Heather one of the store managers is absolutely amazing. Her knowledge about her products and especially with respect to shoes is phenomenal. She knows which shoes fit which feet type and which shoes and colors she can get in wide which is unheard of at a shoe store that I have ever been to.

Ordered a Forerunner 255S Music online through Locally. When I came to pick up my order, Heather greeted me and told me they actually had a $50 off promotion that Locally didn't apply. She offered to process a return through Locally and have me rebuy the watch with the promotion applied. Extremely friendly and helpful. 5/5!

I stopped in today looking for trail running shoes to wear while playing disc golf. Despite being an unusual application for the gear, Heather listed to what I was looking for and what was important to me and got me into a great pair of shoes. It's apparent that she and the rest of the staff are very knowledgeable and care about their customers. I will be returning for future purchases.

Can’t say enough good things about the team at Sunrise. These folks know their stuff. The pricing might be slightly higher than what we would pay online, but the knowledge they share easily makes up the difference. They gave my wife advice about toe socks, sizing, and even foot specialists in case she kept getting blisters.

Heather is absolutely amazing - very attentive, caring, and friendly. She definitely went above and beyond in helping me find my correct shoe size and perfect hiking shoes. I have been searching for the Hoka One One Anacapa shoes in-stores for awhile now and Sunrise Mountain was the only shop that carried it, and I am definitely glad to have purchased it in person. The shop does appear a bit cramp inside but it also carries a lot of high quality products, so it is definitely worth the visit. Plus, the customer service again is superb. Will definitely be re-visiting again in the near future.

Love these guys! They're insanely helpful and knowledgeable on all their equipment and apparel. I came in to purchase some mountaineering boots (which I couldn't find anyone in the bay area that knew a thing about them) and Heather at Sunrise taught me everything under the sun. Glad to know that there's a store like Sunrise in the Bay Area with the die-hard experience and expertise that outdoors people need. Would recommend to anyone!

This place was incredible! They had so much selection and the women/owner was so knowledgeable and amazing to work with. If you're in the area I highly recommend stopping by and seeing what they have.

The staff here really know their stuff! I went in and described the problems I was having with my current footwear and they gave me a whole bunch of options, all of which were based on a proper fitting of my feet. They educated me quite a bit on hiking footwear and I left with the right shoes for my situation. I think this is the right store for my future outdoor needs.

Sunrise Mountain Sports SHOULD be your go to store for your outdoor shoe wear! From walking, running, hiking and mountaineering, the staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. I usually wear a 9.5 sized shoe, but I thought I had a wider than normal wear. After being measured thoroughly and fitted with a shoe, I found out, I am more comfortable with a 10.5 sized shoe. I was surprised at the size I was fitted with! My toes felt a whole lot more comfortable with a more spacious toe box. I came away with a nice pair of Brooks Levitate 2.0 shoes. I am very pleased. Not only does the store carry shoes, they have a great selection of running, hiking, camping, and transportation gear. They carry name brands that you can count on.

I’ve been going to Sunrise for over 10 years. This was even when they had the rock wall that you can climb on. The store has gotten smaller and the offerings also but what is always consistent is the service and knowledge. A few employees have left, including the former owner Kim but Phil is the man now. I’ve gotten clothes, hiking shoes, snowshoes and snowshoe bag there.

Looking for a kayak to buy for Scouting activities. Rented one to demo and staff was professional and spot on to find a set up that made a 20mile trek adventure pleasurable for a novice with no experience.

Sunrise Mountain Sports is a rarity in the modern Internet shopping era. Friendly, exceptionally knowledgeable service(that you won't find at REI), and a huge selection of outdoor gear and kayaks to make sure you leave with an empty wallet.

I got the best shoe fitting ever from Heather. I keep recommending friends to come here. There Wednesday night runs are a lot of fun.
