Del's Repair

Had a wheel bearing go out on my way to Rice Lake from Indiana. I made it to town but not knowing the area I took my truck to Del's for repairs. I was charged around $700 for the repair. (I say around because I was not even a receipt and I dont remember the exact amount off the top of my head) I questioned the mechanic cause the price seemed rather high but I was assured it was because a lifetime warranty wheel bearing/hub assembly was put on. Along with a new pair of brake pads. I reluctantly agreed to the repairs (what else could I have done?).
When I got the truck back I noticed the brakes were squeaking (odd since they were supposed to be new). I asked the mechanic but once again was assured all was well. Considering it was -25 all week I factored that as part of the reasoning.
I could go on for days about how awful this experience was but I'll try to keep it short.
1. I requested a receipt which I was never given, (after multiple attempts)
2. I called and left messages 8 or 9 times requesting what brand of wheel bearing/hub assembly that was placed on my truck with no response
3. I replaced the other wheel bearing/hub assembly last week. New brakes, new wheel bearing/hub assembly and fixed an AC drain clog at my normal auto shop. $375 (big difference from $700)
4. The brakes that were taken off (which were only 2 months old) were absolutely destroyed. (Not an exaggeration by any means) uneven wear, one pad had completely broken off.
5. Automatic start/car alarm that I was told could not be installed cause I had the wrong equipment?😂😂 😂 Everything was correct. Installed with no issues once I got home.
Needless to say I will never go to this shop again. On a positive note. I did get a chuckle out of one of the mechanics setting his coworker on fire in the shop as I was coming to pick up my truck.
