light from the park.

Great beach area. Nice long stretch of beautiful beach. Cool pier with a lighthouse you can check out. Clean and nice bathroom facilities with a little snack shack. Park area with corn hole boards, mini-golf and a skate park.

Really great beach. Very chill, and relaxed environment. Swimming out to the swimming area marker it’s about 8’ or so. Clear water. The parking lot looks like it could cause concern, but we lucked out. Close to the lighthouse, dunes, playground, put-put golf, and a few blocks from the center of town. Definitely go!

I LOVE this park, everyone is so friendly, the beach is only sparsely populated and super clean. They offer complimentary life jackets for free, and all you see are people just living their best lives. Youth groups practicing, families spending quality time together 😁 it's really a postcard kind of town over all

Beautiful beach and park located within walking distance of downtown.

We traveled from Muskegon, MI. This is our second time. We have MANY lovely beaches at home, but this has become one of our favorites. Such a cute little town.

The beach is clean and people are kind.

Beautiful beach on Lake Michigan. Lots of parking. Lighthouse, mini golf, skate park, spots for grilling. Benches to watch the sunset. Dogs are not allowed on the beach so it is nice that you can enjoy the sunset right from your vehicle in the parking lot if your dog is with you.

Great start to our day of touring lighthouses! Perfect sky, not very crowded and the bottom of the lighthouse looked like a ship! It was a great start, glad we stopped.

The beach has plenty of parking, on-site bathrooms, and concessions so you really could spend all day here. There's great green space and playgrounds for children, as well as a skate park close by and beach volleyball courts. You can also walk out to the Ludington Northbreak Light, which I highly suggest doing. 0.5 mile walk out to the lighthouse, but it goes by quickly.

Prepare for a walk if you plan on visiting the Lighthouse at the end of the break water. Very nice view of the lake.

A very long beach along Ludington's coast. It is also very beautiful, with lots of benches. I appreciate benches. This is a great place to relax and soak in the sun. A place to do Yoga, no thanks. A wonderful place to watch the sunset! A place you can enjoy freighters and The Passenger liner SS Bladder return to port. Very well upkept.

This is an easy 5 star review. I would definitely return!

Free park.Beautiful beach, swimming, and grassy green parkway with trees and benches for picnicking. Beautifully maintained and clean. Kids playground nearby. Can walk the breakwater to the lighthouse on calm days. Perfect place to watch sunset.

Close to the Maritime Museum which I HIGHLY recommend. Not too far from ice cream :)

This is a beautiful large sandy beach. The walk out to the light house can be a destination. We did it on a cool day. My 5 and 7 year old niece and nephew made it out. There is a fee to climb up into the lighthouse. There are 6 or 7 shuffle board game courts that are available to rent.

This park has a big ,wide beautiful beach. There is a nice green, tree shaded picnic area on the other side of the parking lot. If you're ambitious you can walk out onto the pier to the lighthouse. I believe there are restrooms with a snack bar attached and a mini golf at the end of the park.
