We have adopted two dogs from PAR over the years and both times had an absolutely lovely experience. Lisa is a great resource and everyone that fosters with PAR, that we have met, seems to be excellent. Our first dog had quite a bit of training before we were able to adopt him and it was great to see the level of care given to make sure he was as ready as he could be for his forever home. Our second dog lived with a wonderful and caring foster. With the second, we took advantage of the dog training class that PAR includes in the adoption fee and we are really glad we did. We learned a lot not only for our newest family member, but for our other dog as well. All around I would absolutely recommend adopting from PAR!

Lisa & her crew at Parkers Animal Rescue are AMAZING. I have never met anyone like Lisa who has so much wisdom about animals, specifically with animal behavior, and how to work with them in a good way. Not to mention she is so generous with her time. My boyfriend and I invested in a dog as our new family member. She was very patient with us as first time dog owners. She talked with us, shared resources, and allowed us to meet with our new dog a few times to make 100% sure that she was the one. Investing in a pet was a huge step for us and we are so lucky to have received the support that we did from the people at PAR

Sweet Mr Baby Basil Blue has turned out to be one of the sweetest dogs on the planet. Yes he’s a lab and likes to eat things….lol nothing harmful. We fought a few parasites and bacteria that were cured my our local vet and Basil responded perfectly no harm with their expertise. The love he gives us has been very charming. He absolutely loves all dogs now, has been through Kimberly Kincaids training along with PAR free sessions. One remarkable dog. We recommended PAR to all who ask where we adopted him from. We have adopted through Lisa twice. Both times were smooth as silk. Lisa is extremely insightful when matching dogs to people based on the lifestyles of both. She also offers ongoing training for both which was very much appreciated as we were not disciplined pets parents.

A great experience! The meet and greet and background screening is so important. Samantha helped guide us to the perfect puppy. Willy Nelson has become my constant companion.

I adopted Arlo (formally Milo) from PAR in February. It was a joy working with his foster and you can tell all of the dogs are well loved, taken care of, and that their potential new families are carefully picked.
Arlo has settled into his forever home perfectly and we can’t imagine life without him. Grateful to PAR and the fosters for their work!

We had a great experience adopting our little Olive from PAR!!! They worked with us for a couple weeks to find the perfect puppy that would fit nicely in our family and lifestyle. They even include free puppy classes which have been so informative and very helpful with bonding with our sweet girl. I can not say enough about PAR!! Parker’s Animal Rescue is just the best!!!!!! We adopted our first pup Sweetie, December of 2020 and then adopted Sailor in June of 2022. I found Parker’s Animal Rescue in Durango while looking for a puppy on Petfinder. They were very communicative, and showed concern about Charlie’s welfare which made me feel better about her health while in their care. I brought my 9 y/o dog to do a meet and greet a week before the adoption and the rescue worked with me to coordinate meeting time with the foster family. It was a very pleasant experience!

We adopted our beloved Calvin from PAR a little over a year ago. The attention and care Lisa and her team dedicate to the animals of the four corners is unparalleled. If you're looking to adopt, this is the organization to do it through.

I love everything about this organization! Most of these dogs are either strays or come from overcrowded shelters where their chances of adoption are slim. Lisa and this crew work tirelessly to save as many dogs as they can by placing them as fosters with safe families to wait for their forever homes. This step gives fosters the chance to get to know each dog’s personality so they can be carefully placed in their ideal home and have the best chance of success upon adoption. All the while, these dogs are getting the attention and love they deserve.

Parker's Animas Rescue provides a phenomenal service to the people and animals of the Four Corners area. This organization works closely with area shelters to give dogs that may need a little extra support a second chance in life. PAR finds foster homes that nurture each dog and help them to become the best dogs they can be. When you adopt from PAR, all the ins and outs of each dog's personality are known because of the foster system so they are able to place them with the perfect family and assure both the dog and the family are happy. Lisa is truly a matchmaker extraordinaire. If you run miles every day, she'll find you a running partner. If you binge watch Netflix shows, she'll find you a viewing companion. If your house is bustling with activity, she'll find you an outgoing dog to greet everyone as they arrive.

I have been fortunate enough to foster several dogs for Lisa, and the experience has been one of the most rewarding of my life. It is so fun to watch dogs who have had a rough start to life, blossom in their healthy and secure environments. As much as I loved each and every dog I fostered, it was always easy to let them go because I knew that Lisa had found a perfect home for them.

PAR not only creates great matches, they will continue to support the adopters for as long as they need. They remain available for questions, offer ongoing training and provide endless resources to each family.
